1 耶穌召十二門徒、賜之以權、逐邪鬼、醫疾病、○ And when he had called unto him his twelve disciples, he gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease.
2 十二使徒之名如左、首西門稱彼得、及其弟安得烈、西庇太子雅各、及其弟約翰、 Now the names of the twelve apostles are these; The first, Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother; James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother;
3 腓力、巴多羅買、多馬、稅吏馬太、亞勒腓子雅各、並達太、 Philip, and Bartholomew; Thomas, and Matthew the publican; James the son of Alpheus, and Lebbeus, whose surname was Thaddeus;
4 加那尼人西門、與加畧人猶大、卽賣師者、○ Simon the Canaanite, and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed him.
5 耶穌遣此十二人、命之曰、異邦之途勿由、撒瑪利亞之邑勿入、 These twelve Jesus sent forth, and commanded them, saying, Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter ye not:
6 寧就以色列家之亡羊也、 But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
7 往則宣言曰、天國邇矣、 And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand.
8 醫病、起死、潔癩、逐鬼、爾以不費受之、宜以不費施之、 Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.
9 勿備金銀銅於袋、 Provide neither gold, nor silver, nor brass in your purses,
10 途間勿囊、勿二衣、勿履、勿杖、蓋工得其食、宜也、 Nor scrip for your journey, neither two coats, neither shoes, nor yet staves: for the workman is worthy of his meat.
11 入邑與鄉、則訪孰爲宜者、主之、直至去時、 And into whatsoever city or town ye shall enter, enquire who in it is worthy; and there abide till ye go thence.
12 入其家、則祝其安、 And when ye come into an house, salute it.
13 其家若宜、爾祝之安必臨之、不宜、爾祝之安則歸己、 And if the house be worthy, let your peace come upon it: but if it be not worthy, let your peace return to you.
14 凡不接爾、不聽爾者、出其家其邑、拂去足塵、 And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words, when ye depart out of that house or city, shake off the dust of your feet.
15 我誠語汝、當鞫日、所多瑪蛾摩拉之刑、較斯邑猶易受也、○ Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment, than for that city.
16 我遣爾似羊入狼中、故當智如蛇、馴如鴿、 Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.
17 謹防若人、蓋將付爾於公會、鞭爾於會堂、 But beware of men: for they will deliver you up to the councils, and they will scourge you in their synagogues;
18 爾將爲我故、見解至侯王前、爲證於彼、及異邦人、 And ye shall be brought before governors and kings for my sake, for a testimony against them and the Gentiles.
19 付爾時、勿慮何以言、何所言、屆時必賜爾以何言也、 But when they deliver you up, take no thought how or what ye shall speak: for it shall be given you in that same hour what ye shall speak.
20 非爾自言、乃爾父之神、在爾衷言耳、 For it is not ye that speak, but the Spirit of your Father which speaketh in you.
21 兄弟將致兄弟於死、父之於子亦然、子將攻父母而死之、 And the brother shall deliver up the brother to death, and the father the child: and the children shall rise up against their parents, and cause them to be put to death.
22 且爾以我名見憾於衆、惟終忍者得救也、 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved.
23 此邑窘逐爾、則奔彼邑、我誠語汝、以色列諸邑、爾行未遍、而人子至矣、○ But when they persecute you in this city, flee ye into another: for verily I say unto you, Ye shall not have gone over the cities of Israel, till the Son of man be come.
24 徒不踰師、僕不踰主、 The disciple is not above his master, nor the servant above his lord.
25 徒如師、僕如主、足矣、若呼家主爲別西卜、況其家人乎、 It is enough for the disciple that he be as his master, and the servant as his lord. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebub, how much more shall they call them of his household?
26 勿懼之、未有藏而不露、隱而不顯者也、 Fear them not therefore: for there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; and hid, that shall not be known.
27 我語爾於暗者、當述之於光明、爾所聆於耳者、當宣之於屋上、 What I tell you in darkness, that speak ye in light: and what ye hear in the ear, that preach ye upon the housetops.
28 殺身而不能殺魂者、勿懼之、寧懼能滅身及魂於地獄者、 And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.
29 二雀非一分金售乎、然非爾父許之、其一不隕於地、 Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father.
30 爾髮亦悉見數、 But the very hairs of your head are all numbered.
31 故勿懼、爾較多雀尤貴也、 Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows.
32 凡認我於人前、我亦認之於我天父前、 Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven.
33 凡不認我於人前、我亦不認之於我天父前、○ But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.
34 勿意我來施和平於世、我來非施和平、乃興戎耳、 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
35 蓋我來、俾子疏其父、女疏其母、婦疏其姑、 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
36 而仇敵卽家人矣、 And a man’s foes shall be they of his own household.
37 愛父母踰於我者、不宜乎我也、愛子女踰於我者、不宜乎我也、 He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.
38 不負其十架而從我者、亦不宜乎我也、 And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me.
39 得生命者、將喪之、爲我而喪生命者、將得之、○ He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it.
40 接爾者、卽接我、接我者、卽接遣我者也、 He that receiveth you receiveth me, and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me.
41 接先知以其爲先知者、得先知之賞、接義人以其爲義人者、得義人之賞、 He that receiveth a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet’s reward; and he that receiveth a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous man’s reward.
42 第以杯水飲此小子之一、以其爲吾徒也、我誠語汝、彼必不失其賞也、 And whosoever shall give to drink unto one of these little ones a cup of cold water only in the name of a disciple, verily I say unto you, he shall in no wise lose his reward.
