| 1 | 如爾聽從爾上帝耶和華之言、遵行其誡、我今日所諭爾者、則爾上帝耶和華必舉爾升高、超乎天下萬民、 | And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the Lord thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth: |
| 2 | 如爾聽從爾上帝耶和華之言、則此諸福、必臨及爾、 | And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God. |
| 3 | 在邑獲福、在田獲福、 | Blessed shalt thou be in the city, and blessed shalt thou be in the field. |
| 4 | 身之所生、土之所產、畜之所出、牛羣之犢、羊羣之羔、並皆獲福、 | Blessed shall be the fruit of thy body, and the fruit of thy ground, and the fruit of thy cattle, the increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep. |
| 5 | 盛糧之筐、搏麪之器獲福、 | Blessed shall be thy basket and thy store. |
| 6 | 爾出獲福、爾入獲福、 | Blessed shalt thou be when thou comest in, and blessed shalt thou be when thou goest out. |
| 7 | 敵起攻爾、耶和華必使爾擊敗之、其攻爾也由一途、其逃爾也由七途、 | The Lord shall cause thine enemies that rise up against thee to be smitten before thy face: they shall come out against thee one way, and flee before thee seven ways. |
| 8 | 耶和華必降福於爾倉、及爾手之所爲、錫嘏於爾、在爾上帝耶和華所賜之地、 | The Lord shall command the blessing upon thee in thy storehouses, and in all that thou settest thine hand unto; and he shall bless thee in the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee. |
| 9 | 如爾守爾上帝耶和華之誡、遵行其道、則耶和華必踐其所誓、立爾爲己之聖民、 | The Lord shall establish thee an holy people unto himself, as he hath sworn unto thee, if thou shalt keep the commandments of the Lord thy God, and walk in his ways. |
| 10 | 天下億兆、將見爾稱以耶和華名、惟爾是畏、 | And all people of the earth shall see that thou art called by the name of the Lord; and they shall be afraid of thee. |
| 11 | 耶和華必使爾昌熾、身之所生、畜之所出、土之所產、俱蒙福祉、於耶和華所誓爾祖賜爾之地、 | And the Lord shall make thee plenteous in goods, in the fruit of thy body, and in the fruit of thy cattle, and in the fruit of thy ground, in the land which the Lord sware unto thy fathers to give thee. |
| 12 | 耶和華必爲爾啟其寶藏、使天降時雨於爾土、於爾凡百所爲、錫嘏於爾、爾貸金於列邦、而不告貸於彼、 | The Lord shall open unto thee his good treasure, the heaven to give the rain unto thy land in his season, and to bless all the work of thine hand: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, and thou shalt not borrow. |
| 13 | 如爾聽從爾上帝耶和華之誡命、我今日所諭爾者、謹守遵行、不偏左右、離我今日所諭之言、不從他神、而崇事之、則耶和華必以爾爲首、不以爾爲尾、使爾居上、不居於下、○ | And the Lord shall make thee the head, and not the tail; and thou shalt be above only, and thou shalt not be beneath; if that thou hearken unto the commandments of the Lord thy God, which I command thee this day, to observe and to do them: |
| 14 | 如爾聽從爾上帝耶和華之誡命、我今日所諭爾者、謹守遵行、不偏左右、離我今日所諭之言、不從他神、而崇事之、則耶和華必以爾爲首、不以爾爲尾、使爾居上、不居於下、○ | And thou shalt not go aside from any of the words which I command thee this day, to the right hand, or to the left, to go after other gods to serve them. |
| 15 | 如爾不聽爾上帝耶和華之言、不守其誡命典章、我今日所諭爾者、則此諸詛、必臨及爾、 | But it shall come to pass, if thou wilt not hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe to do all his commandments and his statutes which I command thee this day; that all these curses shall come upon thee, and overtake thee: |
| 16 | 在邑受詛、在田受詛、 | Cursed shalt thou be in the city, and cursed shalt thou be in the field. |
| 17 | 盛糧之筐、搏麪之器受詛、 | Cursed shall be thy basket and thy store. |
| 18 | 身之所生、土之所產、畜之所出、牛羣之犢、羊羣之羔、並皆受詛、 | Cursed shall be the fruit of thy body, and the fruit of thy land, the increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep. |
| 19 | 爾入受詛、爾出受詛、 | Cursed shalt thou be when thou comest in, and cursed shalt thou be when thou goest out. |
| 20 | 耶和華因爾行惡離棄彼、必於凡爾所爲、加爾咒詛、擾亂譴責、以致速亡、 | The Lord shall send upon thee cursing, vexation, and rebuke, in all that thou settest thine hand unto for to do, until thou be destroyed, and until thou perish quickly; because of the wickedness of thy doings, whereby thou hast forsaken me. |
| 21 | 耶和華必使疫癘附於爾身、以至滅爾於爾入據之地、 | The Lord shall make the pestilence cleave unto thee, until he have consumed thee from off the land, whither thou goest to possess it. |
| 22 | 耶和華必以癆疾、熱疾、炎疾、瘧疾、兵革、枯槁、霉爛擊爾、此災必追襲爾、致爾隕沒、 | The Lord shall smite thee with a consumption, and with a fever, and with an inflammation, and with an extreme burning, and with the sword, and with blasting, and with mildew; and they shall pursue thee until thou perish. |
| 23 | 覆爾之天如銅、載爾之地如鐵、 | And thy heaven that is over thy head shall be brass, and the earth that is under thee shall be iron. |
| 24 | 耶和華必以塵沙爲雨、自天降於爾土、俾爾滅亡、 | The Lord shall make the rain of thy land powder and dust: from heaven shall it come down upon thee, until thou be destroyed. |
| 25 | 耶和華必使爾爲敵所敗、爾攻之也由一途、爾逃之也由七途、拋棄於天下萬國之中、 | The Lord shall cause thee to be smitten before thine enemies: thou shalt go out one way against them, and flee seven ways before them: and shalt be removed into all the kingdoms of the earth. |
| 26 | 爾屍必爲飛禽走獸所食、無人逐之、 | And thy carcase shall be meat unto all fowls of the air, and unto the beasts of the earth, and no man shall fray them away. |
| 27 | 耶和華必以埃及人所患之癰、痔、疥、癬、不治之症、加乎爾身、 | The Lord will smite thee with the botch of Egypt, and with the emerods, and with the scab, and with the itch, whereof thou canst not be healed. |
| 28 | 又必使爾顚狂、目瞽心驚、 | The Lord shall smite thee with madness, and blindness, and astonishment of heart: |
| 29 | 雖在日中、猶如瞽者暗中摸索、所行所爲、不獲亨通、恆遭暴虐刦奪、無人救援、 | And thou shalt grope at noonday, as the blind gropeth in darkness, and thou shalt not prosper in thy ways: and thou shalt be only oppressed and spoiled evermore, and no man shall save thee. |
| 30 | 聘妻而人與之寢、築室而己不得居、植葡萄園而不得食其果、 | Thou shalt betroth a wife, and another man shall lie with her: thou shalt build an house, and thou shalt not dwell therein: thou shalt plant a vineyard, and shalt not gather the grapes thereof. |
| 31 | 爾牛被宰、爾目擊之、而不得食、爾驢被奪、爾目擊之、而不見返、爾羊付於爾敵、無人救爾、 | Thine ox shall be slain before thine eyes, and thou shalt not eat thereof: thine ass shall be violently taken away from before thy face, and shall not be restored to thee: thy sheep shall be given unto thine enemies, and thou shalt have none to rescue them. |
| 32 | 子女付於異族、爾將終日瞻望、至於目盲、無力拯之、 | Thy sons and thy daughters shall be given unto another people, and thine eyes shall look, and fail with longing for them all the day long: and there shall be no might in thine hand. |
| 33 | 爾之土產、及爾勞而得者、將爲爾所未識之民吞噬、爾惟受虐見迫、歷久如是、 | The fruit of thy land, and all thy labours, shall a nation which thou knowest not eat up; and thou shalt be only oppressed and crushed alway: |
| 34 | 爾目所見、必致顚狂、 | So that thou shalt be mad for the sight of thine eyes which thou shalt see. |
| 35 | 耶和華必以惡瘡、加於爾膝與股、自踵延及於頂、無術以療、 | The Lord shall smite thee in the knees, and in the legs, with a sore botch that cannot be healed, from the sole of thy foot unto the top of thy head. |
| 36 | 耶和華必以爾及爾所立之王、徙至爾與爾祖素所未識之國、在彼奉事木石之神、 | The Lord shall bring thee, and thy king which thou shalt set over thee, unto a nation which neither thou nor thy fathers have known; and there shalt thou serve other gods, wood and stone. |
| 37 | 於耶和華徙爾所至之國、必爲人所駭異、作諺語及話柄、 | And thou shalt become an astonishment, a proverb, and a byword, among all nations whither the Lord shall lead thee. |
| 38 | 爾之田畝、播種則多、獲實則少、蝗食故也、 | Thou shalt carry much seed out into the field, and shalt gather but little in; for the locust shall consume it. |
| 39 | 植葡萄園而治之、不收其果、不飲其酒、蟲食故也、 | Thou shalt plant vineyards, and dress them, but shalt neither drink of the wine, nor gather the grapes; for the worms shall eat them. |
| 40 | 四境有橄欖樹、不以其油膏身、果隕故也、 | Thou shalt have olive trees throughout all thy coasts, but thou shalt not anoint thyself with the oil; for thine olive shall cast his fruit. |
| 41 | 爾生子女、不爲爾有、被虜故也、 | Thou shalt beget sons and daughters, but thou shalt not enjoy them; for they shall go into captivity. |
| 42 | 爾囿之樹、爾地之產、爲蝗所食、 | All thy trees and fruit of thy land shall the locust consume. |
| 43 | 爾中賓旅、必愈升愈高、爾愈降愈卑、 | The stranger that is within thee shall get up above thee very high; and thou shalt come down very low. |
| 44 | 彼可貸金於爾、爾不貸金於彼、彼爲首、爾爲尾、 | He shall lend to thee, and thou shalt not lend to him: he shall be the head, and thou shalt be the tail. |
| 45 | 凡此諸詛、必追襲爾、臨及爾、俾爾滅亡、因爾不聽爾上帝耶和華所諭之言、守其誡命典章、 | Moreover all these curses shall come upon thee, and shall pursue thee, and overtake thee, till thou be destroyed; because thou hearkenedst not unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to keep his commandments and his statutes which he commanded thee: |
| 46 | 凡此諸詛、必爲異蹟奇事於爾、爰及子孫、歷世靡曁、 | And they shall be upon thee for a sign and for a wonder, and upon thy seed for ever. |
| 47 | 爾當富有之時、不中心欣喜、奉事爾上帝耶和華、 | Because thou servedst not the Lord thy God with joyfulness, and with gladness of heart, for the abundance of all things; |
| 48 | 爾必饑渴、裸裎、匱乏、服役於敵、耶和華所遣攻爾者、彼以鐵軛置於爾頸、迨爾滅亡、 | Therefore shalt thou serve thine enemies which the Lord shall send against thee, in hunger, and in thirst, and in nakedness, and in want of all things: and he shall put a yoke of iron upon thy neck, until he have destroyed thee. |
| 49 | 耶和華必使遠民、如鷹之飛、來自地極、以攻擊爾、其言爾不之識、 | The Lord shall bring a nation against thee from far, from the end of the earth, as swift as the eagle flieth; a nation whose tongue thou shalt not understand; |
| 50 | 其容強悍、不顧耆老、不恤幼穉、 | A nation of fierce countenance, which shall not regard the person of the old, nor shew favour to the young: |
| 51 | 爾畜所生、爾土所產、俱爲所食、迨爾滅亡、爾穀與酒及油、牛羣之犢、羊羣之羔、取之無遺、迨爾滅亡、 | And he shall eat the fruit of thy cattle, and the fruit of thy land, until thou be destroyed: which also shall not leave thee either corn, wine, or oil, or the increase of thy kine, or flocks of thy sheep, until he have destroyed thee. |
| 52 | 爾上帝耶和華所賜爾之全地、其中諸邑、城垣高固、爾所恃也、敵必困爾於中、迨其傾圮、 | And he shall besiege thee in all thy gates, until thy high and fenced walls come down, wherein thou trustedst, throughout all thy land: and he shall besiege thee in all thy gates throughout all thy land, which the Lord thy God hath given thee. |
| 53 | 被圍之時、受敵窘迫、至食子女之肉、爾上帝耶和華所賜者、 | And thou shalt eat the fruit of thine own body, the flesh of thy sons and of thy daughters, which the Lord thy God hath given thee, in the siege, and in the straitness, wherewith thine enemies shall distress thee: |
| 54 | 爾中荏弱嬌嫩之人、必怒視其兄弟、及懷中之妻室、遺留之子女、 | So that the man that is tender among you, and very delicate, his eye shall be evil toward his brother, and toward the wife of his bosom, and toward the remnant of his children which he shall leave: |
| 55 | 甚至彼於敵圍爾邑、窘迫之際、食其子女之肉、不肯分給親屬、無所遺餘故也、 | So that he will not give to any of them of the flesh of his children whom he shall eat: because he hath nothing left him in the siege, and in the straitness, wherewith thine enemies shall distress thee in all thy gates. |
| 56 | 爾中荏弱嬌嫩之婦、因其嫋娜、以足踐地、猶且不屑、必怒視其懷中之夫、與其子女、曁膝間之嬰孩、及凡所生、緣敵圍邑窘迫、而無所得、則私食之、 | The tender and delicate woman among you, which would not adventure to set the sole of her foot upon the ground for delicateness and tenderness, her eye shall be evil toward the husband of her bosom, and toward her son, and toward her daughter, |
| 57 | 爾中荏弱嬌嫩之婦、因其嫋娜、以足踐地、猶且不屑、必怒視其懷中之夫、與其子女、曁膝間之嬰孩、及凡所生、緣敵圍邑窘迫、而無所得、則私食之、 | And toward her young one that cometh out from between her feet, and toward her children which she shall bear: for she shall eat them for want of all things secretly in the siege and straitness, wherewith thine enemy shall distress thee in thy gates. |
| 58 | 如爾不守此書所載法律之言、不畏爾上帝耶和華尊榮可畏之名、 | If thou wilt not observe to do all the words of this law that are written in this book, that thou mayest fear this glorious and fearful name, THE LORD THY GOD; |
| 59 | 則耶和華必使爾遘奇異之災、至重至久之殃、艱苦纏綿之病、爰及苗裔、 | Then the Lord will make thy plagues wonderful, and the plagues of thy seed, even great plagues, and of long continuance, and sore sicknesses, and of long continuance. |
| 60 | 加以埃及諸疾、爾所畏者、必附爾身、 | Moreover he will bring upon thee all the diseases of Egypt, which thou wast afraid of; and they shall cleave unto thee. |
| 61 | 更有諸疾諸災、律書所未載者、耶和華亦以相加、迨爾滅亡、 | Also every sickness, and every plague, which is not written in the book of this law, them will the Lord bring upon thee, until thou be destroyed. |
| 62 | 昔爾人數、如天星之多、因不聽爾上帝耶和華命、致所遺無幾、 | And ye shall be left few in number, whereas ye were as the stars of heaven for multitude; because thou wouldest not obey the voice of the Lord thy God. |
| 63 | 昔耶和華以善待爾、昌熾爾爲悅、厥後以毀滅爾、殲殄爾爲悅、使爾絕於所入而得之地、 | And it shall come to pass, that as the Lord rejoiced over you to do you good, and to multiply you; so the Lord will rejoice over you to destroy you, and to bring you to nought; and ye shall be plucked from off the land whither thou goest to possess it. |
| 64 | 耶和華必散爾於列邦、自地極至天涯、在彼奉事木石之神、爾與爾祖所未識者、 | And the Lord shall scatter thee among all people, from the one end of the earth even unto the other; and there thou shalt serve other gods, which neither thou nor thy fathers have known, even wood and stone. |
| 65 | 在此族中、不獲綏安、無有駐足之所、耶和華必使爾心慄目盲、精神衰敗、 | And among these nations shalt thou find no ease, neither shall the sole of thy foot have rest: but the Lord shall give thee there a trembling heart, and failing of eyes, and sorrow of mind: |
| 66 | 爾之生命、懸寄危境、晝夜驚惶、料難保全、 | And thy life shall hang in doubt before thee; and thou shalt fear day and night, and shalt have none assurance of thy life: |
| 67 | 因心所懼、與目所見、朝必曰願得及暮、暮必曰願得及朝、 | In the morning thou shalt say, Would God it were even! and at even thou shalt say, Would God it were morning! for the fear of thine heart wherewith thou shalt fear, and for the sight of thine eyes which thou shalt see. |
| 68 | 往埃及之途、我曾諭爾、不復見之、耶和華必使爾駕舟復返、在彼自鬻於敵、爲僕爲婢、無人市爾、 | And the Lord shall bring thee into Egypt again with ships, by the way whereof I spake unto thee, Thou shalt see it no more again: and there ye shall be sold unto your enemies for bondmen and bondwomen, and no man shall buy you. |
