Elihu Continues / You Men Think You Are Wise
Elihu said:
Furthermore Elihu answered and said,
You men think you are wise, but just listen to me! Hear my words, O ye wise men; and give ear unto me, ye that have knowledge.
Think about my words, as you would taste food. For the ear trieth words, as the mouth tasteth meat.
Then we can decide the case and give a just verdict. Let us choose to us judgment: let us know among ourselves what is good.
Job claims he is innocent and God is guilty of mistreating him. For Job hath said, I am righteous: and God hath taken away my judgment.
Job also argues that God considers him a liar and that he is suffering severely in spite of his innocence. Should I lie against my right? my wound is incurable without transgression.
But to tell the truth, Job is shameless! What man is like Job, who drinketh up scorning like water?
He spends his time with sinners, Which goeth in company with the workers of iniquity, and walketh with wicked men.
because he has said, “It doesn't pay to please God.” For he hath said, It profiteth a man nothing that he should delight himself with God.

If Any of You Are Smart
If any of you are smart, you will listen and learn that God All-Powerful does what is right.
Therefore hearken unto me, ye men of understanding: far be it from God, that he should do wickedness; and from the Almighty, that he should commit iniquity.
God always treats everyone the way they deserve, For the work of a man shall he render unto him, and cause every man to find according to his ways.
and he is never unfair. Yea, surely God will not do wickedly, neither will the Almighty pervert judgment.
From the very beginning, God has been in control of all the world. Who hath given him a charge over the earth? or who hath disposed the whole world?
If God took back the breath that he breathed into us, If he set his heart upon man, if he gather unto himself his spirit and his breath;
we humans would die and return to the soil. All flesh shall perish together, and man shall turn again unto dust.
So be smart and listen! If now thou hast understanding, hear this: hearken to the voice of my words.
The mighty God is the one who brings about justice, and you are condemning him. Shall even he that hateth right govern? and wilt thou condemn him that is most just?
Indeed, God is the one who condemns unfair rulers. Is it fit to say to a king, Thou art wicked? and to princes, Ye are ungodly?
And God created us all; he has no favorites, whether rich or poor. How much less to him that accepteth not the persons of princes, nor regardeth the rich more than the poor? for they all are the work of his hands.
Even powerful rulers die in the darkness of night when they least expect it, just like the rest of us. In a moment shall they die, and the people shall be troubled at midnight, and pass away: and the mighty shall be taken away without hand.

God Watches Everything We Do
God watches everything we do.
For his eyes are upon the ways of man, and he seeth all his goings.
No evil person can hide in the deepest darkness. There is no darkness, nor shadow of death, where the workers of iniquity may hide themselves.
And so, God doesn't need to set a time for judgment. For he will not lay upon man more than right; that he should enter into judgment with God.
Without asking for advice, God removes mighty leaders and puts others in their place. He shall break in pieces mighty men without number, and set others in their stead.
He knows what they are like, and he wipes them out in the middle of the night. Therefore he knoweth their works, and he overturneth them in the night, so that they are destroyed.
And while others look on, he punishes them because they were evil He striketh them as wicked men in the open sight of others;
and refused to obey him. Because they turned back from him, and would not consider any of his ways:
The persons they mistreated had prayed for help, until God answered their prayers. So that they cause the cry of the poor to come unto him, and he heareth the cry of the afflicted.
When God does nothing, can any person or nation find fault with him? When he giveth quietness, who then can make trouble? and when he hideth his face, who then can behold him? whether it be done against a nation, or against a man only:
But still, he punishes rulers who abuse their people. That the hypocrite reign not, lest the people be ensnared.
Job, you should tell God that you are guilty and promise to do better. Surely it is meet to be said unto God, I have borne chastisement, I will not offend any more:
Then ask him to point out what you did wrong, so you won't do it again. That which I see not teach thou me: if I have done iniquity, I will do no more.
Do you make the rules, or does God? You have to decide— I can't do it for you; now make up your mind. Should it be according to thy mind? he will recompense it, whether thou refuse, or whether thou choose; and not I: therefore speak what thou knowest.
Job, anyone with good sense can easily see Let men of understanding tell me, and let a wise man hearken unto me.
that you are speaking nonsense and lack good judgment. Job hath spoken without knowledge, and his words were without wisdom.
So I pray for you to suffer as much as possible for talking like a sinner. My desire is that Job may be tried unto the end because of his answers for wicked men.
You have rebelled against God, time after time, and have even insulted us. For he addeth rebellion unto his sin, he clappeth his hands among us, and multiplieth his words against God.
