1	Hiskija und die babylonische Gesandtschaft Zu dieser Zeit war Marduk-Baladan, der Sohn des Baladan, König von Babylonien. Der schickte Boten zu Hiskija, um ihm einen Brief und Geschenke zu überbringen. Denn er hatte gehört, dass Hiskija krank gewesen und wieder gesund geworden war.	At that time Merodach–baladan, the son of Baladan, king of Babylon, sent letters and a present to Hezekiah: for he had heard that he had been sick, and was recovered.
2	Hiskija freute sich sehr darüber. Er zeigte den Boten sein ganzes Schatzhaus: das Silber und Gold, die Duftstoffe und kostbaren Öle. Sie sahen auch sein ganzes Waffenlager und alles, was sich in seinen Vorratskammern befand. Es gab nichts in seinem Palast und seinem Reich, was Hiskija ihnen nicht zeigte.	And Hezekiah was glad of them, and shewed them the house of his precious things, the silver, and the gold, and the spices, and the precious ointment, and all the house of his armour, and all that was found in his treasures: there was nothing in his house, nor in all his dominion, that Hezekiah shewed them not.
3	Da kam der Prophet Jesaja zu König Hiskija und fragte ihn: »Was wollten diese Männer denn von dir? Und woher sind sie gekommen?« Hiskija antwortete: »Sie sind aus einem fernen Land zu mir gekommen, aus Babylonien.«	Then came Isaiah the prophet unto king Hezekiah, and said unto him, What said these men? and from whence came they unto thee? And Hezekiah said, They are come from a far country unto me, even from Babylon.
4	Jesaja fragte: »Und was haben sie in deinem Palast gesehen?« Hiskija antwortete: »Sie haben alles gesehen, was ich besitze. Es gibt nichts in meinen Vorratskammern, was ich ihnen nicht gezeigt habe.«	Then said he, What have they seen in thine house? And Hezekiah answered, All that is in mine house have they seen: there is nothing among my treasures that I have not shewed them.
5	Da sagte Jesaja zu Hiskija: »Höre, was der Herr Zebaot dazu sagt:	Then said Isaiah to Hezekiah, Hear the word of the Lord of hosts:
6	Es kommt eine Zeit, da wird alles, was in deinem Palast ist, nach Babylonien gebracht werden. Es wird nichts von dem übrig bleiben, was deine Vorfahren angesammelt haben. Das sagt der Herr.	Behold, the days come, that all that is in thine house, and that which thy fathers have laid up in store until this day, shall be carried to Babylon: nothing shall be left, saith the Lord.
7	Auch deine Nachkommen wird es treffen: Einige deiner Nachfolger wird man fortbringen. Sie werden Hofbeamte sein am Palast des Königs von Babylonien.«	And of thy sons that shall issue from thee, which thou shalt beget, shall they take away; and they shall be eunuchs in the palace of the king of Babylon.
8	Da sagte Hiskija zu Jesaja: »Das ist eine gute Botschaft des Herrn, die du mir übermittelt hast.« Denn er dachte sich: »Solange ich lebe, werden Frieden und Sicherheit sein.«	Then said Hezekiah to Isaiah, Good is the word of the Lord which thou hast spoken. He said moreover, For there shall be peace and truth in my days.
