| 1 | 爾曹其聽耶和華言、曰起向諸山爭辯、俾諸陵聽爾之聲、 | Hear ye now what the Lord saith; Arise, contend thou before the mountains, and let the hills hear thy voice. |
| 2 | 諸山及永固之地基歟、其聽耶和華之爭辯、蓋耶和華有爭論於其民、必與以色列爭辯、 | Hear ye, O mountains, the Lord’s controversy, and ye strong foundations of the earth: for the Lord hath a controversy with his people, and he will plead with Israel. |
| 3 | 我民歟、我於爾何爲、何事煩爾、爾其對我證之、 | O my people, what have I done unto thee? and wherein have I wearied thee? testify against me. |
| 4 | 昔我導爾出埃及地、贖爾脫奴隸之室、遣摩西亞倫米利暗行於爾前、 | For I brought thee up out of the land of Egypt, and redeemed thee out of the house of servants; and I sent before thee Moses, Aaron, and Miriam. |
| 5 | 我民歟、爾其憶摩押王巴勒所謀、及比珥子巴蘭所以應之、且憶自什亭至吉甲、所遇之事、俾爾知耶和華公義之行爲、○ | O my people, remember now what Balak king of Moab consulted, and what Balaam the son of Beor answered him from Shittim unto Gilgal; that ye may know the righteousness of the Lord. |
| 6 | 我詣耶和華、跪拜至上之上帝、當奉何物、豈以燔祭及盈歲之犢、而詣之乎、 | Wherewith shall I come before the Lord, and bow myself before the high God? shall I come before him with burnt offerings, with calves of a year old? |
| 7 | 耶和華豈悅牡羊千千、或油溪萬萬乎、我豈可因己過、獻我首生之子、緣我魂之罪、獻我身之果乎、 | Will the Lord be pleased with thousands of rams, or with ten thousands of rivers of oil? shall I give my firstborn for my transgression, the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul? |
| 8 | 人乎、耶和華已示爾何者爲善、彼所求於爾者、非惟行公義、好仁慈、謙卑與爾上帝偕行乎、○ | He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God? |
| 9 | 耶和華之聲、向斯邑而呼、智者必寅畏其名、其聽厥杖、而知爲誰所定、 | The Lord’s voice crieth unto the city, and the man of wisdom shall see thy name: hear ye the rod, and who hath appointed it. |
| 10 | 惡人之家、非尚有不義之財、與可憎之小量乎、 | Are there yet the treasures of wickedness in the house of the wicked, and the scant measure that is abominable? |
| 11 | 我若有不公之衡、囊中有欺誑之石、豈得爲潔乎、 | Shall I count them pure with the wicked balances, and with the bag of deceitful weights? |
| 12 | 邑中富人、充於強暴、居民言誑、口舌詭譎、 | For the rich men thereof are full of violence, and the inhabitants thereof have spoken lies, and their tongue is deceitful in their mouth. |
| 13 | 故我擊爾、俾受重傷、以爾諸罪、使爾寂寞、 | Therefore also will I make thee sick in smiting thee, in making thee desolate because of thy sins. |
| 14 | 爾將食而不飽、腹中空虛、雖遷爾賄、不得保存、卽有保存、我必付之於刃、 | Thou shalt eat, but not be satisfied; and thy casting down shall be in the midst of thee; and thou shalt take hold, but shalt not deliver; and that which thou deliverest will I give up to the sword. |
| 15 | 爾將播而不穫、踐橄欖不得沐其油、踐葡萄不得飲其酒、 | Thou shalt sow, but thou shalt not reap; thou shalt tread the olives, but thou shalt not anoint thee with oil; and sweet wine, but shalt not drink wine. |
| 16 | 蓋尚有守暗利之例、從亞哈家所爲者、而爾遵循其謀、我必使爾寂寞、斯土居民、爲人嗤笑、我民之辱、爾必任之、 | For the statutes of Omri are kept, and all the works of the house of Ahab, and ye walk in their counsels; that I should make thee a desolation, and the inhabitants thereof an hissing: therefore ye shall bear the reproach of my people. |
