1	Gott ist mein ganzes Glück EINE INSCHRIFT, VON DAVID. Behüte mich, Gott! Denn bei dir suche ich Zuflucht.	Preserve me, O God: for in thee do I put my trust.
2	Ich sprach zum Herrn: »Du bist mein Herr! Du allein bist mein ganzes Glück.«	O my soul, thou hast said unto the Lord, Thou art my Lord: my goodness extendeth not to thee;
3	Doch über die Scheinheiligen im Land, über sie und die Mächtigen sagte ich: »Nichts gefällt mir an ihrem Tun!«	But to the saints that are in the earth, and to the excellent, in whom is all my delight.
4	Zahlreich sind ihre Götterbilder, sie umwerben einen anderen Gott. Sie spenden Trankopfer von Blut. Doch ich will so etwas nicht darbringen. Und die Namen der Spender sollen nicht über meine Lippen kommen.	Their sorrows shall be multiplied that hasten after another god: their drink offerings of blood will I not offer, nor take up their names into my lips.
5	Der Herr ist mein Erbteil und bestimmt mein Schicksal. Du bist es, der mein Los festgelegt hat.	The Lord is the portion of mine inheritance and of my cup: thou maintainest my lot.
6	Mein Los fiel auf ein schönes Land. Ja, ein solches Erbteil gefällt mir gut.	The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places; yea, I have a goodly heritage.
7	Ich preise den Herrn, der mich beraten hat. Selbst in den Nächten denke ich darüber nach.	I will bless the Lord, who hath given me counsel: my reins also instruct me in the night seasons.
8	Der Herr steht mir immer vor Augen. Mit ihm an meiner Seite falle ich nicht.	I have set the Lord always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.
9	Darum ist mein Herz so fröhlich und meine Seele jubelt vor Freude. Auch für meinen Leib ist gesorgt.	Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth: my flesh also shall rest in hope.
10	Denn du gibst mich nicht dem Totenreich preis. Du lässt mich das Grab noch nicht sehen. Ich gehöre doch zu denen, die dir dienen.	For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.
11	Du zeigst mir den Weg zum Leben. Große Freude finde ich in deiner Gegenwart und Glück an deiner Seite für immer.	Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.
