| 1 | 禍哉血邑、詭譎強暴充滿、刦奪不息、 | Woe to the bloody city! it is all full of lies and robbery; the prey departeth not; |
| 2 | 鞭聲振振、車輪轟轟、馬馳驟、車奔騰、 | The noise of a whip, and the noise of the rattling of the wheels, and of the pransing horses, and of the jumping chariots. |
| 3 | 騎兵衝突、劍光芒、戈閃爍、被殺者多、尸身堆積、屍骸無數、人蹶於上、 | The horseman lifteth up both the bright sword and the glittering spear: and there is a multitude of slain, and a great number of carcases; and there is none end of their corpses; they stumble upon their corpses: |
| 4 | 蓋此美妓多淫、工行邪術、以淫行鬻列邦、以邪術鬻諸族、 | Because of the multitude of the whoredoms of the wellfavoured harlot, the mistress of witchcrafts, that selleth nations through her whoredoms, and families through her witchcrafts. |
| 5 | 萬軍之耶和華曰、我爲爾敵、必揭爾裙、以蒙爾面、以爾裸體示於列國、以爾醜辱示於萬邦、 | Behold, I am against thee, saith the Lord of hosts; and I will discover thy skirts upon thy face, and I will shew the nations thy nakedness, and the kingdoms thy shame. |
| 6 | 且以可憎之穢、投於爾身、使爾鄙陋、爲衆目所視、 | And I will cast abominable filth upon thee, and make thee vile, and will set thee as a gazingstock. |
| 7 | 凡見爾者、必逃避爾曰、尼尼微荒蕪、誰哀悼之、慰藉爾者、我何由而尋之乎、 | And it shall come to pass, that all they that look upon thee shall flee from thee, and say, Nineveh is laid waste: who will bemoan her? whence shall I seek comforters for thee? |
| 8 | 爾豈愈於挪亞們乎、彼居河間、諸水縈繞、以水爲塹、以水爲垣、 | Art thou better than populous No, that was situate among the rivers, that had the waters round about it, whose rampart was the sea, and her wall was from the sea? |
| 9 | 古實埃及、爲彼之力、其力無窮、弗與路比、爲彼之助、 | Ethiopia and Egypt were her strength, and it was infinite; Put and Lubim were thy helpers. |
| 10 | 惟彼被徙、而爲俘囚、嬰孩被擲、碎於街隅、其顯者、敵爲之掣籤、其大人、則繫之以鏈、 | Yet was she carried away, she went into captivity: her young children also were dashed in pieces at the top of all the streets: and they cast lots for her honourable men, and all her great men were bound in chains. |
| 11 | 爾將沈醉而昏、因敵而尋衞所、 | Thou also shalt be drunken: thou shalt be hid, thou also shalt seek strength because of the enemy. |
| 12 | 爾諸保障、如無花果之初實、一經搖撼、則落於食者之口、 | All thy strong holds shall be like fig trees with the firstripe figs: if they be shaken, they shall even fall into the mouth of the eater. |
| 13 | 爾境之民、同於婦女、爾國之門、啟於敵前、門楗爲火所焚、 | Behold, thy people in the midst of thee are women: the gates of thy land shall be set wide open unto thine enemies: the fire shall devour thy bars. |
| 14 | 爾其汲水以備受困、堅爾保障、踐泥擣土、執持磚模、 | Draw thee waters for the siege, fortify thy strong holds: go into clay, and tread the morter, make strong the brickkiln. |
| 15 | 任爾多若蝻蝗、衆若蟿螽、在彼火將焚爾、刃將滅爾、如爲蝻蝗所吞、 | There shall the fire devour thee; the sword shall cut thee off, it shall eat thee up like the cankerworm: make thyself many as the cankerworm, make thyself many as the locusts. |
| 16 | 爾增商賈、多於天星蝻蝗食盡而去、 | Thou hast multiplied thy merchants above the stars of heaven: the cankerworm spoileth, and flieth away. |
| 17 | 爾之牧伯、有若蝗蟲、爾之軍長、有若蚱蜢成羣、日寒棲於藩籬、日出而去、不知其所、 | Thy crowned are as the locusts, and thy captains as the great grasshoppers, which camp in the hedges in the cold day, but when the sun ariseth they flee away, and their place is not known where they are. |
| 18 | 亞述王乎、爾之民牧寢矣、爾之顯者休矣、民衆散於山間、無人集之、 | Thy shepherds slumber, O king of Assyria: thy nobles shall dwell in the dust: thy people is scattered upon the mountains, and no man gathereth them. |
| 19 | 爾傷莫能減之、爾創甚劇、凡聞爾之音耗者、必向爾鼓掌、蓋爾之兇惡、誰未屢受之耶、 | There is no healing of thy bruise; thy wound is grievous: all that hear the bruit of thee shall clap the hands over thee: for upon whom hath not thy wickedness passed continually? |
