Be Faithful to Your Wife
My son, if you listen closely to my wisdom and good sense,
My son, attend unto my wisdom, and bow thine ear to my understanding:
you will have sound judgment, and you will always know the right thing to say. That thou mayest regard discretion, and that thy lips may keep knowledge.
The words of an immoral woman may be as sweet as honey and as smooth as olive oil. For the lips of a strange woman drop as an honeycomb, and her mouth is smoother than oil:
But all that you really get from being with her is bitter poison and pain. But her end is bitter as wormwood, sharp as a twoedged sword.
If you follow her, she will lead you down to the world of the dead. Her feet go down to death; her steps take hold on hell.
She has missed the path that leads to life and doesn't even know it. Lest thou shouldest ponder the path of life, her ways are moveable, that thou canst not know them.
My son, listen to me and do everything I say. Hear me now therefore, O ye children, and depart not from the words of my mouth.
Stay away from a bad woman! Don't even go near the door of her house. Remove thy way far from her, and come not nigh the door of her house:
You will lose your self-respect and end up in debt to some cruel person for the rest of your life. Lest thou give thine honour unto others, and thy years unto the cruel:
Strangers will get your money and everything else you have worked for. Lest strangers be filled with thy wealth; and thy labours be in the house of a stranger;
When it's all over, your body will waste away, as you groan And thou mourn at the last, when thy flesh and thy body are consumed,
and shout, “I hated advice and correction! And say, How have I hated instruction, and my heart despised reproof;
I paid no attention to my teachers, And have not obeyed the voice of my teachers, nor inclined mine ear to them that instructed me!
and now I am disgraced in front of everyone.” I was almost in all evil in the midst of the congregation and assembly.
You should be faithful to your wife, just as you take water from your own well. Drink waters out of thine own cistern, and running waters out of thine own well.
And don't be like a stream from which just any woman may take a drink. Let thy fountains be dispersed abroad, and rivers of waters in the streets.
Save yourself for your wife and don't have sex with other women. Let them be only thine own, and not strangers’ with thee.
Be happy with the wife you married when you were young. Let thy fountain be blessed: and rejoice with the wife of thy youth.
She is beautiful and graceful, just like a deer; you should be attracted to her and stay deeply in love. Let her be as the loving hind and pleasant roe; let her breasts satisfy thee at all times; and be thou ravished always with her love.
Don't go crazy over a woman who is unfaithful to her own husband! And why wilt thou, my son, be ravished with a strange woman, and embrace the bosom of a stranger?
The Lord sees everything, and he watches us closely. For the ways of man are before the eyes of the Lord, and he pondereth all his goings.
Sinners are trapped and caught by their own evil deeds. His own iniquities shall take the wicked himself, and he shall be holden with the cords of his sins.
They get lost and die because of their foolishness and lack of self-control. He shall die without instruction; and in the greatness of his folly he shall go astray.
