| 1 | Ó Senhor, ouve a minha oração, inclina os ouvidos ás minhas supplicas: escuta-me segundo a tua verdade, e segundo a tua justiça, | Hear my prayer, O Lord, give ear to my supplications: in thy faithfulness answer me, and in thy righteousness. |
| 2 | E não entres em juizo com o teu servo, porque á tua vista não se achará justo nenhum vivente. | And enter not into judgment with thy servant: for in thy sight shall no man living be justified. |
| 3 | Pois o inimigo perseguiu a minha alma; atropellou-me até ao chão; fez-me habitar na escuridão, como aquelles que morreram ha muito. | For the enemy hath persecuted my soul; he hath smitten my life down to the ground; he hath made me to dwell in darkness, as those that have been long dead. |
| 4 | Pelo que o meu espirito se angustia em mim; e o meu coração em mim está desolado. | Therefore is my spirit overwhelmed within me; my heart within me is desolate. |
| 5 | Lembro-me dos dias antigos; considero todos os teus feitos; medito na obra das tuas mãos. | I remember the days of old; I meditate on all thy works; I muse on the work of thy hands. |

| 8 | Faze-me ouvir a tua benignidade pela manhã, pois em ti confio; faze-me saber o caminho que devo seguir, porque a ti levanto a minha alma. | Cause me to hear thy lovingkindness in the morning; for in thee do I trust: cause me to know the way wherein I should walk; for I lift up my soul unto thee. |

| 11 | Vivifica-me, ó Senhor, por amor do teu nome; por amor da tua justiça, tira a minha alma da angustia. | Quicken me, O Lord, for thy name’s sake: for thy righteousness’ sake bring my soul out of trouble. |
