1	Salomos Tempelbau 480 Jahre waren vergangen seit dem Auszug der Israeliten aus Ägypten. Salomo regierte bereits vier Jahre als König über Israel. Im Monat Siw baute er den Tempel für den Herrn – das ist der zweite Monat.	And it came to pass in the four hundred and eightieth year after the children of Israel were come out of the land of Egypt, in the fourth year of Solomon’s reign over Israel, in the month Zif, which is the second month, that he began to build the house of the Lord.
2	So sah der Tempel aus, den König Salomo für den Herrn baute: Er war 30 Meter lang, 10 Meter breit und 15 Meter hoch.	And the house which king Solomon built for the Lord, the length thereof was threescore cubits, and the breadth thereof twenty cubits, and the height thereof thirty cubits.
3	An der Vorderseite des Tempels gab es eine Vorhalle. Sie war genauso breit wie der Tempel und fünf Meter lang.	And the porch before the temple of the house, twenty cubits was the length thereof, according to the breadth of the house; and ten cubits was the breadth thereof before the house.
4	Salomo versah den Tempel mit Fensteröffnungen, die Rahmen und Gitter aus Stein hatten.	And for the house he made windows of narrow lights.
5	Um den Hauptraum und das Allerheiligste herum brachte er Absätze entlang der Mauern an. So konnte er rundherum Seitenräume errichten.	And against the wall of the house he built chambers round about, against the walls of the house round about, both of the temple and of the oracle: and he made chambers round about:
6	Die Balken für die Decken dieser Räume lagen auf den Absätzen der Außenmauer auf. Sie wurden also nicht ins Mauerwerk eingelassen. Deshalb war das untere Stockwerk des Seitenraums nur zweieinhalb Meter breit, das mittlere drei Meter und das obere dreieinhalb Meter.	The nethermost chamber was five cubits broad, and the middle was six cubits broad, and the third was seven cubits broad: for without in the wall of the house he made narrowed rests round about, that the beams should not be fastened in the walls of the house.
7	Beim Bau des Hauses wurden die Steine so verwendet, wie sie aus dem Steinbruch kamen. Deshalb war auch kein Baulärm zu hören, weder von Hämmern noch Meißeln noch von anderem Eisenwerkzeug.	And the house, when it was in building, was built of stone made ready before it was brought thither: so that there was neither hammer nor axe nor any tool of iron heard in the house, while it was in building.
8	Die Tür zum unteren Stockwerk des Seitenraums war an der rechten Wand des Tempels. Von dort führten Treppen zum mittleren Stockwerk und vom mittleren dann zum dritten Stockwerk.	The door for the middle chamber was in the right side of the house: and they went up with winding stairs into the middle chamber, and out of the middle into the third.
9	Dann vollendete Salomo den Bau des Tempels: Er ließ das Dach decken mit Balken und Brettern aus Zedernholz.	So he built the house, and finished it; and covered the house with beams and boards of cedar.
10	Zum Abstützen verwendete er ebenfalls Balken aus Zedernholz. Sie lagen im Innern auf Holz auf, auf einer Höhe von zweieinhalb Metern.	And then he built chambers against all the house, five cubits high: and they rested on the house with timber of cedar.
11	Da kam das Wort des Herrn zu Salomo:	And the word of the Lord came to Solomon, saying,
12	»Richte dich nach meinen Gesetzen, handle nach meinen Rechtsordnungen und befolge alle meine Gebote! Richte dein ganzes Leben danach aus! Dann werde ich das Versprechen erfüllen, das ich deinem Vater David gegeben habe:	Concerning this house which thou art in building, if thou wilt walk in my statutes, and execute my judgments, and keep all my commandments to walk in them; then will I perform my word with thee, which I spake unto David thy father:
13	Dann werde ich mitten unter den Israeliten wohnen, in dem Tempel, den du baust. Und ich werde mein Volk Israel nicht verlassen!«	And I will dwell among the children of Israel, and will not forsake my people Israel.
14	Die Innenausstattung des Tempels Anschließend vollendete Salomo den Bau des Tempels im Inneren:	So Solomon built the house, and finished it.
15	Er verkleidete die Wände des Tempels mit Brettern aus Zedernholz. Vom Fußboden bis zu den Deckenbalken war innen alles mit Holz verziert. Den Fußboden bedeckte er mit Zypressenholz.	And he built the walls of the house within with boards of cedar, both the floor of the house, and the walls of the cieling: and he covered them on the inside with wood, and covered the floor of the house with planks of fir.
16	Von der Rückwand des Tempels aus maß er 10 Meter ab. Dort zog er eine Wand aus Zedernholz ein. Sie reichte vom Fußboden bis zu den Deckenbalken. So baute er im Tempel einen Raum, das Allerheiligste.	And he built twenty cubits on the sides of the house, both the floor and the walls with boards of cedar: he even built them for it within, even for the oracle, even for the most holy place.
17	Der Hauptraum des Tempels vor dem Allerheiligsten war somit etwa 20 Meter lang.	And the house, that is, the temple before it, was forty cubits long.
18	Das Innere des Hauptraums war ganz mit Zedernholz ausgekleidet, verziert mit Schnitzereien von Früchten und Blüten. Nirgends war noch Stein zu sehen.	And the cedar of the house within was carved with knops and open flowers: all was cedar; there was no stone seen.
19	Das Allerheiligste war der Mittelpunkt des Tempels. Dort hinein stellte Salomo die Bundeslade des Herrn.	And the oracle he prepared in the house within, to set there the ark of the covenant of the Lord.
20	Das Allerheiligste war etwa 10 Meter lang, 10 Meter breit und 10 Meter hoch. Salomo ließ es mit Blattgold überziehen. Außerdem machte er einen Altar aus Zedernholz.	And the oracle in the forepart was twenty cubits in length, and twenty cubits in breadth, and twenty cubits in the height thereof: and he overlaid it with pure gold; and so covered the altar which was of cedar.
21	Auch den übrigen Tempel ließ Salomo innen mit Blattgold überziehen. Beim Allerheiligsten brachte er goldene Ketten an und überzog es ganz mit Gold.	So Solomon overlaid the house within with pure gold: and he made a partition by the chains of gold before the oracle; and he overlaid it with gold.
22	Den gesamten Tempel überzog er mit Gold, bis in den letzten Winkel. Auch den ganzen Altar, der zum Allerheiligsten gehört, überzog er mit Gold.	And the whole house he overlaid with gold, until he had finished all the house: also the whole altar that was by the oracle he overlaid with gold.
23	Im Allerheiligsten stellte Salomo zwei Kerubim auf. Sie waren aus besonderem Holz und fünf Meter hoch.	And within the oracle he made two cherubims of olive tree, each ten cubits high.
24	Jeder Kerub hatte zwei Flügel und jeder Flügel war zweieinhalb Meter lang. Insgesamt waren es fünf Meter von einer Flügelspitze bis zur anderen.	And five cubits was the one wing of the cherub, and five cubits the other wing of the cherub: from the uttermost part of the one wing unto the uttermost part of the other were ten cubits.
25	Auch der zweite Kerub war fünf Meter hoch. Beide waren gleich groß und sahen gleich aus.	And the other cherub was ten cubits: both the cherubims were of one measure and one size.
26	Der erste Kerub war fünf Meter hoch. Genauso hoch war auch der zweite.	The height of the one cherub was ten cubits, and so was it of the other cherub.
27	Salomo stellte die Kerubim mitten ins Innere des Hauses. Ihre Flügel waren ausgebreitet: Der Flügel des einen berührte die eine Wand, der Flügel des zweiten berührte die andere Wand. In der Mitte berührten sie sich gegenseitig. So standen sie da, Flügel an Flügel.	And he set the cherubims within the inner house: and they stretched forth the wings of the cherubims, so that the wing of the one touched the one wall, and the wing of the other cherub touched the other wall; and their wings touched one another in the midst of the house.
28	Auch die Kerubim ließ Salomo mit Gold überziehen.	And he overlaid the cherubims with gold.
29	Alle Wände des Tempels waren mit Schnitzereien verziert. Im Hauptraum und im Allerheiligsten gab es überall Kerubim, Palmzweige und Lotusblüten.	And he carved all the walls of the house round about with carved figures of cherubims and palm trees and open flowers, within and without.
30	Innen wie außen ließ Salomo den Fußboden mit Gold überziehen.	And the floor of the house he overlaid with gold, within and without.
31	Als Eingang zum Allerheiligsten ließ er Türen aus besonderem Holz anfertigen. Sie hatten Pfeiler und Türpfosten, und ihre Rahmen waren nach innen fünffach abgestuft.	And for the entering of the oracle he made doors of olive tree: the lintel and side posts were a fifth part of the wall.
32	Ihre beiden Türflügel waren aus besonderem Holz. Auch sie verzierte Salomo mit Schnitzereien von Kerubim, Palmzweigen und Lotusblüten. Dann ließ er die Türen mit Gold überziehen. Und auch auf die Kerubim und Palmzweige brachte er Gold auf.	The two doors also were of olive tree; and he carved upon them carvings of cherubims and palm trees and open flowers, and overlaid them with gold, and spread gold upon the cherubims, and upon the palm trees.
33	Ebenso machte er die Eingangstüren für den Hauptraum: Sie hatten Pfosten aus besonderem Holz, und ihr Rahmen war nach innen vierfach abgestuft.	So also made he for the door of the temple posts of olive tree, a fourth part of the wall.
34	Die beiden Türflügel waren aus Zypressenholz. Jede Tür hatte zwei Türflügel, die je für sich drehbar waren.	And the two doors were of fir tree: the two leaves of the one door were folding, and the two leaves of the other door were folding.
35	Salomo verzierte sie mit Schnitzereien, mit Kerubim, Palmzweigen und Lotusblüten. Dann überzog er auch sie mit Gold, das genau an die Schnitzereien angepasst wurde.	And he carved thereon cherubims and palm trees and open flowers: and covered them with gold fitted upon the carved work.
36	Vor den Tempel baute Salomo eine Mauer. Sie bestand aus drei Lagen Quadersteinen und Balken aus Zedernholz.	And he built the inner court with three rows of hewed stone, and a row of cedar beams.
37	Im vierten Regierungsjahr Salomos, im Monat Siw, wurde das Fundament für das Haus des Herrn gelegt.	In the fourth year was the foundation of the house of the Lord laid, in the month Zif:
38	Im elften Regierungsjahr vollendete er dieses Haus, im Monat Bul, das ist der achte Monat. Alles war so ausgeführt worden wie geplant. Salomo baute insgesamt sieben Jahre am Tempel.	And in the eleventh year, in the month Bul, which is the eighth month, was the house finished throughout all the parts thereof, and according to all the fashion of it. So was he seven years in building it.
