| 2 | 卽於命令未出、光陰未逝、其速如糠、耶和華烈怒未降、忿恚之日未至以先、會集而來、 | Before the decree bring forth, before the day pass as the chaff, before the fierce anger of the Lord come upon you, before the day of the Lord’s anger come upon you. |
| 3 | 大地之上、凡謙卑而守律例者、當尋求耶和華、尋求公義與謙卑、則於耶和華忿怒之日、庶可藏匿、 | Seek ye the Lord, all ye meek of the earth, which have wrought his judgment; seek righteousness, seek meekness: it may be ye shall be hid in the day of the Lord’s anger. |
| 4 | 迦薩必闃寂、亞實基倫必荒涼、亞實突亭午被逐、以革倫見拔、 | For Gaza shall be forsaken, and Ashkelon a desolation: they shall drive out Ashdod at the noon day, and Ekron shall be rooted up. |
| 5 | 禍哉、海濱居民、基利提族也、非利士人之地迦南歟、耶和華有言責爾、將殲滅爾、至無居民、 | Woe unto the inhabitants of the sea coast, the nation of the Cherethites! the word of the Lord is against you; O Canaan, the land of the Philistines, I will even destroy thee, that there shall be no inhabitant. |
| 6 | 瀕海之區、將爲草場、有牧人之廬、羣羊之牢、 | And the sea coast shall be dwellings and cottages for shepherds, and folds for flocks. |
| 7 | 海濱將歸於猶大家之遺民、牧畜於彼、暮則臥於亞實基倫之室、蓋其上帝耶和華必眷顧之、而返其俘囚也、 | And the coast shall be for the remnant of the house of Judah; they shall feed thereupon: in the houses of Ashkelon shall they lie down in the evening: for the Lord their God shall visit them, and turn away their captivity. |
| 8 | 摩押之毀謗、亞捫人之詬辱、我聞之矣、彼詆我民、自大而侵其境、 | I have heard the reproach of Moab, and the revilings of the children of Ammon, whereby they have reproached my people, and magnified themselves against their border. |
| 9 | 故萬軍之耶和華、以色列之上帝曰、我指己生而誓、摩押將如所多瑪、亞捫將如蛾摩拉、徧成蒺藜斥鹵之地、永久荒蕪、我之遺民、必虜其人、我之餘民、必據其土、 | Therefore as I live, saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, Surely Moab shall be as Sodom, and the children of Ammon as Gomorrah, even the breeding of nettles, and saltpits, and a perpetual desolation: the residue of my people shall spoil them, and the remnant of my people shall possess them. |
| 10 | 因彼驕矜自大、毀謗萬軍耶和華之民、故必遇此也、 | This shall they have for their pride, because they have reproached and magnified themselves against the people of the Lord of hosts. |
| 11 | 耶和華必向之顯爲可畏、使地上諸神受餒、列邦羣島之民、各在其所崇拜耶和華、 | The Lord will be terrible unto them: for he will famish all the gods of the earth; and men shall worship him, every one from his place, even all the isles of the heathen. |
| 12 | 古實人歟、爾亦必見戮於我刃、 | Ye Ethiopians also, ye shall be slain by my sword. |
| 13 | 耶和華將伸手向北、而滅亞述、使尼尼微荒蕪、旱乾如曠野、 | And he will stretch out his hand against the north, and destroy Assyria; and will make Nineveh a desolation, and dry like a wilderness. |
| 14 | 羣畜各類之獸、將臥其中、鵜鶘鸕鷀、棲於柱頂、鳴於窗牖、門閾闃寂、香柏之製、俱已剝落、 | And flocks shall lie down in the midst of her, all the beasts of the nations: both the cormorant and the bittern shall lodge in the upper lintels of it; their voice shall sing in the windows; desolation shall be in the thresholds: for he shall uncover the cedar work. |
| 15 | 此乃歡樂之邑、安居無慮、其心自謂惟我而已、我外無他、今奚荒寂、成爲獸臥之所、凡經過者、必搖手而嗤笑之、 | This is the rejoicing city that dwelt carelessly, that said in her heart, I am, and there is none beside me: how is she become a desolation, a place for beasts to lie down in! every one that passeth by her shall hiss, and wag his hand. |
