1	Die Städte der Leviten Die Familienoberhäupter der Leviten traten an den Priester Eleasar heran, an Josua, den Sohn des Nun, und an die Familienoberhäupter der Stämme Israels.	Then came near the heads of the fathers of the Levites unto Eleazar the priest, and unto Joshua the son of Nun, and unto the heads of the fathers of the tribes of the children of Israel;
2	In Schilo im Land Kanaan sagten sie zu ihnen: »Der Herr hat durch Mose angeordnet, uns Städte zum Wohnen zu geben. Auch sollen wir Weideland für unser Vieh bekommen.«	And they spake unto them at Shiloh in the land of Canaan, saying, The Lord commanded by the hand of Moses to give us cities to dwell in, with the suburbs thereof for our cattle.
3	Die Israeliten gaben daraufhin den Leviten etwas von ihrem Erbbesitz ab. Auf Befehl des Herrn erhielten sie Städte und Viehweiden.	And the children of Israel gave unto the Levites out of their inheritance, at the commandment of the Lord, these cities and their suburbs.
4	Zuerst erhielten die Großfamilien des Kehat ihren Anteil unter den Leviten. Darunter waren die Nachkommen des Priesters Aaron. Von den Stämmen Juda, Simeon und Benjamin bekamen sie 13 Städte durch das Los.	And the lot came out for the families of the Kohathites: and the children of Aaron the priest, which were of the Levites, had by lot out of the tribe of Judah, and out of the tribe of Simeon, and out of the tribe of Benjamin, thirteen cities.
5	Dann waren die übrigen Nachkommen des Kehat mit ihren Großfamilien an der Reihe. Von den Stämmen Efraim, Dan und Halb-Manasse bekamen sie zehn Städte durch das Los.	And the rest of the children of Kohath had by lot out of the families of the tribe of Ephraim, and out of the tribe of Dan, and out of the half tribe of Manasseh, ten cities.
6	Dann waren die Nachkommen des Gerschon mit ihren Großfamilien an der Reihe. Von den Stämmen Issachar, Ascher, Naftali und Halb-Manasse auf der Hochebene Baschan bekamen sie 13 Städte durch das Los.	And the children of Gershon had by lot out of the families of the tribe of Issachar, and out of the tribe of Asher, and out of the tribe of Naphtali, and out of the half tribe of Manasseh in Bashan, thirteen cities.
7	Dann waren die Nachkommen des Merari mit ihren Großfamilien an der Reihe. Von den Stämmen Ruben, Gad und Sebulon bekamen sie zwölf Städte durch das Los.	The children of Merari by their families had out of the tribe of Reuben, and out of the tribe of Gad, and out of the tribe of Zebulun, twelve cities.
8	So bestimmten die Israeliten durch das Los, welche Städte und Viehweiden die Leviten bekamen. Der Herr hatte es durch Mose so angeordnet.	And the children of Israel gave by lot unto the Levites these cities with their suburbs, as the Lord commanded by the hand of Moses.
9	Folgende Städte, die mit Namen genannt wurden, lagen auf dem Gebiet der Stämme Juda und Simeon.	And they gave out of the tribe of the children of Judah, and out of the tribe of the children of Simeon, these cities which are here mentioned by name,
10	Diese gab man den Nachkommen des Aaron, den Leviten aus den Großfamilien des Kehat. Sie bekamen als Erste ihren Anteil durch das Los:	Which the children of Aaron, being of the families of the Kohathites, who were of the children of Levi, had: for theirs was the first lot.
11	Man gab ihnen Kirjat-Arba, die Stadt des Arba, von dem die Anakiter abstammen. Das war die Stadt Hebron auf dem Gebirge Juda, die sie mit dem umliegenden Weideland bekamen.	And they gave them the city of Arba the father of Anak, which city is Hebron, in the hill country of Judah, with the suburbs thereof round about it.
12	Doch das Grundstück der Stadt und ihre Dörfer hatte man Kaleb gegeben, dem Sohn des Jefunne.	But the fields of the city, and the villages thereof, gave they to Caleb the son of Jephunneh for his possession.
13	Die 48 Städte der Priester und Leviten Den Nachkommen des Priesters Aaron gab man als Asylstädte: Hebron mit Weideland, Libna mit Weideland,	Thus they gave to the children of Aaron the priest Hebron with her suburbs, to be a city of refuge for the slayer; and Libnah with her suburbs,
14	Jattir mit Weideland, Eschtemoa mit Weideland,	And Jattir with her suburbs, and Eshtemoa with her suburbs,
15	Holon mit Weideland, Debir mit Weideland,	And Holon with her suburbs, and Debir with her suburbs,
16	Ajin mit Weideland, Jutta mit Weideland, Bet-Schemesch mit Weideland – insgesamt neun Städte von den Stämmen Juda und Simeon.	And Ain with her suburbs, and Juttah with her suburbs, and Beth–shemesh with her suburbs; nine cities out of those two tribes.
17	Und im Gebiet von Benjamin gab man ihnen: Gibeon mit Weideland, Geba mit Weideland,	And out of the tribe of Benjamin, Gibeon with her suburbs, Geba with her suburbs,
18	Anatot mit Weideland, Alemet mit Weideland – insgesamt vier Städte.	Anathoth with her suburbs, and Almon with her suburbs; four cities.
19	Damit hatten die Priester, die Nachkommen Aarons, 13 Städte mit ihren Viehweiden erhalten.	All the cities of the children of Aaron, the priests, were thirteen cities with their suburbs.
20	Dann waren die übrigen Leviten an der Reihe, die zu den Großfamilien der Kehatiter gehörten. Sie bekamen Städte vom Stamm Efraim durch das Los.	And the families of the children of Kohath, the Levites which remained of the children of Kohath, even they had the cities of their lot out of the tribe of Ephraim.
21	Man gab ihnen als Asylstädte für Totschläger auf dem Gebirge Efraim: Sichem mit Weideland, Geser mit Weideland,	For they gave them Shechem with her suburbs in mount Ephraim, to be a city of refuge for the slayer; and Gezer with her suburbs,
22	Kibzajim mit Weideland, Bet-Horon mit Weideland – insgesamt vier Städte.	And Kibzaim with her suburbs, and Beth–horon with her suburbs; four cities.
23	Im Gebiet von Dan gab man ihnen: Elteke mit Weideland, Gibbeton mit Weideland,	And out of the tribe of Dan, Eltekeh with her suburbs, Gibbethon with her suburbs,
24	Ajalon mit Weideland, Gat-Rimmon mit Weideland – insgesamt vier Städte.	Aijalon with her suburbs, Gath–rimmon with her suburbs; four cities.
25	Und im Gebiet von Halb-Manasse gab man ihnen: Taanach mit Weideland, Jibleam mit Weideland – insgesamt zwei Städte.	And out of the half tribe of Manasseh, Tanach with her suburbs, and Gath–rimmon with her suburbs; two cities.
26	Damit hatten die übrigen Großfamilien der Kehatiter zehn Städte mit ihren Viehweiden erhalten.	All the cities were ten with their suburbs for the families of the children of Kohath that remained.
27	Dann waren die Nachkommen des Gerschon an der Reihe, die zu den Großfamilien der Leviten gehörten. Man gab ihnen als Asylstädte für Totschläger im Gebiet von Halb-Manasse auf der Hochebene Baschan: Golan mit Weideland, Aschtarot mit Weideland – insgesamt zwei Städte.	And unto the children of Gershon, of the families of the Levites, out of the other half tribe of Manasseh they gave Golan in Bashan with her suburbs, to be a city of refuge for the slayer; and Beesh–terah with her suburbs; two cities.
28	Im Gebiet von Issachar gab man ihnen: Kischjon mit Weideland, Daberat mit Weideland	And out of the tribe of Issachar, Kishon with her suburbs, Dabareh with her suburbs,
29	Jarmut mit Weideland, En-Gannim mit Weideland – insgesamt vier Städte.	Jarmuth with her suburbs, En–gannim with her suburbs; four cities.
30	Im Gebiet von Ascher gab man ihnen: Mischal mit Weideland, Abdon mit Weideland,	And out of the tribe of Asher, Mishal with her suburbs, Abdon with her suburbs,
31	Helkat mit Weideland, Rehob mit Weideland – insgesamt vier Städte.	Helkath with her suburbs, and Rehob with her suburbs; four cities.
32	Und man gab ihnen als Asylstädte für Totschläger im Gebiet von Naftali, in Galiläa: Kedesch mit Weideland, Hammat mit Weideland, Kartan mit Weideland – insgesamt drei Städte.	And out of the tribe of Naphtali, Kedesh in Galilee with her suburbs, to be a city of refuge for the slayer; and Hammoth–dor with her suburbs, and Kartan with her suburbs; three cities.
33	Damit hatten die Großfamilien der Gerschoniter 13 Städte mit ihren Viehweiden erhalten.	All the cities of the Gershonites according to their families were thirteen cities with their suburbs.
34	Dann waren die restlichen Leviten an der Reihe, die zu den Großfamilien der Merariter gehörten. Im Gebiet von Sebulon gab man ihnen: Jokneam mit Weideland, Karta mit Weideland,	And unto the families of the children of Merari, the rest of the Levites, out of the tribe of Zebulun, Jokneam with her suburbs, and Kartah with her suburbs,
35	Rimmon mit Weideland, Nahalal mit Weideland – insgesamt vier Städte.	Dimnah with her suburbs, Nahalal with her suburbs; four cities.
36	Im Gebiet von Ruben gab man ihnen als Asylstädte für Totschläger, die auf der anderen Seite des Jordan lagen, östlich von Jericho: Bezer mit Weideland, Jahaz mit Weideland,	And out of the tribe of Reuben, Bezer with her suburbs, and Jahazah with her suburbs,
37	Kedemot mit Weideland, Mefaat mit Weideland – insgesamt vier Städte.	Kedemoth with her suburbs, and Mephaath with her suburbs; four cities.
38	Im Gebiet von Gad gab man ihnen als Asylstädte für Totschläger: Ramot in Gilead mit Weideland, Mahanajim mit Weideland,	And out of the tribe of Gad, Ramoth in Gilead with her suburbs, to be a city of refuge for the slayer; and Mahanaim with her suburbs,
39	Heschbon mit Weideland, Jaser mit Weideland – insgesamt vier Städte.	Heshbon with her suburbs, Jazer with her suburbs; four cities in all.
40	Damit hatten die restlichen Leviten, die zu den Großfamilien der Merariter gehörten, zwölf Städte durch das Los erhalten.	So all the cities for the children of Merari by their families, which were remaining of the families of the Levites, were by their lot twelve cities.
41	Die Gesamtzahl der Levitenstädte, die im Gebiet der Israeliten lagen, ergab 48 Städte mit ihren Viehweiden.	All the cities of the Levites within the possession of the children of Israel were forty and eight cities with their suburbs.
42	Alle diese Städte bekamen die Leviten, und zu jeder Stadt gehörte das umliegende Weideland. So war es bei allen diesen Städten.	These cities were every one with their suburbs round about them: thus were all these cities.
43	Der Abschluss der Landverteilung Der Herr gab den Israeliten das ganze Land, wie er es ihren Vorfahren geschworen hatte. Sie nahmen es in Besitz und wohnten darin.	And the Lord gave unto Israel all the land which he sware to give unto their fathers; and they possessed it, and dwelt therein.
44	An allen Orten sorgte der Herr dafür, dass sie in Ruhe leben konnten. Auch das hatte er ihren Vorfahren geschworen. Keiner von ihren Feinden konnte ihnen standhalten. Alle Feinde gab der Herr in ihre Gewalt.	And the Lord gave them rest round about, according to all that he sware unto their fathers: and there stood not a man of all their enemies before them; the Lord delivered all their enemies into their hand.
45	Keine einzige von seinen Verheißungen blieb unerfüllt, die der Herr ganz Israel gegeben hat. Alle sind sie eingetroffen.	There failed not ought of any good thing which the Lord had spoken unto the house of Israel; all came to pass.
