| 1 | 亞們子約西亞爲猶大王時、耶和華諭希西家玄孫、亞瑪利雅曾孫、基大利孫、古示子西番雅、 | The word of the Lord which came unto Zephaniah the son of Cushi, the son of Gedaliah, the son of Amariah, the son of Hizkiah, in the days of Josiah the son of Amon, king of Judah. |
| 2 | 耶和華曰、我必盡滅萬類於地、 | I will utterly consume all things from off the land, saith the Lord. |
| 3 | 殲滅人民牲畜、飛鳥海魚、及凡窒礙、與行惡者、我必絕人於地、耶和華言之矣、 | I will consume man and beast; I will consume the fowls of the heaven, and the fishes of the sea, and the stumblingblocks with the wicked; and I will cut off man from off the land, saith the Lord. |
| 4 | 我必舉手於猶大、及耶路撒冷居民、且在斯土、滅絕所遺之巴力、與基瑪琳之名、曁厥祭司、 | I will also stretch out mine hand upon Judah, and upon all the inhabitants of Jerusalem; and I will cut off the remnant of Baal from this place, and the name of the Chemarims with the priests; |
| 5 | 以及凡在屋巔、崇拜天象者、並崇拜耶和華、指耶和華而誓、亦指瑪勒堪而誓者、 | And them that worship the host of heaven upon the housetops; and them that worship and that swear by the Lord, and that swear by Malcham; |
| 6 | 與背耶和華、而不從之者、及不尋求耶和華、而不訪之者、○ | And them that are turned back from the Lord; and those that have not sought the Lord, nor enquired for him. |
| 7 | 在主耶和華前、爾宜靜默、蓋耶和華之日伊邇、耶和華已備祭品、區別其賓客矣、 | Hold thy peace at the presence of the Lord God: for the day of the Lord is at hand: for the Lord hath prepared a sacrifice, he hath bid his guests. |
| 8 | 至耶和華祭祀之日、必罰牧伯、與諸王子、及凡衣異服者、 | And it shall come to pass in the day of the Lord’s sacrifice, that I will punish the princes, and the king’s children, and all such as are clothed with strange apparel. |
| 9 | 是日凡踰門閾、以強暴詭詐充其主人之室者、我必罰之、 | In the same day also will I punish all those that leap on the threshold, which fill their masters’ houses with violence and deceit. |
| 10 | 耶和華曰、是日必有哀哭之聲、出自魚門、號咷之聲、出自二區、傾圮之聲、出自邱陵、 | And it shall come to pass in that day, saith the Lord, that there shall be the noise of a cry from the fish gate, and an howling from the second, and a great crashing from the hills. |
| 11 | 瑪革提施居民歟、爾其號咷、因貿易者敗亡、運銀者見絕矣、 | Howl, ye inhabitants of Maktesh, for all the merchant people are cut down; all they that bear silver are cut off. |
| 12 | 是時我將以燈遍索耶路撒冷、凡沉靜若酒滓、中心自謂、耶和華不降福、亦不降禍者、我必罰之、 | And it shall come to pass at that time, that I will search Jerusalem with candles, and punish the men that are settled on their lees: that say in their heart, The Lord will not do good, neither will he do evil. |
| 13 | 彼之貨財被掠、第宅荒蕪、建屋而不得居、植葡萄園而不得飲其酒、 | Therefore their goods shall become a booty, and their houses a desolation: they shall also build houses, but not inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, but not drink the wine thereof. |
| 14 | 耶和華之大日伊邇、旣近且速、耶和華之日有聲、勇士慘然號哭、 | The great day of the Lord is near, it is near, and hasteth greatly, even the voice of the day of the Lord: the mighty man shall cry there bitterly. |
| 15 | 是日乃震怒之日、急難困苦之日、毀滅淒涼之日、幽暗晦冥之日、密雲深黑之日、 | That day is a day of wrath, a day of trouble and distress, a day of wasteness and desolation, a day of darkness and gloominess, a day of clouds and thick darkness, |
| 16 | 吹角告警之日、將攻堅城高堞、 | A day of the trumpet and alarm against the fenced cities, and against the high towers. |
| 17 | 我必加苦於人、使其行走同於瞽者、以其獲罪於耶和華、其血傾如塵埃、其肉棄如糞土、 | And I will bring distress upon men, that they shall walk like blind men, because they have sinned against the Lord: and their blood shall be poured out as dust, and their flesh as the dung. |
| 18 | 耶和華震怒之日、彼之金銀不能救之、全地必爲其憤嫉之火所滅、凡居斯土者、必猝然滅絕、 | Neither their silver nor their gold shall be able to deliver them in the day of the Lord’s wrath; but the whole land shall be devoured by the fire of his jealousy: for he shall make even a speedy riddance of all them that dwell in the land. |
