| 1 | 法利賽人及撒都該人、來試耶穌、請以自天之異兆示之、 | The Pharisees also with the Sadducees came, and tempting desired him that he would shew them a sign from heaven. |
| 2 | 耶穌曰、暮時、爾云將晴、以天紅也、 | He answered and said unto them, When it is evening, ye say, It will be fair weather: for the sky is red. |
| 3 | 朝時、爾云今日風雨、以天紅而晦也、爾識別天色、而不識此時之異兆耶、 | And in the morning, It will be foul weather to day: for the sky is red and lowring. O ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky; but can ye not discern the signs of the times? |
| 4 | 姦惡之世而求異兆、約拿異兆而外、無以示之、遂去之、○ | A wicked and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given unto it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas. And he left them, and departed. |
| 5 | 門徒濟彼岸、忘攜餅、 | And when his disciples were come to the other side, they had forgotten to take bread. |
| 6 | 耶穌謂之曰、謹防法利賽撒都該人之酵、 | Then Jesus said unto them, Take heed and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees. |
| 7 | 門徒竊議曰、是爲不取餅也、 | And they reasoned among themselves, saying, It is because we have taken no bread. |
| 8 | 耶穌知之、曰、小信者乎、曷以無餅竊議耶、 | Which when Jesus perceived, he said unto them, O ye of little faith, why reason ye among yourselves, because ye have brought no bread? |
| 9 | 爾猶未悟乎、豈不憶五千人之五餅、拾屑幾筐乎、 | Do ye not yet understand, neither remember the five loaves of the five thousand, and how many baskets ye took up? |
| 10 | 又四千人之七餅、拾屑幾籃乎、 | Neither the seven loaves of the four thousand, and how many baskets ye took up? |
| 11 | 何不悟我非爲餅而言、惟當防法利賽撒都該人之酵耳、 | How is it that ye do not understand that I spake it not to you concerning bread, that ye should beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees? |
| 12 | 門徒乃悟其所言、非防餅之酵、乃法利賽撒都該人之教也、○ | Then understood they how that he bade them not beware of the leaven of bread, but of the doctrine of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees. |
| 13 | 耶穌至該撒利亞腓立比境、問其徒曰、人言人子爲誰、 | When Jesus came into the coasts of Cesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am? |
| 14 | 對曰、或言施洗約翰、或言以利亞、或言耶利米、抑先知之一、 | And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets. |
| 15 | 曰、爾曹謂我爲誰、 | He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? |
| 16 | 西門彼得對曰、爾乃基督、維生上帝子也、 | And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. |
| 17 | 耶穌曰、西門巴約拿福矣、蓋非有血氣者示爾、乃我在天之父也、 | And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Bar–jona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. |
| 18 | 吾又語汝、爾乃彼得、我將建我會於此磐、而陰府之權、不能勝之、 | And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. |
| 19 | 我將以天國之鑰予爾、凡爾繫於地者、在天亦繫之、釋於地者、在天亦釋之、 | And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. |
| 20 | 遂戒門徒、勿以己爲基督告人、○ | Then charged he his disciples that they should tell no man that he was Jesus the Christ. |
| 21 | 自是耶穌始示其徒、以己必往耶路撒冷、備受長老祭司諸長士子之苦、且見殺、三日而起、 | From that time forth began Jesus to shew unto his disciples, how that he must go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised again the third day. |
| 22 | 彼得援而諫之曰、主、不可、此必不及爾也、 | Then Peter took him, and began to rebuke him, saying, Be it far from thee, Lord: this shall not be unto thee. |
| 23 | 耶穌回顧彼得曰、撒但退、爾阻我、以爾不體上帝之事、乃體人之事耳、 | But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men. |
| 24 | 遂語其徒曰、欲從我者、當克己、負其十架以從、 | Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. |
| 25 | 蓋欲救其生者、將喪之、爲我而喪其生者、將得之、 | For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it. |
| 26 | 利盡天下、而失其生、何益之有、人將以何者易其生乎、 | For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? |
| 27 | 蓋人子將以父之榮、偕厥使而來、依人所行而報之、 | For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works. |
| 28 | 我誠語汝、立於此者、有人未死之先、得見人子臨於其國矣、 | Verily I say unto you, There be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom. |
