| 1 | 主耶和華示我夏果一筐、 | Thus hath the Lord God shewed unto me: and behold a basket of summer fruit. |
| 2 | 曰、阿摩司歟、爾所見維何、我曰、夏果一筐、耶和華曰、我民以色列、末期已屆、我不復赦宥之、 | And he said, Amos, what seest thou? And I said, A basket of summer fruit. Then said the Lord unto me, The end is come upon my people of Israel; I will not again pass by them any more. |
| 3 | 主耶和華曰、是日殿中之歌、變爲號咷、尸骸繁多、隨在棄擲、人皆緘默、 | And the songs of the temple shall be howlings in that day, saith the Lord God: there shall be many dead bodies in every place; they shall cast them forth with silence. |
| 4 | 爾欲吞噬窮乏、滅絕斯土之貧民者、其聽我言、 | Hear this, O ye that swallow up the needy, even to make the poor of the land to fail, |
| 5 | 爾曰、月朔何時過、俾我儕糶穀、安息何時過、俾我儕鬻麥、小其伊法、大其舍客勒、以欺誑之衡詐人、 | Saying, When will the new moon be gone, that we may sell corn? and the sabbath, that we may set forth wheat, making the ephah small, and the shekel great, and falsifying the balances by deceit? |
| 6 | 以銀購窮乏、以屨易貧民、以劣麥出售、 | That we may buy the poor for silver, and the needy for a pair of shoes; yea, and sell the refuse of the wheat? |
| 7 | 耶和華指雅各之榮而誓曰、彼之所爲、我永不忘、 | The Lord hath sworn by the excellency of Jacob, Surely I will never forget any of their works. |
| 8 | 斯地豈不因此而震動、居其中者豈不悲哀乎、斯地將墳起、如大河之漲、搖撼而復下陷、如埃及之河焉、 | Shall not the land tremble for this, and every one mourn that dwelleth therein? and it shall rise up wholly as a flood; and it shall be cast out and drowned, as by the flood of Egypt. |
| 9 | 主耶和華曰、是日也、我將使日沈於亭午、使地晦於白晝、 | And it shall come to pass in that day, saith the Lord God, that I will cause the sun to go down at noon, and I will darken the earth in the clear day: |
| 10 | 使爾節期變爲愁日、謳詠變爲哀歌、人各束麻、衆咸髠首、哀哭若喪獨子、其終則如苦日焉、 | And I will turn your feasts into mourning, and all your songs into lamentation; and I will bring up sackcloth upon all loins, and baldness upon every head; and I will make it as the mourning of an only son, and the end thereof as a bitter day. |

| 12 | 人必踉蹌而行、自此海至彼海、自北至東、疾趨往來、尋耶和華之言而不得、 | And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east, they shall run to and fro to seek the word of the Lord, and shall not find it. |
| 13 | 是日也、美女少男、必因渴而疲憊、 | In that day shall the fair virgins and young men faint for thirst. |
| 14 | 凡指撒瑪利亞之罪而誓者曰、但乎、我指爾維生之神而誓、或曰、我指別是巴之生途而誓、其人必顚覆、永不復興、 | They that swear by the sin of Samaria, and say, Thy god, O Dan, liveth; and, The manner of Beer–sheba liveth; even they shall fall, and never rise up again. |
