The Can Be Trusted
Praise the Lord and pray in his name! Tell everyone what he has done.
O give thanks unto the Lord; call upon his name: make known his deeds among the people.
Sing praises to the Lord! Tell about his miracles. Sing unto him, sing psalms unto him: talk ye of all his wondrous works.
Celebrate and worship his holy name with all your heart. Glory ye in his holy name: let the heart of them rejoice that seek the Lord.
Trust the Lord and his mighty power. Seek the Lord, and his strength: seek his face evermore.
Remember his miracles and all his wonders and his fair decisions. Remember his marvellous works that he hath done; his wonders, and the judgments of his mouth;
You belong to the family of Abraham, his servant; you are his chosen ones, the descendants of Jacob. O ye seed of Abraham his servant, ye children of Jacob his chosen.
The Lord is our God, bringing justice everywhere on earth. He is the Lord our God: his judgments are in all the earth.
He will never forget his agreement or his promises, not in thousands of years. * He hath remembered his covenant for ever, the word which he commanded to a thousand generations.
God made an eternal promise Which covenant he made with Abraham, and his oath unto Isaac;
to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, And confirmed the same unto Jacob for a law, and to Israel for an everlasting covenant:
when he said, “I'll give you the land of Canaan.” Saying, Unto thee will I give the land of Canaan, the lot of your inheritance:
At the time there were only a few of us, and we were homeless. When they were but a few men in number; yea, very few, and strangers in it.
We wandered from nation to nation, from one country to another. When they went from one nation to another, from one kingdom to another people;
God did not let anyone mistreat our people. Instead he protected us by punishing rulers He suffered no man to do them wrong: yea, he reproved kings for their sakes;
and telling them, “Don't touch my chosen leaders or harm my prophets!” Saying, Touch not mine anointed, and do my prophets no harm.
God kept crops from growing until food was scarce everywhere in the land. Moreover he called for a famine upon the land: he brake the whole staff of bread.
But he had already sent Joseph, sold as a slave into Egypt, He sent a man before them, even Joseph, who was sold for a servant:
with chains of iron around his legs and neck. Whose feet they hurt with fetters: he was laid in iron:
Joseph remained a slave until his own words had come true, and the Lord had finished testing him. Until the time that his word came: the word of the Lord tried him.
Then the king of Egypt set Joseph free The king sent and loosed him; even the ruler of the people, and let him go free.
and put him in charge of everything he owned. He made him lord of his house, and ruler of all his substance:
Joseph was in command of the officials, and he taught the leaders how to use wisdom. To bind his princes at his pleasure; and teach his senators wisdom.
Jacob and his family came and settled in Egypt as foreigners. Israel also came into Egypt; and Jacob sojourned in the land of Ham.
They were the Lord's people, so he let them grow stronger than their enemies. And he increased his people greatly; and made them stronger than their enemies.
They served the Lord, and he made the Egyptians plan hateful things against them. He turned their heart to hate his people, to deal subtilly with his servants.
God sent his servant Moses. He also chose and sent Aaron He sent Moses his servant; and Aaron whom he had chosen.
to his people in Egypt, and they worked miracles and wonders there. They shewed his signs among them, and wonders in the land of Ham.
Moses and Aaron obeyed God, and he sent darkness to cover Egypt. He sent darkness, and made it dark; and they rebelled not against his word.
God turned their rivers into streams of blood, and the fish all died. He turned their waters into blood, and slew their fish.
Frogs were everywhere, even in the royal palace. Their land brought forth frogs in abundance, in the chambers of their kings.
When God gave the command, flies and gnats swarmed all around. He spake, and there came divers sorts of flies, and lice in all their coasts.
In place of rain, God sent hailstones and flashes of lightning. He gave them hail for rain, and flaming fire in their land.
He destroyed their grapevines and their fig trees, and he made splinters of all the other trees. He smote their vines also and their fig trees; and brake the trees of their coasts.
God gave the command, and more grasshoppers came than could be counted. He spake, and the locusts came, and caterpillers, and that without number,
They ate every green plant and all the crops that grew in the land of Egypt. And did eat up all the herbs in their land, and devoured the fruit of their ground.
Then God took the life of every first-born son. He smote also all the firstborn in their land, the chief of all their strength.
When God led Israel from Egypt, they took silver and gold, and no one was left behind. He brought them forth also with silver and gold: and there was not one feeble person among their tribes.
The Egyptians were afraid and gladly let them go. Egypt was glad when they departed: for the fear of them fell upon them.
God hid them under a cloud and guided them by fire during the night. He spread a cloud for a covering; and fire to give light in the night.
When they asked for food, he sent more birds than they could eat. The people asked, and he brought quails, and satisfied them with the bread of heaven.
God even split open a rock, and streams of water gushed into the desert. He opened the rock, and the waters gushed out; they ran in the dry places like a river.
God never forgot his sacred promise to his servant Abraham. For he remembered his holy promise, and Abraham his servant.
When the Lord rescued his chosen people from Egypt, they celebrated with songs. And he brought forth his people with joy, and his chosen with gladness:
The Lord gave them the land and everything else the nations had worked for. And gave them the lands of the heathen: and they inherited the labour of the people;
He did this so that his people would obey all his laws. Shout praises to the Lord! That they might observe his statutes, and keep his laws. Praise ye the Lord.
