Vyneslo srdce mé slovo dobré, vypravovati budu písně své o králi, jazyk můj jako péro hbitého písaře. | My heart is inditing a good matter: I speak of the things which I have made touching the king: my tongue is the pen of a ready writer. |
| 2 | Krásnější jsi nad všecky syny lidské, rozlita jest i milost ve rtech tvých, proto že jest tobě požehnal Bůh až na věky. | Thou art fairer than the children of men: grace is poured into thy lips: therefore God hath blessed thee for ever. |
| 3 | Připaš meč svůj na bedra, ó reku udatný, prokaž důstojnost a slávu svou. | Gird thy sword upon thy thigh, O most mighty, with thy glory and thy majesty. |
| 4 | A v té slávě své šťastně vyjížděj s slovem pravdy, tichosti a spravedlnosti, a dokáže pravice tvá hrozných věcí. | And in thy majesty ride prosperously because of truth and meekness and righteousness; and thy right hand shall teach thee terrible things. |
| 5 | Střely tvé jsou ostré, padati budou od nich před tebou národové, proniknou až k srdci nepřátel královských. | Thine arrows are sharp in the heart of the king’s enemies; whereby the people fall under thee. |
| 6 | Trůn tvůj, ó Bože, jest věčný a stálý, berla království tvého jestiť berla nejupřímější. | Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: the sceptre of thy kingdom is a right sceptre. |
| 7 | Miluješ spravedlnost, a nenávidíš bezbožnosti, protož pomazal tě, Bože, Bůh tvůj olejem veselé nad účastníky tvé. | Thou lovest righteousness, and hatest wickedness: therefore God, thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows. |
| 8 | Mirra, aloe a kassia, všecka roucha tvá voní z paláců, z kostí slonových vzdělaných, nad ty, jenž tě obveselují. | All thy garments smell of myrrh, and aloes, and cassia, out of the ivory palaces, whereby they have made thee glad. |
| 9 | Dcery králů jsou mezi vzácnými tvými, přístojíť i manželka tobě po pravici v ryzím zlatě. | Kings’ daughters were among thy honourable women: upon thy right hand did stand the queen in gold of Ophir. |
| 10 | Slyšiž, dcerko, a viz, a nakloň ucha svého, a zapomeň na lid svůj a na dům otce svého. | Hearken, O daughter, and consider, and incline thine ear; forget also thine own people, and thy father’s house; |
| 11 | I zalíbí se králi tvá krása; onť jest zajisté Pán tvůj, protož skláněj se před ním. | So shall the king greatly desire thy beauty: for he is thy Lord; and worship thou him. |
| 12 | Tuť i Tyrští s dary, před oblíčejem tvým kořiti se budou bohatí národové. | And the daughter of Tyre shall be there with a gift; even the rich among the people shall intreat thy favour. |
| 13 | Všecka slavná jest dcera královská u vnitřku, roucho zlatem vytkávané jest oděv její. | The king’s daughter is all glorious within: her clothing is of wrought gold. |
| 14 | V rouše krumpovaném přivedena bude králi, i panny za ní, družičky její, přivedeny budou k tobě. | She shall be brought unto the king in raiment of needlework: the virgins her companions that follow her shall be brought unto thee. |
| 15 | Přivedeny budou s radostí velikou a plésáním, a vejdou na palác královský. | With gladness and rejoicing shall they be brought: they shall enter into the king’s palace. |
| 16 | Místo otců svých budeš míti syny své, kteréž postavíš za knížata po vší zemi. | Instead of thy fathers shall be thy children, whom thou mayest make princes in all the earth. |
| 17 | V pamět uvoditi budu jméno tvé po všecky věky, pročež oslavovati tě budou národové na věky věků. | I will make thy name to be remembered in all generations: therefore shall the people praise thee for ever and ever. |
