1 維時、耶和華諭我曰、爾琢石版二、其式如前、陟山詣我、且以木作匱、 At that time the Lord said unto me, Hew thee two tables of stone like unto the first, and come up unto me into the mount, and make thee an ark of wood.
2 爾前所碎之版、我復書其文於此版、爾置於匱、 And I will write on the tables the words that were in the first tables which thou brakest, and thou shalt put them in the ark.
3 我遂以皂莢木造匱、又琢石版二、其式如前、執以登山、 And I made an ark of shittim wood, and hewed two tables of stone like unto the first, and went up into the mount, having the two tables in mine hand.
4 耶和華乃循其前文、以爾大會之日、在山由火中所諭爾之十誡、書於版以賜我、 And he wrote on the tables, according to the first writing, the ten commandments, which the Lord spake unto you in the mount out of the midst of the fire in the day of the assembly: and the Lord gave them unto me.
5 我轉而下山、置諸所造之匱、遵耶和華所命、至今猶存、○ And I turned myself and came down from the mount, and put the tables in the ark which I had made; and there they be, as the Lord commanded me.
6 以色列人自比羅比尼亞干啟行、至摩西拉、亞倫死、葬於彼、其子以利亞撒繼任祭司之職、 And the children of Israel took their journey from Beeroth of the children of Jaakan to Mosera: there Aaron died, and there he was buried; and Eleazar his son ministered in the priest’s office in his stead.
7 由此啟行、至谷歌大、自谷歌大至約巴他、其地有溪、 From thence they journeyed unto Gudgodah; and from Gudgodah to Jotbath, a land of rivers of waters.
8 時、耶和華區別利未支派、使舁耶和華約匱、立於耶和華前、以崇事之、奉其名而禱祝、迄於今日、 At that time the Lord separated the tribe of Levi, to bear the ark of the covenant of the Lord, to stand before the Lord to minister unto him, and to bless in his name, unto this day.
9 故利未人在昆弟中、無分無業、耶和華爲其業、循爾上帝耶和華所言、 Wherefore Levi hath no part nor inheritance with his brethren; the Lord is his inheritance, according as the Lord thy God promised him.
10 我居於山、四十晝夜如昔、此次耶和華又復垂聽、不殲滅爾、 And I stayed in the mount, according to the first time, forty days and forty nights; and the Lord hearkened unto me at that time also, and the Lord would not destroy thee.
11 耶和華諭我曰、爾其啟行、導民入據我所誓許厥祖、賜彼之地、○ And the Lord said unto me, Arise, take thy journey before the people, that they may go in and possess the land, which I sware unto their fathers to give unto them.
12 以色列人歟、爾上帝耶和華何求於爾、第寅畏之、遵行其道、一心一意、愛之事之、 And now, Israel, what doth the Lord thy God require of thee, but to fear the Lord thy God, to walk in all his ways, and to love him, and to serve the Lord thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul,
13 守耶和華之誡命典章、我今日所諭爾者、俾爾獲益、 To keep the commandments of the Lord, and his statutes, which I command thee this day for thy good?
14 天與天上之天、地與地上所有、俱屬爾上帝耶和華、 Behold, the heaven and the heaven of heavens is the Lord’s thy God, the earth also, with all that therein is.
15 惟耶和華悅爾祖而愛之、於萬民中、選其苗裔卽爾、有如今日、 Only the Lord had a delight in thy fathers to love them, and he chose their seed after them, even you above all people, as it is this day.
16 故當祛除爾心之汚、勿復強項、 Circumcise therefore the foreskin of your heart, and be no more stiffnecked.
17 蓋爾上帝耶和華、爲萬神之神、萬主之主、惟皇上帝、有能可畏、不偏視、不受賄、 For the Lord your God is God of gods, and Lord of lords, a great God, a mighty, and a terrible, which regardeth not persons, nor taketh reward:
18 爲孤寡行鞫、爲羇旅施仁、賜之衣食、 He doth execute the judgment of the fatherless and widow, and loveth the stranger, in giving him food and raiment.
19 爾亦當愛旅人、緣爾曾旅於埃及、 Love ye therefore the stranger: for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt.
20 當寅畏爾上帝耶和華、事之附之、指其名而發誓、 Thou shalt fear the Lord thy God; him shalt thou serve, and to him shalt thou cleave, and swear by his name.
21 彼乃爾所頌美、爾之上帝、爲爾行此大而可畏之事、爾所目擊、 He is thy praise, and he is thy God, that hath done for thee these great and terrible things, which thine eyes have seen.
22 昔爾列祖下埃及時、惟七十人、今爾上帝耶和華、使爾如天星之多焉、 Thy fathers went down into Egypt with threescore and ten persons; and now the Lord thy God hath made thee as the stars of heaven for multitude.
