| 1 | 基列耶琳人至舁耶和華匱、詣山中亞比拿達室、區別其子以利亞撒守之、○ | And the men of Kirjath–jearim came, and fetched up the ark of the Lord, and brought it into the house of Abinadab in the hill, and sanctified Eleazar his son to keep the ark of the Lord. |
| 2 | 匱在基列耶琳、歷日已久、凡二十年、以色列家思慕耶和華、 | And it came to pass, while the ark abode in Kirjath–jearim, that the time was long; for it was twenty years: and all the house of Israel lamented after the Lord. |
| 3 | 撒母耳告以色列家曰、如爾一心歸耶和華、則必除異族之神、及亞斯他錄於爾中、專心歸耶和華、而獨事之、則彼援爾於非利士人手、 | And Samuel spake unto all the house of Israel, saying, If ye do return unto the Lord with all your hearts, then put away the strange gods and Ashtaroth from among you, and prepare your hearts unto the Lord, and serve him only: and he will deliver you out of the hand of the Philistines. |

| 6 | 遂集於米斯巴、汲水傾於耶和華前、是日禁食、曰、我獲罪於耶和華、撒母耳在米斯巴、爲以色列族聽訟、 | And they gathered together to Mizpeh, and drew water, and poured it out before the Lord, and fasted on that day, and said there, We have sinned against the Lord. And Samuel judged the children of Israel in Mizpeh. |
| 7 | 非利士人聞以色列衆集於米斯巴、其牧伯遂上、欲攻之、以色列族聞之、則懼、 | And when the Philistines heard that the children of Israel were gathered together to Mizpeh, the lords of the Philistines went up against Israel. And when the children of Israel heard it, they were afraid of the Philistines. |
| 8 | 謂撒母耳曰、爲我籲我上帝耶和華勿輟、俾援我於非利士人手、 | And the children of Israel said to Samuel, Cease not to cry unto the Lord our God for us, that he will save us out of the hand of the Philistines. |
| 9 | 撒母耳取哺乳之羔一、獻於耶和華、爲全牲燔祭、爲以色列族籲耶和華、耶和華允焉、 | And Samuel took a sucking lamb, and offered it for a burnt offering wholly unto the Lord: and Samuel cried unto the Lord for Israel; and the Lord heard him. |
| 10 | 撒母耳獻燔祭時、非利士人進與以色列人戰、是日耶和華發大雷、潰亂非利士人、遂敗於以色列人前、 | And as Samuel was offering up the burnt offering, the Philistines drew near to battle against Israel: but the Lord thundered with a great thunder on that day upon the Philistines, and discomfited them; and they were smitten before Israel. |

| 12 | 撒母耳取一石、立於米斯巴與善間、名之曰以便以謝、曰、延及此時、耶和華助我儕、 | Then Samuel took a stone, and set it between Mizpeh and Shen, and called the name of it Eben–ezer, saying, Hitherto hath the Lord helped us. |
| 13 | 於是非利士人屈服、不再侵以色列境、撒母耳存日、耶和華之手、制非利士人、 | So the Philistines were subdued, and they came no more into the coast of Israel: and the hand of the Lord was against the Philistines all the days of Samuel. |
| 14 | 非利士人所取以色列之邑、自以革倫至迦特、悉反之、邑之四境、以色列人亦援之於非利士人手、是時以色列人與亞摩利人和好、 | And the cities which the Philistines had taken from Israel were restored to Israel, from Ekron even unto Gath; and the coasts thereof did Israel deliver out of the hands of the Philistines. And there was peace between Israel and the Amorites. |
