Mepekune' Imam Bohe hi Stefanus, na'uli': "Makono mpu'u hewa to ra'uli' bali' -nu toera-e?" Then said the high priest, Are these things so?
Na'uli' Stefanus: "Ompi' -ompi', tuama-tuama! Pe'epei-ka-kuwo ulu lolita-ku! Owi, nto'u ntu'a-ta Abraham hi tana' Mesopotamia-pidi, kako'ia-na mentoli tumai hi ngata Haran, Alata'ala to bohe kabaraka' -na mehupa' hi ntu'a-ta toei, And he said, Men, brethren, and fathers, hearken; The God of glory appeared unto our father Abraham, when he was in Mesopotamia, before he dwelt in Charran,
na'uli' -ki: `Palahii ngata-nu pai' ompi' -nu. Hilou-ko hi ngata to kutudo' -koko mpai'.' And said unto him, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and come into the land which I shall shew thee.
Toe pai' napalahii mpu'u-mi tana' -ra to Kasdim tumai hi ngata Haran. Hi ngata Haran toe, tuama-na Abraham mate-mi. Pai' oti toe, Alata'ala mpopentoli wo'o-imi Abraham tumai hi tana' tohe'i, to tapo'ohai' -mi tempo toi-e. Then came he out of the land of the Chaldeans, and dwelt in Charran: and from thence, when his father was dead, he removed him into this land, wherein ye now dwell.
Nto'u toe, Alata'ala uma mpowai' tana' toi hi Abraham, nau' hampotomia. Sampale-di, Alata'ala mojanci hi Abraham, na'uli': `Tana' tohe'i mpai' kuwai' -koko, duu' rata hi muli-muli-nu.' Hiaa' nto'u toe, ko'ia-hawo ria ana' -na. And he gave him none inheritance in it, no, not so much as to set his foot on: yet he promised that he would give it to him for a possession, and to his seed after him, when as yet he had no child.
Aga Alata'ala mpo'uli' -ki Abraham hewa toi: `Muli-nu mpai' mesowo' hi ngata doo. Pue' ngata toera mpai' mpobatua-ra pai' mpobalinai' -ra hante makanca rala-na opo' atu mpae. And God spake on this wise, That his seed should sojourn in a strange land; and that they should bring them into bondage, and entreat them evil four hundred years.
Tapi' oti toe, Aku' moto mpohuku' pue' ngata to mpobatua muli-nu toera, pai' lako' malai-rada ngkai tana' tetu, tumai mpopue' -a hi tana' tohe'i.' Wae-mi lolita-na Alata'ala hi Abraham. And the nation to whom they shall be in bondage will I judge, said God: and after that shall they come forth, and serve me in this place.
Oti toe, Alata'ala mpobabehi pojanci posidaia' -na hante Abraham, pai' nahubui bona Abraham pai' hawe'ea muli-na ratini'. Ada petini' toe jadi' tanda pojanci-na Alata'ala hante muli Abraham. Jadi', putu mpu'u-mi ana' Abraham to rahanga' Ishak, natini' -imi hi eo kawalu-na. Oti toe wo'o-hawo, Ishak mpotini' Yakub ana' -na. Pai' Yakub mpotini' ana' -na to hampulu' rodua. Pai' hira' toe-mi to jadi' ntu'a-ta kita' to Yahudi. And he gave him the covenant of circumcision: and so Abraham begat Isaac, and circumcised him the eighth day; and Isaac begat Jacob; and Jacob begat the twelve patriarchs.
"Ntu'a-ta toera mohingi' hi Yusuf ompi' -ra, alaa-na rapobalu' -i pai' -i rapobatua hi tana' Mesir. Aga Alata'ala mpodohei-i, And the patriarchs, moved with envy, sold Joseph into Egypt: but God was with him,
pai' ka'omea-na nabahaka-imi ngkai hawe'ea kaparia-na. Nawai' -i kapantea to mpokagoe' nono Firaun, magau' hi tana' Mesir, alaa-na Firaun mpo'ongko' -i jadi' gubernur tana' Mesir pai' jadi' topohawa' hi rala tomi-na. And delivered him out of all his afflictions, and gave him favour and wisdom in the sight of Pharaoh king of Egypt; and he made him governor over Egypt and all his house.
Ngkai ree, rata-mi oro' bohe hobo' hi tana' Mesir pai' tana' Kanaan. Rata-mi oro' bohe toe, wori' tauna to ntodohaka, pai' ntu'a-ta wo'o uma-pi ria pongkoni' -ra. Now there came a dearth over all the land of Egypt and Chanaan, and great affliction: and our fathers found no sustenance.
Ngkai ree, na'epe Yakub, ria-hana pae rapobalu' hi Mesir. Toe pai' nahubui-ramo ana' -ana' -na, ntu'a-ta toera-e, hilou hi Mesir. Tohe'e pomako' -ra to lomo' -na hilou hi Mesir. But when Jacob heard that there was corn in Egypt, he sent out our fathers first.
Kahilou-ra karongkani-na, nalohu-miraka Yusuf kahi'a-nami ompi' -ra. Nto'u toe lako' na'inca-di Firaun kahema-ra ompi' -na Yusuf. And at the second time Joseph was made known to his brethren; and Joseph’s kindred was made known unto Pharaoh.
Oti toe, Yusuf mpakatu kareba hilou hi Yakub tuama-na, mpo'uli' -ki bona hira' hantinaa mentoli hilou hi tana' Mesir. Kawori' tauna to mentoli hilou hi Mesir toe, pitu mpulu' lima. Then sent Joseph, and called his father Jacob to him, and all his kindred, threescore and fifteen souls.
Jadi', mentoli mpu'u-imi Yakub hi tana' Mesir, pai' tida hi ria duu' -na mate. Wae wo'o hawe'ea ana' -na. So Jacob went down into Egypt, and died, he, and our fathers,
Aga wuku-ra rakeni nculii' moto tumai hi ngata Sikhem pai' ratana hi rala daeo' to na'oli Abraham ngkai muli Hemor hante doi pera'. And were carried over into Sychem, and laid in the sepulchre that Abraham bought for a sum of money of the sons of Emmor the father of Sychem.
"Mahaa-hae ngkai ree, neo' rata-mi tempo-na Alata'ala mpopadupa' pojanci-na hi Abraham. Momuli-muli-ramo ntu'a-ta hi tana' Mesir, duu' -na wori' lia-ramo. But when the time of the promise drew nigh, which God had sworn to Abraham, the people grew and multiplied in Egypt,
Ka'omea-na, ria magau' to moparenta hi Mesir, to uma mpokiwoi kahema-na Yusuf. Till another king arose, which knew not Joseph.
Magau' toei mposapai ntu'a-ta owi pai' nabalinai' -ra. Nahubui-ra mpotadi ana'lei-ra bona mate. The same dealt subtilly with our kindred, and evil entreated our fathers, so that they cast out their young children, to the end they might not live.
Nto'u toe, putu-imi-hawo Musa. Musa toei, hadua ana' to subo' lia. Tolu mula-i-wadi rapodoo rala tomi totu'a-na, pai' -i ratadi. In which time Moses was born, and was exceeding fair, and nourished up in his father’s house three months:
Hi karatadi-na toe, ana' toronaa Firaun mpotima' -i, pai' napodoo naponcawa ana' -na moto-mi. And when he was cast out, Pharaoh’s daughter took him up, and nourished him for her own son.
Jadi', Musa rapoposikola hi hawe'ea kapantea to Mesir, pai' alaa-na mokuasa mpu'u-i hi pololita-na pai' hi pongkale-na. And Moses was learned in all the wisdom of the Egyptians, and was mighty in words and in deeds.
"Kahono' -na opo' mpulu' mpae-mi umuru-na Musa, ria patuju-na doko' mpencuai' hingka ompi' -na muli Israel. And when he was full forty years old, it came into his heart to visit his brethren the children of Israel.
Karata-na hi ria, mpohilo-i hadua to Israel naweba' hadua to Mesir. Kahilou-nami mpehawa-ki ompi' -na, mpopatehi to Mesir toei. And seeing one of them suffer wrong, he defended him, and avenged him that was oppressed, and smote the Egyptian:
Na'ulia' -hana Musa, ra'inca moto ompi' -na kahi'a-nami to napopale Alata'ala mpobahaka-ra ngkai karapobatuaa-ra. Ntaa' uma-di ra'incai. For he supposed his brethren would have understood how that God by his hand would deliver them: but they understood not.
"Kamepulo-na, nahilo wo'o rodua to motuda', paka' to Israel. Jadi', apa' doko' napopohintuwu' -ra, toe pai' na'uli' -miraka: `Napa pai' motuda' moto-mokoi, koi' ntali ompi'?' And the next day he shewed himself unto them as they strove, and would have set them at one again, saying, Sirs, ye are brethren; why do ye wrong one to another?
Tapi' to hadua to mpoweba' -mi doo-na mpotulaka Musa pai' na'uli' -ki: `Hema to mpo'ongko' -ko jadi' pangkeni to mpobotuhi kara-kara-kai? But he that did his neighbour wrong thrust him away, saying, Who made thee a ruler and a judge over us?
Ba doko' mpopatehi aku' wo'o-moko, hewa kampopatehi-nu to Mesir wengi-e?' Wilt thou kill me, as thou diddest the Egyptian yesterday?
Kana'epe-na Musa telohu-mi kehi-na toe, metibo' -imi ngkai tana' Mesir hilou tida hi tana' Midian. Hi ria-i motobinei, pai' -i mo'anai' rodua. Then fled Moses at this saying, and was a stranger in the land of Madian, where he begat two sons.
"Opo' mpulu' mpae ngkai ree, mehupa' hadua mala'eka mpohirua' -ki Musa hi tana' to wao' mohu' Bulu' Sinai. Mala'eka toe mehupa' hi rala julumpu to jela'. And when forty years were expired, there appeared to him in the wilderness of mount Sina an angel of the Lord in a flame of fire in a bush.
Konce-i Musa mpohilo toe, toe pai' hilou namohui' doko' na'inca ba napa-i-hawo. Nto'u toe, na'epe lolita Pue' to mpo'uli': When Moses saw it, he wondered at the sight: and as he drew near to behold it, the voice of the Lord came unto him,
`Aku' -mi Alata'ala to rapue' ntu'a-nu. Aku' -mi Alata'ala to napue' Abraham, Ishak pai' Yakub.' Mpo'epe toe, moridi' -imi Musa nakeni eka' -na, pai' uma-ipi daho' mponaa julumpu to jela' toe. Saying, I am the God of thy fathers, the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. Then Moses trembled, and durst not behold.
Na'uli' wo'o-mi Pue' mpo'uli' -ki: `Roncu sapatu' -nu, apa' tana' to nupokorei tetu-e, tana' to moroli'. Then said the Lord to him, Put off thy shoes from thy feet: for the place where thou standest is holy ground.
Kuhilo mpu'u-mi kapai' tuwu' -ra ntodea-ku to Israel hi Mesir. Ku'epe-mi pontodohaka-ra. Toe pai' hompo-ama tumai doko' mpobahaka-ra. Jadi', tumai-ko, kuhubui-ko hilou hi tana' Mesir, bona mpobahaka-ra to Israel.' Toe-mi lolita-na Pue' Alata'ala hi Musa. I have seen, I have seen the affliction of my people which is in Egypt, and I have heard their groaning, and am come down to deliver them. And now come, I will send thee into Egypt.
"Jadi', Musa to rasapuaka to Israel wengi, hi'a lau-mi to nahubui Alata'ala hilou mpobahaka-ra. Lomo' -na rasapuaka-i, ra'uli': `Hema to mpo'ongko' -ko jadi' pangkeni to mpobotuhi kara-kara-kai?' Hiaa' hi'a mpu'u-mi to nakio' Alata'ala hante wiwi mala'eka to mpololitai-i ngkai rala julumpu. Hi'a mpu'u-mi to na'ongko' Alata'ala jadi' pangkeni to mpobahaka-ra. This Moses whom they refused, saying, Who made thee a ruler and a judge? the same did God send to be a ruler and a deliverer by the hand of the angel which appeared to him in the bush.
Musa toe-mile to mpakeni-ra malai ngkai tana' Mesir. Hi'a-mi to mpobabehi anu mobaraka' pai' tanda mekoncehi hi Mesir, hi Tahi' Molei pai' hi tana' to wao' rala-na opo' mpulu' mpae. He brought them out, after that he had shewed wonders and signs in the land of Egypt, and in the Red sea, and in the wilderness forty years.
Musa toe wo'o-mi to mpo'uli' -raka to Israel owi hewa toi: `Alata'ala mpai' mpo'ongko' hadua ngkai ompi' -ni jadi' nabi hewa aku' toi.' This is that Moses, which said unto the children of Israel, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear.
Musa toe-mile to mpodoo-ra ntodea to Israel hi tana' to wao' -e. Hi'a-mi to mpo'epe lolita mala'eka to mpololitai-i hi lolo Bulu' Sinai, pai' -i jadi' tauntongo' to mpoparata lolita toe hi ntu'a-ta owi. Hi'a to mpotarima ngkai Pue' Ala lolita to tuwu' to raparata-taka duu' tempo toi-e. This is he, that was in the church in the wilderness with the angel which spake to him in the mount Sina, and with our fathers: who received the lively oracles to give unto us:
"Aga ntu'a-ta owi, uma-ra-rana dota mengkoru hi Musa. Rasapuaka-i jadi' pangkeni-ra. Doko' nculii' lau-ramo hilou hi tana' Mesir. To whom our fathers would not obey, but thrust him from them, and in their hearts turned back again into Egypt,
Ra'uli' mpo'uli' -ki Harun: `Babehi-taka pinotau to ma'ala tapue', bona pinotau tetu-damo to mpokeni-ta. Apa' uma-pi ki'incai napa to jadi' hi Musa tetui to mpakeni-ta malai ngkai Mesir.' Saying unto Aaron, Make us gods to go before us: for as for this Moses, which brought us out of the land of Egypt, we wot not what is become of him.
Ngkai ree, rababehi mpu'u-mi lence ana' japi ngkai bulawa. Rapue' -mi lence to rababehi tetu, rasumale' -ki porewua, pai' mosusa' -ramo mpo'une' babehia pale-ra moto. And they made a calf in those days, and offered sacrifice unto the idol, and rejoiced in the works of their own hands.
Toe pai' Alata'ala mpalahii-ra, napelele' -ra mpopue' betue' hi langi'. Apa' ria Lolita Pue' Ala to te'uki' hi rala sura nabi-nabi, hewa toi moni-na: `Ee to Israel! Bula-ni hi tana' to wao' rala-na opo' mpulu' mpae, mposumale' -koi porewua jadi' pepue' -ni. Aga bela hi Aku' pepue' -ni tetu. Then God turned, and gave them up to worship the host of heaven; as it is written in the book of the prophets, O ye house of Israel, have ye offered to me slain beasts and sacrifices by the space of forty years in the wilderness?
Mepue' -koi hi pue' to rahanga' Molokh, pai' tomi-na nikeni-keni oa' dohe-ni. Mepue' wo'o-koi hi pinotau to molence betue' Refan. Lence-lence toe-mi to nibabehi bona nipue'. Toe pai' kupelele' moto-koi mpai' ratawani, pai' rakeni hilou duu' rata hi mali ria ngata Babel.' Yea, ye took up the tabernacle of Moloch, and the star of your god Remphan, figures which ye made to worship them: and I will carry you away beyond Babylon.
"Bula-ra ntu'a-ta owi hi tana' to wao', Pue' Ala mpohubui Musa mpobabehi kemah jadi' tomi pepuea' -ra. Jadi', kemah pepuea' toe rakeni oa' ntu'a-ta owi bula-ra hi tana' to wao'. Our fathers had the tabernacle of witness in the wilderness, as he had appointed, speaking unto Moses, that he should make it according to the fashion that he had seen.
Mahaa-hae ngkai ree, mate-ramo ntu'a-ta hi tana' to wao' toe. Pai' ana' -ra mpokeni kemah pepuea' -ra toe mesua' hi tana' Kanaan toi. Jadi' kemah pepuea' toe, ria-pidi hi laintongo' to Israel owi, duu' rata hi tempo-na Magau' Daud. Which also our fathers that came after brought in with Jesus into the possession of the Gentiles, whom God drave out before the face of our fathers, unto the days of David;
Daud tohe'e mpakagoe' nono Pue' Ala. Mekakae-i hi Pue' Ala, na'uli': `O Alata'ala to napue' Yakub owi, kuperapi' bona nupiliu-a mpowangu tomi po'ohaa' -nu.' Who found favour before God, and desired to find a tabernacle for the God of Jacob.
Aga uma napiliu-i. Ana' -na-damo mpai' to rahanga' Salomo to mpowangu Tomi Alata'ala. But Solomon built him an house.
"Tapi' kakoo-kono-na, Alata'ala uma-i-hana mo'oha' hi tomi to nababehi manusia'. Apa' meliu kabaraka' -na ngkai hawe'ea to rapue'. Ria hadua nabi owi to mpo'uli' hewa toi: Howbeit the most High dwelleth not in temples made with hands; as saith the prophet,
Na'uli' Pue' Ala: `Langi' pohuraa-ku, pai' dunia' pentodua-ku. Ha tomi napa-i mpai' to doko' niwangu-kae? Hiapa mpai' to natao jadi' tomi katidaa-kue? Heaven is my throne, and earth is my footstool: what house will ye build me? saith the Lord: or what is the place of my rest?
Hiaa' bo Aku' -di to mpajadi' hawe'ea-nae!' Wae-mi Lolita Pue'." Hath not my hand made all these things?
Na'uli' wo'o-mi Stefanus mpo'uli' -raka totu'a to Yahudi: "Uma mowo katu'a maga-ni ompi'! Uma mowo kamengkabatu-ni! Uma mowo kamengkawongo-ni mpe'epei Lolita Pue' Ala! Bate hibalia hante ntu'a-ta owi-koi, mposapuaka oa' Inoha' Tomoroli'. Ye stiffnecked and uncircumcised in heart and ears, ye do always resist the Holy Ghost: as your fathers did, so do ye.
Uma ria haduaa nabi to uma rabalinai' ntu'a-ni owi. Rapatehi-ra suro-suro Alata'ala owi to mpo'uli' karia-na mpai' Batua Alata'ala to monoa', Hi'a-mi Yesus. Hiaa' hewa toe lau, koi' -mi to mpobalu' Batua Alata'ala toei hi bali' -na. Koi' to mpopatehi-i! Which of the prophets have not your fathers persecuted? and they have slain them which shewed before of the coming of the Just One; of whom ye have been now the betrayers and murderers:
Koi' to mpotarima Atura Pue' Ala to raparata mala'eka hi ntu'a-ta, aga uma nituku'." Who have received the law by the disposition of angels, and have not kept it.
Kara'epe-na topohura toera lolita Stefanus, gigi-mi nono-ra, pai' ngkuku' maga-ramo. When they heard these things, they were cut to the heart, and they gnashed on him with their teeth.
Ngkai ree, Stefanus nakuasai Inoha' Tomoroli', pai' -i mengoa' hi langi'. Nahilo-mi baraka' -na Alata'ala, pai' nahilo wo'o Yesus mokore hi mali ngka'ana Alata'ala. But he, being full of the Holy Ghost, looked up stedfastly into heaven, and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing on the right hand of God,
Na'uli' Stefanus: "Hilo-dile! Kuhilo langi' mobea pai' Ana' Manusia' mokore hi mali ngka'ana Alata'ala!" And said, Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of man standing on the right hand of God.
Ngkai ree, topohura agama toera mpo'ompo tilinga-ra, pai' -ra mejeu' mpesukui bona neo' -pi ra'epei lolita Stefanus. Karaperapai-nami, rahoko' -i, Then they cried out with a loud voice, and stopped their ears, and ran upon him with one accord,

Baju-ra toe rawai' -ki hadua tomane to rahanga' Saulus bona nadongo-raka. And cast him out of the city, and stoned him: and the witnesses laid down their clothes at a young man’s feet, whose name was Saul.
Bula-na Stefanus rapana', mekakae-imi, na'uli': "Pue' Yesus, doa-mi kao' -ku!" And they stoned Stephen, calling upon God, and saying, Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.
Oti toe, mowingkotu' -i pai' na'uli' napesukui: "Pue', neo' -ra nuhuku' ngkai jeko' -ra toi." Ka'oti-na mololita hewa toe, mate-imi. And he kneeled down, and cried with a loud voice, Lord, lay not this sin to their charge. And when he had said this, he fell asleep.
