1 除酵節伊邇、亦名逾越節、 Now the feast of unleavened bread drew nigh, which is called the Passover.
2 祭司諸長與士子、謀何以殺耶穌、畏民故也、○ And the chief priests and scribes sought how they might kill him; for they feared the people.
3 撒但入於猶大、稱以色加畧者、十二徒之一也、 Then entered Satan into Judas surnamed Iscariot, being of the number of the twelve.
4 詣祭司諸長及殿司、相議如何以耶穌付之、 And he went his way, and communed with the chief priests and captains, how he might betray him unto them.
5 衆喜、約予之金、 And they were glad, and covenanted to give him money.
6 猶大允諾、乃尋機於衆不在時付之、○ And he promised, and sought opportunity to betray him unto them in the absence of the multitude.
7 除酵日至、當宰逾越羔時也、 Then came the day of unleavened bread, when the passover must be killed.
8 耶穌遣彼得約翰曰、爾往備逾越節筵、我儕食焉、 And he sent Peter and John, saying, Go and prepare us the passover, that we may eat.
9 曰、欲我何處備之、 And they said unto him, Where wilt thou that we prepare?
10 曰、入邑將有挈水甁者遇爾、可從之入室、 And he said unto them, Behold, when ye are entered into the city, there shall a man meet you, bearing a pitcher of water; follow him into the house where he entereth in.
11 告其家主曰、師云客舍安在、將偕門徒食逾越節筵於彼、 And ye shall say unto the goodman of the house, The Master saith unto thee, Where is the guestchamber, where I shall eat the passover with my disciples?
12 彼將以陳設之大樓示爾、在彼備之可也、 And he shall shew you a large upper room furnished: there make ready.
13 門徒往、果如所言、遂備節筵、○ And they went, and found as he had said unto them: and they made ready the passover.
14 屆時、耶穌席坐、使徒偕之、 And when the hour was come, he sat down, and the twelve apostles with him.
15 耶穌曰、我深願於受害之先、偕爾食此節筵也、 And he said unto them, With desire I have desired to eat this passover with you before I suffer:
16 蓋我語汝、我不復食之、迨其事應於上帝國焉、 For I say unto you, I will not any more eat thereof, until it be fulfilled in the kingdom of God.
17 遂接杯祝謝、曰、取此分於爾衆、 And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and said, Take this, and divide it among yourselves:
18 我語汝、今而後、我不飲葡萄樹所產者、迨上帝國臨焉、 For I say unto you, I will not drink of the fruit of the vine, until the kingdom of God shall come.
19 又取餅祝謝、擘而予之、曰、斯乃我身、爲爾捐者、爾其行此以憶我、 And he took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me.
20 餐後、取杯亦然、曰、此杯乃新約、以我血爲爾流者也、 Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood, which is shed for you.
21 試觀賣我者、其手偕我在席也、 But, behold, the hand of him that betrayeth me is with me on the table.
22 人子固如所定者而逝、惟賣之者其人禍矣、 And truly the Son of man goeth, as it was determined: but woe unto that man by whom he is betrayed!
23 衆互問誰將爲此、○ And they began to enquire among themselves, which of them it was that should do this thing.
24 門徒互爭其中孰大、 And there was also a strife among them, which of them should be accounted the greatest.
25 耶穌謂之曰、異邦之君主其治、秉權者稱爲恩主、 And he said unto them, The kings of the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and they that exercise authority upon them are called benefactors.
26 爾則不然、爾中爲大者、當若少、爲首者、當若役、 But ye shall not be so: but he that is greatest among you, let him be as the younger; and he that is chief, as he that doth serve.
27 孰爲大、席坐者乎、役事者乎、非席坐者大乎、然我在爾中、如役事者也、 For whether is greater, he that sitteth at meat, or he that serveth? is not he that sitteth at meat? but I am among you as he that serveth.
28 爾曹恆偕我於諸試中、 Ye are they which have continued with me in my temptations.
29 我以國封爾、如我父封我然、 And I appoint unto you a kingdom, as my Father hath appointed unto me;
30 俾爾在我國、飲食於我席、爾亦將居於位、鞫以色列十二支焉、 That ye may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom, and sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
31 西門、西門、撒但嘗索爾曹、欲簸爾若麥、 And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat:
32 然我已爲爾祈、使爾之信無闕、迨爾反正後、堅爾兄弟也、 But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.
33 曰、主、我已備偕爾入獄蹈死矣、 And he said unto him, Lord, I am ready to go with thee, both into prison, and to death.
34 曰、彼得、我語汝、今日鷄尚未鳴、爾將三言不識我也、○ And he said, I tell thee, Peter, the cock shall not crow this day, before that thou shalt thrice deny that thou knowest me.
35 乃謂門徒曰、我遣爾時、無囊、無袋、無履、爾有所缺乎、曰、無、 And he said unto them, When I sent you without purse, and scrip, and shoes, lacked ye any thing? And they said, Nothing.
36 曰、今有囊者攜之、袋亦然、無刀者、賣衣買刀、 Then said he unto them, But now, he that hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise his scrip: and he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one.
37 我語汝、經所記、人視之爲罪犯中人、必應於我、蓋所關於我者將終也、 For I say unto you, that this that is written must yet be accomplished in me, And he was reckoned among the transgressors: for the things concerning me have an end.
38 門徒曰、主、有二刀於此、曰、足矣、○ And they said, Lord, behold, here are two swords. And he said unto them, It is enough.
39 耶穌出、依然往橄欖山、其徒從之、 And he came out, and went, as he was wont, to the mount of Olives; and his disciples also followed him.
40 至其處、謂之曰、爾其祈禱、免入於試、 And when he was at the place, he said unto them, Pray that ye enter not into temptation.
41 遂離之、約投石之遠、屈膝祈禱、 And he was withdrawn from them about a stone’s cast, and kneeled down, and prayed,
42 曰、父歟、若欲之、則將此杯去我、然非我旨、惟爾旨是成、 Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.
43 有使者自天而見、壯之、 And there appeared an angel unto him from heaven, strengthening him.
44 耶穌傷痛、祈禱愈切、汗如滴血落地、 And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground.
45 禱畢、起就門徒、見其因憂而寐、 And when he rose up from prayer, and was come to his disciples, he found them sleeping for sorrow,
46 謂之曰、何寢乎、起而禱、免入於試、○ And said unto them, Why sleep ye? rise and pray, lest ye enter into temptation.
47 言時、衆至、十二徒之一猶大者、先衆而前、就耶穌、欲吻接之、 And while he yet spake, behold a multitude, and he that was called Judas, one of the twelve, went before them, and drew near unto Jesus to kiss him.
48 耶穌語之曰、猶大、爾以接吻賣人子乎、 But Jesus said unto him, Judas, betrayest thou the Son of man with a kiss?
49 左右見事將及、則曰、主、我儕以刀擊之可乎、 When they which were about him saw what would follow, they said unto him, Lord, shall we smite with the sword?
50 其中一人擊大祭司之僕、削其右耳、 And one of them smote the servant of the high priest, and cut off his right ear.
51 耶穌曰、旣至此、姑容之、遂捫其耳而醫之、 And Jesus answered and said, Suffer ye thus far. And he touched his ear, and healed him.
52 乃謂來攻之祭司諸長、殿司、長老曰、爾來以刃與梃、若捕盜乎、 Then Jesus said unto the chief priests, and captains of the temple, and the elders, which were come to him, Be ye come out, as against a thief, with swords and staves?
53 我日偕爾在殿、爾未伸手攻我、但今乃爾曹之時、幽暗之權矣、○ When I was daily with you in the temple, ye stretched forth no hands against me: but this is your hour, and the power of darkness.
54 衆執耶穌、曳至大祭司宅、彼得遙從之、 Then took they him, and led him, and brought him into the high priest’s house. And Peter followed afar off.
55 衆於院中、燃火同坐、彼得亦坐其間、 And when they had kindled a fire in the midst of the hall, and were set down together, Peter sat down among them.
56 有婢見彼得向火而坐、注視之曰、此人亦偕之、 But a certain maid beheld him as he sat by the fire, and earnestly looked upon him, and said, This man was also with him.
57 彼得不承、曰、女乎、我不識之、 And he denied him, saying, Woman, I know him not.
58 有頃、又一人見之、曰、爾亦其黨、彼得曰、人乎、非也、 And after a little while another saw him, and said, Thou art also of them. And Peter said, Man, I am not.
59 逾半時、復有一人力言曰、此人實偕之、蓋加利利人也、 And about the space of one hour after another confidently affirmed, saying, Of a truth this fellow also was with him: for he is a Galilean.
60 彼得曰、人乎、我不識爾云何也、言時、鷄卽鳴、 And Peter said, Man, I know not what thou sayest. And immediately, while he yet spake, the cock crew.
61 主回顧彼得、彼得憶主所言、曰、鷄鳴之先、爾將三言不識我、 And the Lord turned, and looked upon Peter. And Peter remembered the word of the Lord, how he had said unto him, Before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice.
62 遂出而痛哭、○ And Peter went out, and wept bitterly.
63 執耶穌者、戲而扑之、 And the men that held Jesus mocked him, and smote him.
64 掩其目、問曰、試言擊爾者誰、 And when they had blindfolded him, they struck him on the face, and asked him, saying, Prophesy, who is it that smote thee?
65 又以多端謗讟之、 And many other things blasphemously spake they against him.
66 及旦、民之長老、祭司諸長、士子咸集、曳耶穌至公會、 And as soon as it was day, the elders of the people and the chief priests and the scribes came together, and led him into their council, saying,
67 曰、爾若基督、其告我、曰、我若告爾、爾必不信、 Art thou the Christ? tell us. And he said unto them, If I tell you, ye will not believe:
68 詰爾、爾亦不應、 And if I also ask you, ye will not answer me, nor let me go.
69 今而後、人子將坐於大權上帝之右矣、 Hereafter shall the Son of man sit on the right hand of the power of God.
70 僉曰、然則爾爲上帝子乎、曰、爾言是也、 Then said they all, Art thou then the Son of God? And he said unto them, Ye say that I am.
71 衆曰、尚須何證、我儕由其口親聞之矣、 And they said, What need we any further witness? for we ourselves have heard of his own mouth.
