1	Niemand darf sich eine Frau seines Vaters nehmen. Denn so würde er seinen Vater entehren.	He that is wounded in the stones, or hath his privy member cut off, shall not enter into the congregation of the Lord.
2	Bestimmungen zur Teilnahme am Gottesdienst Folgende Personen dürfen nicht teilnehmen, wenn sich Israel als Gemeinde des Herrn versammelt: Wer einen verletzten Hoden oder Penis hat,	A bastard shall not enter into the congregation of the Lord; even to his tenth generation shall he not enter into the congregation of the Lord.
3	wer ein Elternteil hat, das nicht zum Volk gehört. Auch ihre Nachkommen bis in die zehnte Generation dürfen nicht in die Versammlung des Herrn kommen.	An Ammonite or Moabite shall not enter into the congregation of the Lord; even to their tenth generation shall they not enter into the congregation of the Lord for ever:
4	Kein Ammoniter oder Moabiter gehört in die Versammlung des Herrn. Auch ihre Nachkommen bis in die zehnte Generation gehören nicht in die Versammlung des Herrn. Das gilt für alle Zeit.	Because they met you not with bread and with water in the way, when ye came forth out of Egypt; and because they hired against thee Balaam the son of Beor of Pethor of Mesopotamia, to curse thee.
5	Denn diese Völker waren nicht freundlich zu euch. Sie haben euch weder Brot noch Wasser gebracht, als ihr aus Ägypten geflohen seid. Stattdessen hat Moab Bileam beauftragt, den Sohn von Beor aus Petor in Mesopotamien. Sie haben ihn dafür bezahlt, über euch einen Fluch auszusprechen.	Nevertheless the Lord thy God would not hearken unto Balaam; but the Lord thy God turned the curse into a blessing unto thee, because the Lord thy God loved thee.
6	Doch der Herr, dein Gott, ließ sich nicht beeinflussen und wollte nicht auf Bileam hören. Der Herr, dein Gott, verwandelte Fluch in Segen. Denn der Herr, dein Gott, liebt dich.	Thou shalt not seek their peace nor their prosperity all thy days for ever.
7	Niemals darfst du dich für diese Völker einsetzen, weder für ihren Frieden noch für ihren Wohlstand!	Thou shalt not abhor an Edomite; for he is thy brother: thou shalt not abhor an Egyptian; because thou wast a stranger in his land.
8	Einen Edomiter dagegen sollst du nicht ausschließen. Denn er ist dein Bruder. Auch einen Ägypter sollst du nicht ausschließen. Denn in seinem Land hast du als Fremder gelebt.	The children that are begotten of them shall enter into the congregation of the Lord in their third generation.
9	Ihre Nachkommen ab der dritten Generation dürfen in die Versammlung des Herrn kommen.	When the host goeth forth against thine enemies, then keep thee from every wicked thing.
10	Regeln für die Reinheit im Kriegsfall Wenn du gegen deine Feinde ins Feld ziehst und dein Kriegslager aufschlägst, dann gib acht: Halte dich von allem fern, was mit der Nähe Gottes nicht vereinbar ist!	If there be among you any man, that is not clean by reason of uncleanness that chanceth him by night, then shall he go abroad out of the camp, he shall not come within the camp:
11	Folgender Fall: Einer deiner Männer ist nicht mehr rein, er hatte nachts einen Samenerguss. Dann soll er das Lager verlassen und erst einmal nicht zurückkommen.	But it shall be, when evening cometh on, he shall wash himself with water: and when the sun is down, he shall come into the camp again.
12	Gegen Abend soll er sich mit Wasser abwaschen und erst nach Sonnenuntergang ins Lager zurückkehren.	Thou shalt have a place also without the camp, whither thou shalt go forth abroad:
13	Wenn du musst, sollst du aus dem Lager gehen. Dort kannst du dein Geschäft erledigen.	And thou shalt have a paddle upon thy weapon; and it shall be, when thou wilt ease thyself abroad, thou shalt dig therewith, and shalt turn back and cover that which cometh from thee:
14	Hab immer eine kleine Schaufel dabei. Grab damit ein Loch, bevor du dich hinhockst. Wenn du fertig bist, deck deinen Haufen zu.	For the Lord thy God walketh in the midst of thy camp, to deliver thee, and to give up thine enemies before thee; therefore shall thy camp be holy: that he see no unclean thing in thee, and turn away from thee.
15	Denn der Herr, dein Gott, zieht mit euch. Er ist mitten in deinem Lager, um dir zu helfen und dir den Sieg über deine Feinde zu schenken. Deshalb soll dein Lager heilig sein: Er soll nichts bei dir sehen, was unanständig ist. Sonst wird er sich von dir abwenden.	Thou shalt not deliver unto his master the servant which is escaped from his master unto thee:
16	Regel für den Umgang mit entlaufenen Sklaven Du sollst einen Sklaven nicht ausliefern, wenn er bei dir Schutz sucht. Du sollst ihn nicht an seinen Besitzer zurückgeben, wenn er vor ihm geflohen ist.	He shall dwell with thee, even among you, in that place which he shall choose in one of thy gates, where it liketh him best: thou shalt not oppress him.
17	Lass ihn bei dir wohnen in einer deiner Städte, die er sich aussucht – dort, wo es ihm gefällt. Nutze seine Notlage nicht aus!	There shall be no whore of the daughters of Israel, nor a sodomite of the sons of Israel.
18	Regeln für das Geschäftsleben, für Gelübde und Mundraub Keine von den Töchtern Israels darf bei der Hurerei am Tempel mitmachen. Dasselbe gilt für die Söhne Israels.	Thou shalt not bring the hire of a whore, or the price of a dog, into the house of the Lord thy God for any vow: for even both these are abomination unto the Lord thy God.
19	Bring keinen Hurenlohn und kein Hundegeld in das Haus des Herrn, deines Gottes! Auch wenn du ein Gelübde erfüllen musst, verwende kein Geld aus schmutzigen Geschäften. Denn der Herr, dein Gott, verabscheut beides.	Thou shalt not lend upon usury to thy brother; usury of money, usury of victuals, usury of any thing that is lent upon usury:
20	Du sollst von einem Israeliten keine Zinsen nehmen – er ist doch dein Bruder. Nimm keine Zinsen, wenn du ihm Geld geliehen hast oder wenn du ihm Essen geliehen hast! Auch für irgendetwas anderes, das man leihen kann, darfst du keinen Zins erheben.	Unto a stranger thou mayest lend upon usury; but unto thy brother thou shalt not lend upon usury: that the Lord thy God may bless thee in all that thou settest thine hand to in the land whither thou goest to possess it.
21	Von einem Fremden darfst du Zinsen verlangen, aber von deinem Bruder nicht. Dann wird der Herr, dein Gott, dich segnen bei all deiner Arbeit – in dem Land, in das du kommst, um es in Besitz zu nehmen.	When thou shalt vow a vow unto the Lord thy God, thou shalt not slack to pay it: for the Lord thy God will surely require it of thee; and it would be sin in thee.
22	Wenn du vor dem Herrn, deinem Gott, ein Gelübde abgelegt hast, dann zögere nicht, es zu erfüllen! Denn der Herr, dein Gott, wird es von dir einfordern. Zögerst du, wird es dir als Sünde angerechnet.	But if thou shalt forbear to vow, it shall be no sin in thee.
23	Hast du kein Gelübde abgelegt, wird es dir auch nicht als Sünde angerechnet.	That which is gone out of thy lips thou shalt keep and perform; even a freewill offering, according as thou hast vowed unto the Lord thy God, which thou hast promised with thy mouth.
24	Doch was dir über die Lippen gekommen ist, sollst du erfüllen. Tu das, was dein Mund ausgesprochen hat! Denn du hast es dem Herrn, deinem Gott, aus freien Stücken so versprochen.	When thou comest into thy neighbour’s vineyard, then thou mayest eat grapes thy fill at thine own pleasure; but thou shalt not put any in thy vessel.
25	Wenn du am Weinberg eines anderen vorbeikommst, darfst du nach Herzenslust Trauben essen. Aber in ein Gefäß darfst du sie nicht sammeln.	When thou comest into the standing corn of thy neighbour, then thou mayest pluck the ears with thine hand; but thou shalt not move a sickle unto thy neighbour’s standing corn.
26	Wenn du am Kornfeld eines anderen vorbeikommst, darfst du mit der Hand Ähren abreißen. Aber mit der Sichel darfst du das Korn nicht ernten.	—
