1	Die Einwohner von Jerusalem / Die Familien Alle Israeliten hatten sich eintragen lassen und sind nun im Buch der Könige von Israel aufgeschrieben. Der Stamm Juda wurde wegen seiner Untreue in die Verbannung nach Babylonien geführt.	So all Israel were reckoned by genealogies; and, behold, they were written in the book of the kings of Israel and Judah, who were carried away to Babylon for their transgression.
2	Als erste kehrten Priester, Leviten und Tempeldiener wieder in ihre Städte zurück. Sie waren die ersten Israeliten, die sich wieder auf ihrem eigenen Land niederließen.	Now the first inhabitants that dwelt in their possessions in their cities were, the Israelites, the priests, Levites, and the Nethinims.
3	In Jerusalem wohnten Nachkommen des Stammes Juda, des Stammes Benjamin, des Stammes Efraim und des Stammes Manasse.	And in Jerusalem dwelt of the children of Judah, and of the children of Benjamin, and of the children of Ephraim, and Manasseh;
4	Utai zählte zu den Nachkommen des Perez, einem der Söhne von Juda. Er war Sohn des Ammihud, Enkel von Omri und Urenkel von Imri. Imri war der Sohn des Bani.	Uthai the son of Ammihud, the son of Omri, the son of Imri, the son of Bani, of the children of Pharez the son of Judah.
5	Von den Schilonitern wohnte dort Asaja, ein erstgeborener Sohn.	And of the Shilonites; Asaiah the firstborn, and his sons.
6	Von den Nachkommen des Serach war es Jeuel. Zusammen mit den Verwandten waren es 690 Menschen.	And of the sons of Zerah; Jeuel, and their brethren, six hundred and ninety.
7	Von den Nachkommen des Benjamin waren es: Sallu, der Sohn des Meschullam, Enkel von Hodawja und Urenkel von Senua;	And of the sons of Benjamin; Sallu the son of Meshullam, the son of Hodaviah, the son of Hasenuah,
8	Jibneja, der Sohn des Jeroham; Ela, der Sohn des Usi und Enkel von Michri; sowie Meschullam, der Sohn des Schefatja, Enkel von Reguel und Urenkel von Jibnija.	And Ibneiah the son of Jeroham, and Elah the son of Uzzi, the son of Michri, and Meshullam the son of Shephathiah, the son of Reuel, the son of Ibnijah;
9	Nach der Liste ihrer Nachkommen waren es 956 Verwandte. Sie alle waren mächtige Männer, Oberhäupter in ihren Familien.	And their brethren, according to their generations, nine hundred and fifty and six. All these men were chief of the fathers in the house of their fathers.
10	Die Priester Von den Priestern lebten in Jerusalem: Jedaja, Jojarib und Jachin.	And of the priests; Jedaiah, and Jehoiarib, and Jachin,
11	Außerdem lebte dort Asarja, der Sohn des Hilkija, Enkel von Meschullam und Urenkel von Zadok. Er war ein Nachfahre von Merajot und Ahitub. Ahitub war der oberste Priester am Haus Gottes.	And Azariah the son of Hilkiah, the son of Meshullam, the son of Zadok, the son of Meraioth, the son of Ahitub, the ruler of the house of God;
12	Dazu kam Adaja, der Sohn des Jeroham, Enkel von Paschhur und Urenkel von Malkija. Masai war der Sohn des Adiel, Enkel von Jachsera und Urenkel von Meschullam. Masais Linie lässt sich zurückverfolgen bis zu Meschillemot und Immer.	And Adaiah the son of Jeroham, the son of Pashur, the son of Malchijah, and Maasiai the son of Adiel, the son of Jahzerah, the son of Meshullam, the son of Meshillemith, the son of Immer;
13	Ihre Verwandten waren die Oberhäupter ihrer Familien. Zusammen leisteten 1760 tüchtige Männer ihre Arbeit im Dienst am Haus Gottes.	And their brethren, heads of the house of their fathers, a thousand and seven hundred and threescore; very able men for the work of the service of the house of God.
14	Die Leviten Das waren die Leviten in Jerusalem: Von den Nachkommen des Merari waren es: Schemaja, der Sohn des Haschub, Enkel von Asrikam und Urenkel von Haschabja;	And of the Levites; Shemaiah the son of Hasshub, the son of Azrikam, the son of Hashabiah, of the sons of Merari;
15	weiter Bakbakkar, Heresch und Galal; Mattanja, der Sohn des Micha, Enkel von Sichri und Urenkel von Asaf;	And Bakbakkar, Heresh, and Galal, and Mattaniah the son of Micah, the son of Zichri, the son of Asaph;
16	Obadja, der Sohn des Schemaja, Enkel von Galal und Urenkel von Jedutun; und Berechja, der Sohn des Asa und Enkel von Elkana. Elkana wohnte in den Siedlungen der Netofatiter.	And Obadiah the son of Shemaiah, the son of Galal, the son of Jeduthun, and Berechiah the son of Asa, the son of Elkanah, that dwelt in the villages of the Netophathites.
17	Die Torwächter Die Torwächter waren: Schallum, Akkub, Talmon und Ahiman. Ihr Bruder Schallum war das Oberhaupt.	And the porters were, Shallum, and Akkub, and Talmon, and Ahiman, and their brethren: Shallum was the chief;
18	Bis zum heutigen Tag sitzen sie am Königstor im Osten. Sie waren die Torwächter im Lager der Leviten.	Who hitherto waited in the king’s gate eastward: they were porters in the companies of the children of Levi.
19	Schallum war der Sohn des Kore und Enkel von Abiasaf. Abiasaf war einer der Söhne von Korach. Schallum und seine Brüder aus der Großfamilie der Korachiter arbeiteten am Zelt der Begegnung. Sie hatten den Wachdienst an seinem Eingang zu leisten. Schon ihre Vorfahren waren Wächter, am Eingang zum Lager des Herrn.	And Shallum the son of Kore, the son of Ebiasaph, the son of Korah, and his brethren, of the house of his father, the Korahites, were over the work of the service, keepers of the gates of the tabernacle: and their fathers, being over the host of the Lord, were keepers of the entry.
20	Pinhas, der Sohn des Eleasar, war früher ihr Vorsteher gewesen. Der Herr war mit ihm.	And Phinehas the son of Eleazar was the ruler over them in time past, and the Lord was with him.
21	Secharja, der Sohn des Meschelemja, war nun Torwächter am Eingang zum Zelt der Begegnung.	And Zechariah the son of Meshelemiah was porter of the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.
22	Es waren insgesamt 212 Mann, die als Wächter für die Zugänge ausgewählt wurden. Sie wurden in ihren Heimatorten in Listen eingetragen. David und der Seher Samuel hatten sie eingestellt, weil sie zuverlässig waren.	All these which were chosen to be porters in the gates were two hundred and twelve. These were reckoned by their genealogy in their villages, whom David and Samuel the seer did ordain in their set office.
23	Die Torwächter und ihre Nachkommen dienten am Haus des Herrn – wie früher am Zelt der Begegnung.	So they and their children had the oversight of the gates of the house of the Lord, namely, the house of the tabernacle, by wards.
24	Die Torwächter standen an allen vier Seiten: im Osten, Westen, Norden und Süden.	In four quarters were the porters, toward the east, west, north, and south.
25	Ihre Brüder mussten aus ihren Siedlungen von Zeit zu Zeit für sieben Tage zu ihnen kommen.	And their brethren, which were in their villages, were to come after seven days from time to time with them.
26	Die vier obersten Torwächter waren ständig im Dienst. Als Leviten hatten sie die Aufsicht über Lagerräume und Schatzkammern im Haus Gottes.	For these Levites, the four chief porters, were in their set office, and were over the chambers and treasuries of the house of God.
27	Sie übernachteten in der Umgebung des Tempels, denn ihnen war der Wachdienst aufgetragen. Morgen für Morgen hatten sie die Tore zu öffnen.	And they lodged round about the house of God, because the charge was upon them, and the opening thereof every morning pertained to them.
28	Einige der Wächter hatten die Aufsicht über die Geräte für den Gottesdienst. Abgezählt brachten sie diese hinein und abgezählt trugen sie sie wieder heraus.	And certain of them had the charge of the ministering vessels, that they should bring them in and out by tale.
29	Andere waren zuständig für weitere Geräte, und zwar für alle anderen Geräte des Heiligtums, und auch für das Mehl, den Wein, das Öl, den Weihrauch und den Balsam.	Some of them also were appointed to oversee the vessels, and all the instruments of the sanctuary, and the fine flour, and the wine, and the oil, and the frankincense, and the spices.
30	Einige der Priester mischten Salben aus dem Balsam.	And some of the sons of the priests made the ointment of the spices.
31	Mattitja war ein Levit und der erstgeborene Sohn von Schallum, dem Korachiter. Ihm war die Zubereitung von Gebäck anvertraut.	And Mattithiah, one of the Levites, who was the firstborn of Shallum the Korahite, had the set office over the things that were made in the pans.
32	Die Kehatiter waren Verwandte der Korachiter. Einige von ihnen waren dafür zuständig, an jedem Sabbat die Schaubrote vorzubereiten.	And other of their brethren, of the sons of the Kohathites, were over the shewbread, to prepare it every sabbath.
33	Die Familienoberhäupter der Leviten aber waren die Sänger. Sie waren von allen anderen Aufgaben befreit, die es in den Räumen des Tempels gab. Denn sie mussten Tag und Nacht Dienst tun.	And these are the singers, chief of the fathers of the Levites, who remaining in the chambers were free: for they were employed in that work day and night.
34	Das waren die Familienoberhäupter der Leviten nach ihrem Stammbaum. Sie galten auch als Oberhäupter und wohnten in Jerusalem.	These chief fathers of the Levites were chief throughout their generations; these dwelt at Jerusalem.
35	Sauls Familie in Gibeon und Jerusalem In Gibeon wohnte Jeiel, der Stammvater von Gibeon. Jeiels Frau hieß Maacha.	And in Gibeon dwelt the father of Gibeon, Jehiel, whose wife’s name was Maachah:
36	Sein erstgeborener Sohn war Abdon. Die anderen hießen Zur, Kisch, Baal, Ner, Nadab,	And his firstborn son Abdon, then Zur, and Kish, and Baal, and Ner, and Nadab,
37	Gedor, Achjo, Secher und Miklot.	And Gedor, and Ahio, and Zechariah, and Mikloth.
38	Miklot war der Vater des Schima. Einige von ihnen wohnten aber in Jerusalem, zusammen mit ihren Verwandten.	And Mikloth begat Shimeam. And they also dwelt with their brethren at Jerusalem, over against their brethren.
39	Ner war der Vater des Kisch und Großvater von Saul. Saul war der Vater von Jonatan, Malkischua, Abinadab und Eschbaal.	And Ner begat Kish; and Kish begat Saul; and Saul begat Jonathan, and Malchi–shua, and Abinadab, and Esh–baal.
40	Der Sohn des Jonatan war Merib-Baal. Merib-Baal war der Vater von Micha.	And the son of Jonathan was Merib–baal: and Merib–baal begat Micah.
41	Die Söhne des Micha waren: Piton, Melech und Tachrea.	And the sons of Micah were, Pithon, and Melech, and Tahrea, and Ahaz.
42	Ahas war der Vater von Joadda. Joadda war der Vater von Alemet, Asmawet und Simri. Simri war Vater von Moza,	And Ahaz begat Jarah; and Jarah begat Alemeth, and Azmaveth, and Zimri; and Zimri begat Moza;
43	Großvater von Bina und Urgroßvater von Refaja. Refaja war Vater von Elasa und Großvater von Azel.	And Moza begat Binea; and Rephaiah his son, Eleasah his son, Azel his son.
44	Azel hatte sechs Söhne. Sie hießen Asrikam, Bochru, Jischmael, Schearja, Obadja und Hanan. Das sind die Nachkommen von Azel.	And Azel had six sons, whose names are these, Azrikam, Bocheru, and Ishmael, and Sheariah, and Obadiah, and Hanan: these were the sons of Azel.
