1
Jesus Heals a Man
As Jesus came down the mountain, he was followed by large crowds.
When he was come down from the mountain, great multitudes followed him.
2 Suddenly a man with leprosy came and knelt in front of Jesus. He said, “Lord, you have the power to make me well, if only you wanted to.” And, behold, there came a leper and worshipped him, saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean.
3 Jesus put his hand on the man and said, “I want to! Now you are well.” At once the man's leprosy disappeared. And Jesus put forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I will; be thou clean. And immediately his leprosy was cleansed.
4 Jesus told him, “Don't tell anyone about this, but go and show the priest that you are well. Then take a gift to the temple just as Moses commanded, and everyone will know that you have been healed.” (; ) And Jesus saith unto him, See thou tell no man; but go thy way, shew thyself to the priest, and offer the gift that Moses commanded, for a testimony unto them.

Jesus Heals an Army Officer's Servant
When Jesus was going into the town of Capernaum, an army officer came up to him and said,
And when Jesus was entered into Capernaum, there came unto him a centurion, beseeching him,
6 “Lord, my servant is at home in such terrible pain that he can't even move.” And saying, Lord, my servant lieth at home sick of the palsy, grievously tormented.
7 “I will go and heal him,” Jesus replied. And Jesus saith unto him, I will come and heal him.
8 But the officer said, “Lord, I'm not good enough for you to come into my house. Just give the order, and my servant will get well. The centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof: but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed.
9 I have officers who give orders to me, and I have soldiers who take orders from me. I can say to one of them, ‘Go!’ and he goes. I can say to another, ‘Come!’ and he comes. I can say to my servant, ‘Do this!’ and he will do it.” For I am a man under authority, having soldiers under me: and I say to this man, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it.
10 When Jesus heard this, he was so surprised that he turned and said to the crowd following him, “I tell you in all of Israel I've never found anyone with this much faith! When Jesus heard it, he marvelled, and said to them that followed, Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.
11 Many people will come from everywhere to enjoy the feast in the kingdom of heaven with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. And I say unto you, That many shall come from the east and west, and shall sit down with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, in the kingdom of heaven.
12 But the ones who should have been in the kingdom will be thrown out into the dark. They will cry and grit their teeth in pain.” But the children of the kingdom shall be cast out into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
13 Then Jesus said to the officer, “You may go home now. Your faith has made it happen.” Right then his servant was healed. (; ) And Jesus said unto the centurion, Go thy way; and as thou hast believed, so be it done unto thee. And his servant was healed in the selfsame hour.

Jesus Heals Many People
Jesus went to the home of Peter, where he found that Peter's mother-in-law was sick in bed with fever.
And when Jesus was come into Peter’s house, he saw his wife’s mother laid, and sick of a fever.
15 He took her by the hand, and the fever left her. Then she got up and served Jesus a meal. And he touched her hand, and the fever left her: and she arose, and ministered unto them.
16 That evening many people with demons in them were brought to Jesus. And with only a word he forced out the evil spirits and healed everyone who was sick. When the even was come, they brought unto him many that were possessed with devils: and he cast out the spirits with his word, and healed all that were sick:
17 So God's promise came true, just as the prophet Isaiah had said, “He healed our diseases and made us well.” () That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses.

Some Who Wanted To Go with Jesus
When Jesus saw the crowd, he went across Lake Galilee.
Now when Jesus saw great multitudes about him, he gave commandment to depart unto the other side.
19 A teacher of the Law of Moses came up to him and said, “Teacher, I'll go anywhere with you!” And a certain scribe came, and said unto him, Master, I will follow thee whithersoever thou goest.
20 Jesus replied, “Foxes have dens, and birds have nests. But the Son of Man doesn't have a place to call his own.” And Jesus saith unto him, The foxes have holes, and the birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head.
21 Another disciple said to Jesus, “Lord, let me wait till I bury my father.” And another of his disciples said unto him, Lord, suffer me first to go and bury my father.
22 Jesus answered, “Follow me, and let the dead bury their dead.” (; ) But Jesus said unto him, Follow me; and let the dead bury their dead.
23
A Storm
After Jesus left in a boat with his disciples,
And when he was entered into a ship, his disciples followed him.
24 a terrible storm suddenly struck the lake, and waves started splashing into their boat. Jesus was sound asleep, And, behold, there arose a great tempest in the sea, insomuch that the ship was covered with the waves: but he was asleep.
25 so the disciples went over to him and woke him up. They said, “Lord, wake up! Save us before we drown!” And his disciples came to him, and awoke him, saying, Lord, save us: we perish.
26 But Jesus replied, “Why are you so afraid? You surely don't have much faith.” Then he got up and ordered the wind and the waves to calm down. And everything was calm. And he saith unto them, Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith? Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm.
27 The men in the boat were amazed and said, “Who is this? Even the wind and the waves obey him.” (; ) But the men marvelled, saying, What manner of man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey him!

Two Men with Demons in Them
After Jesus had crossed the lake, he came to shore near the town of Gadara and started down the road. Two men with demons in them came to him from the tombs. They were so fierce that no one could travel that way.
And when he was come to the other side into the country of the Gergesenes, there met him two possessed with devils, coming out of the tombs, exceeding fierce, so that no man might pass by that way.
29 Suddenly they shouted, “Jesus, Son of God, what do you want with us? Have you come to punish us before our time?” And, behold, they cried out, saying, What have we to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God? art thou come hither to torment us before the time?
30 Not far from there a large herd of pigs was feeding. And there was a good way off from them an herd of many swine feeding.
31 So the demons begged Jesus, “If you force us out, please send us into those pigs!” So the devils besought him, saying, If thou cast us out, suffer us to go away into the herd of swine.
32 Jesus told them to go, and they went out of the men and into the pigs. All at once the pigs rushed down the steep bank into the lake and drowned. And he said unto them, Go. And when they were come out, they went into the herd of swine: and, behold, the whole herd of swine ran violently down a steep place into the sea, and perished in the waters.
33 The people taking care of the pigs ran to the town and told everything, especially what had happened to the two men. And they that kept them fled, and went their ways into the city, and told every thing, and what was befallen to the possessed of the devils.
34 Everyone in town came out to meet Jesus. When they saw him, they begged him to leave their part of the country. And, behold, the whole city came out to meet Jesus: and when they saw him, they besought him that he would depart out of their coasts.
