1 兄弟乎、今我示爾、昔我所宣於爾之福音、卽爾所受而賴之以立者、 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
2 爾若守之、而所信非虛、則由之得救、 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
3 我以所受授爾、首焉者、卽基督依經所載、爲我罪而死、 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
4 旣葬、三日復起、亦依經言也、 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
5 見於磯法、次見於十二使徒、 And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve:
6 又同時見於兄弟五百餘人、其中雖有已寢者、然強半猶存焉、 After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep.
7 又見於雅各、見於諸使徒、 After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles.
8 卒見於我、如未及產期而生者、 And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time.
9 我乃使徒之微者、曾窘逐上帝會、不堪稱爲使徒也、 For I am the least of the apostles, that am not meet to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God.
10 我今爲何如人、乃由上帝之恩、其恩施我非徒然也、我服勞越衆、要非我也、上帝之恩偕我也、 But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.
11 無論我與彼、如此宣之、爾曹亦如此信之、○ Therefore whether it were I or they, so we preach, and so ye believed.
12 旣宣基督自死復起、何爾中有謂無死而復起者乎、 Now if Christ be preached that he rose from the dead, how say some among you that there is no resurrection of the dead?
13 若無死者復起、則基督未起、 But if there be no resurrection of the dead, then is Christ not risen:
14 基督未起、則我之所宣乃虛、爾之信亦虛、 And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain.
15 死者不起、則上帝未嘗起基督、而我證其起之、適爲妄證於上帝、 Yea, and we are found false witnesses of God; because we have testified of God that he raised up Christ: whom he raised not up, if so be that the dead rise not.
16 死者不起、則基督未嘗見起、 For if the dead rise not, then is not Christ raised:
17 基督未起、則爾之信徒然、而爾仍在罪中矣、 And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins.
18 其宗基督而已寢者、亦淪亡焉、 Then they also which are fallen asleep in Christ are perished.
19 若我儕望於基督者、第在今生、則較衆尤爲可憫也、○ If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.
20 然基督誠自死復起、爲諸寢者先、 But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept.
21 旣因乎人而致死、亦因乎人而致死者復起、 For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead.
22 蓋如在亞當而衆死、亦在基督而衆復生、 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.
23 但各依其序、基督爲先、次則屬基督者、於其臨格時也、 But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ’s at his coming.
24 基督旣廢諸政、諸權、諸能、付其國於父上帝、則末期至矣、 Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power.
25 蓋基督必秉權、迨置諸敵於其足下、 For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet.
26 其終所滅之敵、卽死也、 The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.
27 經云、上帝服萬有於其足下、旣曰服萬有、則服萬有者不在其中也、明矣、 For he hath put all things under his feet. But when he saith all things are put under him, it is manifest that he is excepted, which did put all things under him.
28 萬有旣服之、則子亦服於服萬有者、俾上帝爲萬有於萬有之中、○ And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, that God may be all in all.
29 不然、爲死者受洗何爲耶、若死者槪不復起、則爲之受洗何故也、 Else what shall they do which are baptized for the dead, if the dead rise not at all? why are they then baptized for the dead?
30 且我儕何爲恆冒險哉、 And why stand we in jeopardy every hour?
31 兄弟乎、我於我主基督耶穌、因爾而誇者爲誓、我乃日日死也、 I protest by your rejoicing which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily.
32 昔我於以弗所、若效常人鬬獸、有何益哉、若死者不見起、毋寧式飲式食、蓋明日將死矣、 If after the manner of men I have fought with beasts at Ephesus, what advantageth it me, if the dead rise not? let us eat and drink; for to morrow we die.
33 勿受欺、濫交敗善行、 Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.
34 宜儆醒以行義、勿干罪、蓋有不知上帝者、我言此以愧爾、○ Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame.
35 或問死者如何見起、以若何之體而來乎、 But some man will say, How are the dead raised up? and with what body do they come?
36 愚哉、爾所播者、不死則不生、 Thou fool, that which thou sowest is not quickened, except it die:
37 且所播者、非將有之體、或麥或他穀、惟粒耳、 And that which thou sowest, thou sowest not that body that shall be, but bare grain, it may chance of wheat, or of some other grain:
38 上帝隨意賜體、種各有其體、 But God giveth it a body as it hath pleased him, and to every seed his own body.
39 形軀非一、有人獸禽魚之別、 All flesh is not the same flesh: but there is one kind of flesh of men, another flesh of beasts, another of fishes, and another of birds.
40 有在天之體、有在地之體、在天者之榮、異於在地者、 There are also celestial bodies, and bodies terrestrial: but the glory of the celestial is one, and the glory of the terrestrial is another.
41 日有其榮、月有其榮、星有其榮、而此星之榮、異於彼星、 There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars: for one star differeth from another star in glory.
42 死者復起亦然、播於必朽、起於不朽、 So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption:
43 播於辱而起於榮、播於弱而起於強、 It is sown in dishonour; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power:
44 播乃血氣之體、起則靈性之體、旣有血氣之體、亦有靈性之體、 It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body.
45 經云、始之亞當、成維生之魂、終之亞當、爲賜生之靈、 And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.
46 然屬靈者非在先、屬血氣者在先、屬靈者繼之、 Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual.
47 先者本乎地而屬土、後者乃本乎天、 The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven.
48 屬土者如何、凡屬土者亦如何、屬天者如何、凡屬天者亦如何、 As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly.
49 我儕旣有屬土者之狀、亦將有屬天者之狀矣、○ And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly.
50 兄弟乎、我謂血氣不能承上帝國、必朽不能承不朽、 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.
51 我以奧祕示爾、我儕不盡寢、乃將盡化、 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
52 頃刻瞬息之間、於末次角響時則然、蓋角將響、死者見起而不朽、而我儕化矣、 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
53 此必朽者、將衣以不朽、此必死者、將衣以不死、 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
54 必朽者旣衣以不朽、必死者旣衣以不死、所記死被消滅者之言、應矣、 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.
55 死乎、爾勝安在、死乎、爾鋒安在、 O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?
56 死之鋒罪也、罪之權律也、 The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.
57 感謝上帝、賜我儕由主耶穌基督得勝焉、 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
58 故我所愛之兄弟、當貞固不搖、恆務主工、蓋知爾曹之勞、於主非徒然也、 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.
