1	Die Stadt Gottes EIN LIED, EIN PSALM DER KORACHITER.	Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised in the city of our God, in the mountain of his holiness.
2	Groß ist der Herr und hoch zu loben in der Stadt unseres Gottes:	Beautiful for situation, the joy of the whole earth, is mount Zion, on the sides of the north, the city of the great King.
3	Sein heiliger Berg, die schönste Erhebung, ist eine Freude für die ganze Welt! Der Berg Zion, der Gipfel des Nordens, ist die Stadt des großen Königs.	God is known in her palaces for a refuge.
4	Gott wohnt in ihren Palästen. Als feste Burg ist er bekannt!	For, lo, the kings were assembled, they passed by together.
5	Seht, Könige hatten sich versammelt, sie zogen gemeinsam gegen die Stadt.	They saw it, and so they marvelled; they were troubled, and hasted away.
6	Als sie aufsahen, erstarrten sie vor Schreck, verloren den Mut, liefen verstört davon.	Fear took hold upon them there, and pain, as of a woman in travail.
7	Sie bebten am ganzen Leib, so heftig wie eine Frau in den Wehen –	Thou breakest the ships of Tarshish with an east wind.
8	so heftig wie ein Orkan aus dem Osten, der die Schiffe aus Tarschisch zerschmettert.	As we have heard, so have we seen in the city of the Lord of hosts, in the city of our God: God will establish it for ever. Selah.
9	Früher hatten wir davon nur gehört, jetzt sahen wir es mit eigenen Augen – in der Stadt des Herrn Zebaot, in der Stadt unseres Gottes. Gott lässt sie für immer bestehen. Sela.	We have thought of thy lovingkindness, O God, in the midst of thy temple.
10	Gott, wir denken an deine Güte, wenn wir in deinem Tempel sind.	According to thy name, O God, so is thy praise unto the ends of the earth: thy right hand is full of righteousness.
11	Groß wie dein Name, Gott, so ist dein Ruhm: Bis an die Ränder der Erde soll er dringen. Deine starke Hand sorgt für Gerechtigkeit.	Let mount Zion rejoice, let the daughters of Judah be glad, because of thy judgments.
12	Freude herrscht auf dem Berg Zion, die Töchter Judas brechen in Jubel aus. Denn du setzt das Recht in Kraft.	Walk about Zion, and go round about her: tell the towers thereof.
13	Geht um den Zion herum! Umschreitet ihn, zählt seine Türme!	Mark ye well her bulwarks, consider her palaces; that ye may tell it to the generation following.
14	Bewundert seine starken Mauern! Bestaunt seine Paläste, wenn ihr sie seht! Dann könnt ihr euren Kindern davon erzählen:	For this God is our God for ever and ever: he will be our guide even unto death.
15	»Dieser Gott ist unser Gott für alle Zeit. Er wird uns sicher durchs Leben führen.«	—
