| 2 | 非利士人急追掃羅及其子、殺其三子、約拿單、亞比拿達、麥基舒亞、 | And the Philistines followed hard after Saul, and after his sons; and the Philistines slew Jonathan, and Abinadab, and Malchi–shua, the sons of Saul. |
| 3 | 掃羅被攻、戰勢劇烈、射者追及之、窘急特甚、 | And the battle went sore against Saul, and the archers hit him, and he was wounded of the archers. |
| 4 | 謂執兵者曰、爾其拔劍刺我、免未受割者至而侮我、執兵者懼甚、不敢奉命、掃羅遂伏劍而死、 | Then said Saul to his armourbearer, Draw thy sword, and thrust me through therewith; lest these uncircumcised come and abuse me. But his armourbearer would not; for he was sore afraid. So Saul took a sword, and fell upon it. |

| 9 | 乃剝掃羅尸、斬其首、取其鎧甲、遣使至非利士四境、傳於偶像及庶民、 | And when they had stripped him, they took his head, and his armour, and sent into the land of the Philistines round about, to carry tidings unto their idols, and to the people. |
| 10 | 置其鎧甲於彼之神廟、釘其首於大袞廟、 | And they put his armour in the house of their gods, and fastened his head in the temple of Dagon. |

| 12 | 壯士咸起、取掃羅及其子之屍、攜至雅比、葬其骨於雅比之橡下、禁食七日、 | They arose, all the valiant men, and took away the body of Saul, and the bodies of his sons, and brought them to Jabesh, and buried their bones under the oak in Jabesh, and fasted seven days. |
| 13 | 夫掃羅之死、因其干犯耶和華、不遵其命、且請示於憑鬼者、 | So Saul died for his transgression which he committed against the Lord, even against the word of the Lord, which he kept not, and also for asking counsel of one that had a familiar spirit, to enquire of it; |
| 14 | 而不諮諏耶和華、故耶和華殺之、以其國歸於耶西子大衞、 | And enquired not of the Lord: therefore he slew him, and turned the kingdom unto David the son of Jesse. |
