1 以笏旣沒、以色列人又行耶和華所惡、 And the children of Israel again did evil in the sight of the Lord, when Ehud was dead.
2 耶和華付於都夏瑣之迦南王耶賓手、其帥西西拉、居外邦之夏羅設、 And the Lord sold them into the hand of Jabin king of Canaan, that reigned in Hazor; the captain of whose host was Sisera, which dwelt in Harosheth of the Gentiles.
3 有鐵車九百乘、虐待以色列人特甚、歷二十年、以色列人籲耶和華、○ And the children of Israel cried unto the Lord: for he had nine hundred chariots of iron; and twenty years he mightily oppressed the children of Israel.
4 時、有女先知、拉比多妻底波拉、爲以色列士師、 And Deborah, a prophetess, the wife of Lapidoth, she judged Israel at that time.
5 居以法蓮山地、拉瑪伯特利間、在底波拉之椶樹下、以色列人赴之、聽其審鞫、 And she dwelt under the palm tree of Deborah between Ramah and Beth–el in mount Ephraim: and the children of Israel came up to her for judgment.
6 彼遣人召亞比挪菴子巴拉、自拿弗他利之基低斯至、謂之曰、以色列之上帝耶和華、豈非諭爾云、當率拿弗他利西布倫二族萬人、往他泊山、 And she sent and called Barak the son of Abinoam out of Kedesh–naphtali, and said unto him, Hath not the Lord God of Israel commanded, saying, Go and draw toward mount Tabor, and take with thee ten thousand men of the children of Naphtali and of the children of Zebulun?
7 我必使耶賓之帥西西拉率車與衆、往基順河詣爾、付於爾手、 And I will draw unto thee to the river Kishon Sisera, the captain of Jabin’s army, with his chariots and his multitude; and I will deliver him into thine hand.
8 巴拉曰、爾偕我往則往、否則不往、 And Barak said unto her, If thou wilt go with me, then I will go: but if thou wilt not go with me, then I will not go.
9 曰、我必與爾偕往、然爾此行不獲榮顯、蓋耶和華將以西西拉付於婦手、遂起、偕往基低斯、 And she said, I will surely go with thee: notwithstanding the journey that thou takest shall not be for thine honour; for the Lord shall sell Sisera into the hand of a woman. And Deborah arose, and went with Barak to Kedesh.
10 巴拉集西布倫拿弗他利人於基低斯、隨之上者一萬、底波拉偕行、 And Barak called Zebulun and Naphtali to Kedesh; and he went up with ten thousand men at his feet: and Deborah went up with him.
11 摩西外戚、何巴之裔、基尼人希百、曾離本族、張幕於撒拿音之橡下、附近基低斯、 Now Heber the Kenite, which was of the children of Hobab the father in law of Moses, had severed himself from the Kenites, and pitched his tent unto the plain of Zaanaim, which is by Kedesh.
12 或告西西拉曰、亞比挪菴子巴拉上他泊山、 And they shewed Sisera that Barak the son of Abinoam was gone up to mount Tabor.
13 西西拉乃集鐵車九百、與其軍旅、由外邦之夏羅設至基順河、 And Sisera gathered together all his chariots, even nine hundred chariots of iron, and all the people that were with him, from Harosheth of the Gentiles unto the river of Kishon.
14 底波拉謂巴拉曰、爾起、今日乃耶和華以西西拉付於爾手之日、耶和華非爲爾先導乎、於是巴拉下他泊山、萬人隨之、 And Deborah said unto Barak, Up; for this is the day in which the Lord hath delivered Sisera into thine hand: is not the Lord gone out before thee? So Barak went down from mount Tabor, and ten thousand men after him.
15 耶和華刃擊、潰亂西西拉及其車乘軍旅、於巴拉前、西西拉下車、徒行而遁、 And the Lord discomfited Sisera, and all his chariots, and all his host, with the edge of the sword before Barak; so that Sisera lighted down off his chariot, and fled away on his feet.
16 巴拉追其車卒、至外邦夏羅設、西西拉全軍悉隕於刃、靡有孑遺、 But Barak pursued after the chariots, and after the host, unto Harosheth of the Gentiles: and all the host of Sisera fell upon the edge of the sword; and there was not a man left.
17 西西拉徒行、逃至基尼人希百妻雅億之幕、蓋夏瑣王耶賓與希百家和好、 Howbeit Sisera fled away on his feet to the tent of Jael the wife of Heber the Kenite: for there was peace between Jabin the king of Hazor and the house of Heber the Kenite.
18 雅億出迎、謂曰、我主請入、毋懼、遂入其幕、雅億以衾覆之、 And Jael went out to meet Sisera, and said unto him, Turn in, my lord, turn in to me; fear not. And when he had turned in unto her into the tent, she covered him with a mantle.
19 西西拉曰、我渴、請以少許之水飲我、遂啟革囊、飲之以乳、仍覆以衾、 And he said unto her, Give me, I pray thee, a little water to drink; for I am thirsty. And she opened a bottle of milk, and gave him drink, and covered him.
20 又曰、爾立幕門、如有來詢者曰、有人在此否、爾則曰無、 Again he said unto her, Stand in the door of the tent, and it shall be, when any man doth come and enquire of thee, and say, Is there any man here? that thou shalt say, No.
21 西西拉憊而酣寢、雅億取幕釘、手執椎、輕步而前、以釘貫其鬢際、釘之於地、遂昏眩而死、 Then Jael Heber’s wife took a nail of the tent, and took an hammer in her hand, and went softly unto him, and smote the nail into his temples, and fastened it into the ground: for he was fast asleep and weary. So he died.
22 時、巴拉追至、雅億出迓曰、來、我以爾所求者示爾、巴拉入幕、見西西拉偃臥而死、幕釘尚在鬢際、 And, behold, as Barak pursued Sisera, Jael came out to meet him, and said unto him, Come, and I will shew thee the man whom thou seekest. And when he came into her tent, behold, Sisera lay dead, and the nail was in his temples.
23 如是上帝使迦南王耶賓服於以色列人、 So God subdued on that day Jabin the king of Canaan before the children of Israel.
24 以色列人日強、勝迦南王耶賓、至於滅之、 And the hand of the children of Israel prospered, and prevailed against Jabin the king of Canaan, until they had destroyed Jabin king of Canaan.
