— Truly my soul waiteth upon God: from him cometh my salvation.

psalmus David cum esset in deserto Iudaeae
Deus Deus meus ad te de luce vigilo sitivit in te anima mea quam multipliciter tibi caro mea
He only is my rock and my salvation; he is my defence; I shall not be greatly moved.
in terra deserta et invia et inaquosa sic in sancto apparui tibi ut viderem virtutem tuam et gloriam tuam How long will ye imagine mischief against a man? ye shall be slain all of you: as a bowing wall shall ye be, and as a tottering fence.
quoniam melior est misericordia tua super vitas labia mea laudabunt te They only consult to cast him down from his excellency: they delight in lies: they bless with their mouth, but they curse inwardly. Selah.
sic benedicam te in vita mea in nomine tuo levabo manus meas My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him.
sicut adipe et pinguidine repleatur anima mea et labia exultationis laudabit os meum He only is my rock and my salvation: he is my defence; I shall not be moved.
si memor fui tui super stratum meum in matutinis meditabar in te In God is my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God.
quia fuisti adiutor meus et in velamento alarum tuarum exultabo Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah.
adhesit anima mea post te me suscepit dextera tua Surely men of low degree are vanity, and men of high degree are a lie: to be laid in the balance, they are altogether lighter than vanity.
ipsi vero in vanum quaesierunt animam meam introibunt in inferiora terrae Trust not in oppression, and become not vain in robbery: if riches increase, set not your heart upon them.
tradentur in manus gladii partes vulpium erunt God hath spoken once; twice have I heard this; that power belongeth unto God.
rex vero laetabitur in Deo laudabitur omnis qui iurat in eo quia obstructum est os loquentium iniqua Also unto thee, O Lord, belongeth mercy: for thou renderest to every man according to his work.
