| 1 | Não a nós, Senhor, não a nós, mas ao teu nome dá gloria, por amor da tua benignidade e da tua verdade. | Not unto us, O Lord, not unto us, but unto thy name give glory, for thy mercy, and for thy truth’s sake. |
| 2 | Porque dirão as nações: Onde está o seu Deus? | Wherefore should the heathen say, Where is now their God? |
| 3 | Porém o nosso Deus está nos céus: fez tudo o que lhe aprouve. | But our God is in the heavens: he hath done whatsoever he hath pleased. |
| 4 | Os idolos d'elles são prata e oiro, obra das mãos dos homens. | Their idols are silver and gold, the work of men’s hands. |
| 5 | Teem bocca mas não fallam: olhos teem, mas não vêem: | They have mouths, but they speak not: eyes have they, but they see not: |
| 6 | Teem ouvidos, mas não ouvem; narizes teem, mas não cheiram: | They have ears, but they hear not: noses have they, but they smell not: |
