1 越二日乃逾越節、卽除酵節也、祭司諸長士子、謀以詭計執耶穌而殺之、 After two days was the feast of the passover, and of unleavened bread: and the chief priests and the scribes sought how they might take him by craft, and put him to death.
2 曰、勿於節期、恐民生亂、○ But they said, Not on the feast day, lest there be an uproar of the people.
3 耶穌在伯大尼癩者西門家席坐、一婦以玉甁盛至純至貴那達膏來、破玉甁、沃其首、 And being in Bethany in the house of Simon the leper, as he sat at meat, there came a woman having an alabaster box of ointment of spikenard very precious; and she brake the box, and poured it on his head.
4 有憾之者曰、靡費此膏何爲耶、 And there were some that had indignation within themselves, and said, Why was this waste of the ointment made?
5 此膏可鬻金三十有奇、以濟貧也、遂尤之、 For it might have been sold for more than three hundred pence, and have been given to the poor. And they murmured against her.
6 耶穌曰、姑聽之、何難之耶、其行於我者善也、 And Jesus said, Let her alone; why trouble ye her? she hath wrought a good work on me.
7 蓋爾恆有貧者偕、欲善視之、隨時皆能、惟不恆有我也、 For ye have the poor with you always, and whensoever ye will ye may do them good: but me ye have not always.
8 婦乃以其所能者爲之、豫膏我躬、以備葬耳、 She hath done what she could: she is come aforehand to anoint my body to the burying.
9 我誠語汝、普天之下、凡宣福音之地、必述此婦所行、以爲之記、○ Verily I say unto you, Wheresoever this gospel shall be preached throughout the whole world, this also that she hath done shall be spoken of for a memorial of her.
10 十二徒之一、加畧人猶大、詣祭司諸長、欲以耶穌付之、 And Judas Iscariot, one of the twelve, went unto the chief priests, to betray him unto them.
11 彼聞之喜、許予之金、遂尋機付之、○ And when they heard it, they were glad, and promised to give him money. And he sought how he might conveniently betray him.
12 除酵節首日、卽宰逾越節羔之期也、其徒曰、欲我何處備爾食逾越節筵乎、 And the first day of unleavened bread, when they killed the passover, his disciples said unto him, Where wilt thou that we go and prepare that thou mayest eat the passover?
13 耶穌遣其徒二人、語之曰、爾往入城、將遇攜水甁者、爾從之、 And he sendeth forth two of his disciples, and saith unto them, Go ye into the city, and there shall meet you a man bearing a pitcher of water: follow him.
14 入何所、卽謂其家主曰、師云、客舍安在、將偕我徒食逾越節筵於彼也、 And wheresoever he shall go in, say ye to the goodman of the house, The Master saith, Where is the guestchamber, where I shall eat the passover with my disciples?
15 彼將以大樓示爾、陳設已具、在彼可爲我儕備焉、 And he will shew you a large upper room furnished and prepared: there make ready for us.
16 門徒出、入城、果如所言、遂備節筵、○ And his disciples went forth, and came into the city, and found as he had said unto them: and they made ready the passover.
17 旣暮、耶穌偕十二徒至、 And in the evening he cometh with the twelve.
18 席間曰、我誠語汝、爾中一人與我共食、將賣我矣、 And as they sat and did eat, Jesus said, Verily I say unto you, One of you which eateth with me shall betray me.
19 門徒憂之、遞相問曰、我乎、 And they began to be sorrowful, and to say unto him one by one, Is it I? and another said, Is it I?
20 耶穌曰、彼十二中之一、與我濡手於盂者是也、 And he answered and said unto them, It is one of the twelve, that dippeth with me in the dish.
21 人子將逝、如經所載、惟賣人子者禍矣、其人不生爲幸、○ The Son of man indeed goeth, as it is written of him: but woe to that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! good were it for that man if he had never been born.
22 食時、耶穌取餅、祝而擘之、予門徒曰、取之、斯乃我身、 And as they did eat, Jesus took bread, and blessed, and brake it, and gave to them, and said, Take, eat: this is my body.
23 又取杯、謝而予之、衆皆飲焉、 And he took the cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them: and they all drank of it.
24 耶穌曰、斯乃我血、卽盟約之血、爲衆而流者、 And he said unto them, This is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many.
25 我誠語汝、我不復飲葡萄之汁、迨他日我飲新者於上帝國矣、○ Verily I say unto you, I will drink no more of the fruit of the vine, until that day that I drink it new in the kingdom of God.
26 旣詠詩、遂出、往橄欖山、○ And when they had sung an hymn, they went out into the mount of Olives.
27 耶穌謂其徒曰、爾皆將棄我、記有之、我擊牧者、而羊散矣、 And Jesus saith unto them, All ye shall be offended because of me this night: for it is written, I will smite the shepherd, and the sheep shall be scattered.
28 但我復起後、將先爾往加利利、 But after that I am risen, I will go before you into Galilee.
29 彼得曰、衆雖棄爾、惟我不然、 But Peter said unto him, Although all shall be offended, yet will not I.
30 耶穌曰、我誠語汝、今夜鷄二鳴之先、爾將三言不識我矣、 And Jesus saith unto him, Verily I say unto thee, That this day, even in this night, before the cock crow twice, thou shalt deny me thrice.
31 彼得力言曰、我卽與爾偕亡、必不言不識爾、衆言亦如之、○ But he spake the more vehemently, If I should die with thee, I will not deny thee in any wise. Likewise also said they all.
32 至一處、名客西馬尼、耶穌謂門徒曰、坐此、俟我祈禱、 And they came to a place which was named Gethsemane: and he saith to his disciples, Sit ye here, while I shall pray.
33 遂攜彼得雅各約翰偕往、驚駭慘怛、 And he taketh with him Peter and James and John, and began to be sore amazed, and to be very heavy;
34 曰、我心憂甚、瀕死矣、爾曹留此儆醒、 And saith unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful unto death: tarry ye here, and watch.
35 少進、伏地祈曰、若或能之、俾免此時、 And he went forward a little, and fell on the ground, and prayed that, if it were possible, the hour might pass from him.
36 又曰、阿爸、父乎、爾諸事能之、使此杯去我、然非從我所欲、乃從爾所欲也、 And he said, Abba, Father, all things are possible unto thee; take away this cup from me: nevertheless not what I will, but what thou wilt.
37 旣返、見門徒寢、語彼得曰、西門、爾寢乎、不能儆醒片時乎、 And he cometh, and findeth them sleeping, and saith unto Peter, Simon, sleepest thou? couldest not thou watch one hour?
38 儆醒祈禱、免入誘惑、心固願之、而身弱耳、 Watch ye and pray, lest ye enter into temptation. The spirit truly is ready, but the flesh is weak.
39 又往祈禱、言亦如之、 And again he went away, and prayed, and spake the same words.
40 復返、見門徒仍寢、因目倦甚、不知所對、 And when he returned, he found them asleep again, (for their eyes were heavy,) neither wist they what to answer him.
41 三返、謂之曰、今寢且安、已矣、時至矣、人子見賣於惡人手矣、 And he cometh the third time, and saith unto them, Sleep on now, and take your rest: it is enough, the hour is come; behold, the Son of man is betrayed into the hands of sinners.
42 起而偕行、賣我者近矣、○ Rise up, let us go; lo, he that betrayeth me is at hand.
43 言時、十二徒之一猶大、偕衆以刃與梃、自祭司諸長、士子、長老、而來、 And immediately, while he yet spake, cometh Judas, one of the twelve, and with him a great multitude with swords and staves, from the chief priests and the scribes and the elders.
44 賣之者曾予以號曰、我接吻者是也、執而固曳之、 And he that betrayed him had given them a token, saying, Whomsoever I shall kiss, that same is he; take him, and lead him away safely.
45 至則就耶穌曰、夫子、遂吻接之、 And as soon as he was come, he goeth straightway to him, and saith, Master, master; and kissed him.
46 衆乃著手執之、 And they laid their hands on him, and took him.
47 旁立者一人、拔刃擊大祭司僕、削其一耳、 And one of them that stood by drew a sword, and smote a servant of the high priest, and cut off his ear.
48 耶穌語衆曰、爾以刃與梃來執我、若捕盜乎、 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Are ye come out, as against a thief, with swords and with staves to take me?
49 我日偕爾於殿訓誨、爾不我執、然經所載必應矣、 I was daily with you in the temple teaching, and ye took me not: but the scriptures must be fulfilled.
50 門徒皆離之而奔、○ And they all forsook him, and fled.
51 有少者裸而披以枲布從耶穌、衆執之、 And there followed him a certain young man, having a linen cloth cast about his naked body; and the young men laid hold on him:
52 遂棄枲布、裸而奔、○ And he left the linen cloth, and fled from them naked.
53 衆曳耶穌至大祭司前、祭司諸長、長老、士子咸集、 And they led Jesus away to the high priest: and with him were assembled all the chief priests and the elders and the scribes.
54 彼得遠從耶穌、入大祭司院、與諸隸同坐而向火、 And Peter followed him afar off, even into the palace of the high priest: and he sat with the servants, and warmed himself at the fire.
55 祭司諸長及全公會、求證攻耶穌而死之、弗得、 And the chief priests and all the council sought for witness against Jesus to put him to death; and found none.
56 蓋以妄證攻之者多、而所證不符、 For many bare false witness against him, but their witness agreed not together.
57 有起而妄證者數人、 And there arose certain, and bare false witness against him, saying,
58 曰、我儕嘗聞其言云、此殿乃手所作、我將毀之、三日別建一殿、非手所作者、 We heard him say, I will destroy this temple that is made with hands, and within three days I will build another made without hands.
59 但其所證亦不符、 But neither so did their witness agree together.
60 大祭司立於中、問耶穌曰、爾無所答乎、斯人所證者何耶、 And the high priest stood up in the midst, and asked Jesus, saying, Answerest thou nothing? what is it which these witness against thee?
61 耶穌不答、大祭司復問曰、爾乃宜頌者之子基督乎、 But he held his peace, and answered nothing. Again the high priest asked him, and said unto him, Art thou the Christ, the Son of the Blessed?
62 耶穌曰、是也、爾曹將見人子坐有權者之右、乘雲而來也、 And Jesus said, I am: and ye shall see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven.
63 大祭司自裂其衣、曰、安用他證乎、 Then the high priest rent his clothes, and saith, What need we any further witnesses?
64 爾已聞其僭妄矣、爾意若何、衆擬其宜死、 Ye have heard the blasphemy: what think ye? And they all condemned him to be guilty of death.
65 或唾之、且掩其面、以拳擊之曰、爾試豫言焉、諸隸執而批之、○ And some began to spit on him, and to cover his face, and to buffet him, and to say unto him, Prophesy: and the servants did strike him with the palms of their hands.
66 彼得在院內、大祭司之婢至、 And as Peter was beneath in the palace, there cometh one of the maids of the high priest:
67 見彼得向火、目之曰、爾亦偕拿撒勒人耶穌者、 And when she saw Peter warming himself, she looked upon him, and said, And thou also wast with Jesus of Nazareth.
68 彼得弗承、曰、我不知、亦不識爾云何也、遂出、至前院、鷄卽鳴、 But he denied, saying, I know not, neither understand I what thou sayest. And he went out into the porch; and the cock crew.
69 婢見之、復語旁立者曰、彼亦其黨、 And a maid saw him again, and began to say to them that stood by, This is one of them.
70 彼得復不承、頃之、旁立者謂之曰、爾誠其黨、以爾乃加利利人也、 And he denied it again. And a little after, they that stood by said again to Peter, Surely thou art one of them: for thou art a Galilean, and thy speech agreeth thereto.
71 彼得詛且誓曰、爾所言若人、我不識也、 But he began to curse and to swear, saying, I know not this man of whom ye speak.
72 鷄再鳴矣、彼得憶耶穌所言、鷄二鳴之先、爾將三言不識我、思之則哭矣、 And the second time the cock crew. And Peter called to mind the word that Jesus said unto him, Before the cock crow twice, thou shalt deny me thrice. And when he thought thereon, he wept.
