1	De profundis clamavi ad te Domine	Many a time have they afflicted me from my youth, may Israel now say:
2	canticum graduum Domine exaudi vocem meam fiant aures tuae intendentes in vocem deprecationis meae	Many a time have they afflicted me from my youth: yet they have not prevailed against me.
3	si iniquitates observabis Domine Domine quis sustinebit	The plowers plowed upon my back: they made long their furrows.
4	quia apud te propitiatio est propter legem tuam sustinui te Domine sustinuit anima mea in verbum eius	The Lord is righteous: he hath cut asunder the cords of the wicked.
5	speravit anima mea in Domino	Let them all be confounded and turned back that hate Zion.
6	a custodia matutina usque ad noctem speret Israhel in Domino	Let them be as the grass upon the housetops, which withereth afore it groweth up:
7	quia apud Dominum misericordia et copiosa apud eum redemptio	Wherewith the mower filleth not his hand; nor he that bindeth sheaves his bosom.
8	et ipse redimet Israhel ex omnibus iniquitatibus eius	Neither do they which go by say, The blessing of the Lord be upon you: we bless you in the name of the Lord.
