Teofilus to rabila': Wori' -mi tauna mperao mpo'uki' dala ngkatuwu' -na Yesus, hewa to jadi' ba hangkuja mpae to liu hi laintongo' -ta. Forasmuch as many have taken in hand to set forth in order a declaration of those things which are most surely believed among us,
To ra'uki' tohe'e, hibalia hante tutura to raparata-taka tauna to mpohilo mata moto-mi hawe'ea to jadi' toe ngkai lomo' -na pai' to jadi' pangkeni Lolita Pue'. Even as they delivered them unto us, which from the beginning were eyewitnesses, and ministers of the word;
Jadi', ka'oti-ku mpewulihi' hawe'ea-na ngkai tawu-na hante kanoto-noto-na, ku'uli' agina aku' wo'o-kuwo mpo'uki' tutura-na ntuku' pomeduncu-na. It seemed good to me also, having had perfect understanding of all things from the very first, to write unto thee in order, most excellent Theophilus,
Patuju-ku, bona nu'inca kamakono-na mpu'u napa to oti-mi ratudui' -koko. That thou mightest know the certainty of those things, wherein thou hast been instructed.
Nto'u Magau' Herodes moparenta hi tana' Yudea, ria hadua imam to rahanga' Zakharia. Zakharia toei, ngkai posantina imam muli Abia. Hanga' tobine-na, Elisabet, muli imam wo'o-i-hawo. There was in the days of Herod, the king of Judea, a certain priest named Zacharias, of the course of Abia: and his wife was of the daughters of Aaron, and her name was Elisabeth.
Tau hancamoko toera, monoa' ingku-ra hi poncilo Alata'ala, apa' ratuku' hawe'ea parenta pai' atura Pue' hante uma ria kasalaia' -na. And they were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless.
Aga uma-ra mo'anai', apa' Elisabet lalo, pai' tu'a-ramo roduaa-ra. And they had no child, because that Elisabeth was barren, and they both were now well stricken in years.
Hangkani, megoli-mi tempo-na imam-imam muli Abia to mpokamu bago Alata'ala, pai' Zakharia mpobago bago imam hi Tomi Alata'ala. And it came to pass, that while he executed the priest’s office before God in the order of his course,
Ntuku' ada-ra, mpenoa' -ra ba hema-ra to rapelihi mesua' hi rala Tomi Alata'ala mpotunu dupa'. Zakharia-mi to mpela pompenoa' -ra. According to the custom of the priest’s office, his lot was to burn incense when he went into the temple of the Lord.
Jadi', bula ntodea mosampaya hi mali-na, Zakharia mesua' hi rala Tomi Alata'ala mpotunu dupa'. And the whole multitude of the people were praying without at the time of incense.
Nto'u toe, mehupa' -mi hadua mala'eka Pue' hi mali ngka'ana meja' pontunua dupa'. And there appeared unto him an angel of the Lord standing on the right side of the altar of incense.
Kanahilo-na Zakharia mala'eka toei, konce pai' me'eka' lia-imi. And when Zacharias saw him, he was troubled, and fear fell upon him.
Na'uli' mala'eka toei: "Zakharia, neo' -ko me'eka', apa' Pue' Ala mpo'epe pomperapia' -nu. Elisabet tobine-nu mo'ana' mpai', hadua ana' tomane. Ana' tetui kana nuhanga' Yohanes. But the angel said unto him, Fear not, Zacharias: for thy prayer is heard; and thy wife Elisabeth shall bear thee a son, and thou shalt call his name John.
Uma mpai' mowo kagoe' -nu mpokagoe' ana' -nu tetui. Wori' tauna mpokagoe' kaputu-na. And thou shalt have joy and gladness; and many shall rejoice at his birth.
Hi'a jadi' tau bohe hi poncilo Pue'. Uma-i ma'ala nginu anggur ba napa-napa to melanguhi, pai' Inoha' Tomoroli' mpokuasai-i ngkai lomo' kaputu-na. For he shall be great in the sight of the Lord, and shall drink neither wine nor strong drink; and he shall be filled with the Holy Ghost, even from his mother’s womb.
Wori' muli Israel natete' nculii' bona mepangala' -ra hi Alata'ala to rapue' ntu'a-ra owi. And many of the children of Israel shall he turn to the Lord their God.
Ana' -nu tetui mpai' jadi' suro to mako' meri'ulu ngkai Pue' hante kuasa pai' kabaraka' -na nabi Elia owi. Napopohintuwu' ana' -ana' hante tuama-ra. Pai' tauna to uma mpotuku' Pue' natete' nculii' hi ohea to monoa' bona monoto nono-ra. Hawe'ea toe nababehi bona mporodo nono ntodea, bona sadia-ramo mpotarima Pue'." And he shall go before him in the spirit and power of Elias, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.
Na'uli' Zakharia mpo'uli' -ki mala'eka: "Hiaa', beiwa kaku'inca-na kamakono-na to nu'uli' tetu-e? Apa' tu'a-amadie, pai' tobine-ku tu'a wo'o-imi-hawo." And Zacharias said unto the angel, Whereby shall I know this? for I am an old man, and my wife well stricken in years.
Natompoi' mala'eka toei: "Aku' toi Gabriel, pahawaa' Alata'ala to ngkai suruga. Alata'ala mposuro-a tumai mpoparata-koko kareba toe. And the angel answering said unto him, I am Gabriel, that stand in the presence of God; and am sent to speak unto thee, and to shew thee these glad tidings.
Napa to ku'uli' -koko toe we'i, bate madupa' ane rata-pi mpai' tempo-na. Aga iko-kona, apa' uma nuparasaya lolita-kue, wae-pi ngkai wae lau, uma-poko howa' mololita duu' -na madupa' mpu'u lolita-ku." And, behold, thou shalt be dumb, and not able to speak, until the day that these things shall be performed, because thou believest not my words, which shall be fulfilled in their season.
Bula-na Zakharia hi rala Tomi Alata'ala, kapea-pea-ramo ntodea hi mali-na. Ingu' -ra apa' mahae rahi-i. And the people waited for Zacharias, and marvelled that he tarried so long in the temple.
Pehupa' -na hi mali-na, uma-ipi howa' mpololitai-ra. Muntu' mohuka' -i-damo pai' bate uma-i howa' mololita. Toe pai' ra'inca-mi ntodea karia-na to nahilo hi rala Tomi Alata'ala. And when he came out, he could not speak unto them: and they perceived that he had seen a vision in the temple: for he beckoned unto them, and remained speechless.
Hudu-mi pobago-na Zakharia hi Tomi Alata'ala, nculii' -imi hilou hi tomi-na. And it came to pass, that, as soon as the days of his ministration were accomplished, he departed to his own house.
Ko'ia mahae ngkai ree, motina'i mpu'u-imi Elisabet. Lima mula kahae-na Elisabet uma mehupa' -hupa' ngkai rala tomi-na, pai' na'uli': And after those days his wife Elisabeth conceived, and hid herself five months, saying,
"Tohe'i-e ahi' -na Pue' hi aku'. Natulungi-a mo'anai', bona uma-apa me'ea' sabana kalalo-ku." Thus hath the Lord dealt with me in the days wherein he looked on me, to take away my reproach among men.
Kahono' -na ono mula Elisabet motina'i, Alata'ala mpohubui mala'eka Gabriel hilou hi tana' Galilea, hi ngata to rahanga' Nazaret, And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth,
bona mpohirua' -ki hadua toronaa to rahanga' Maria. Toronaa toei, bula-na mokamae' hante hadua kabilasa to rahanga' Yusuf, muli Magau' Daud owi. To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin’s name was Mary.
Karata-na mala'eka hi ria, na'uli' -ki Maria: "Wori' tabe! Pue' mpogane' -ko pai' mpodohei-ko!" And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women.
Konce-i Maria mpo'epe lolita mala'eka toei, pai' -i mopekiri ba napa batua petabe-na toe. And when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and cast in her mind what manner of salutation this should be.
Na'uli' wo'o-mi mala'eka: "Neo' -ko me'eka' Maria, apa' iko-mi to napokono Alata'ala bona mporata pegane' -na. And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God.
Motina'i-ko mpai', pai' -ko mo'ana', hadua ana' tomane. Ana' tetu mpai' kana nuhanga' Yesus. And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS.
Hi'a mpai' jadi' tauna to bohe tuwu' -na, pai' -i rahanga' Ana' Alata'ala to hi suruga. Pai' Pue' Alata'ala mpo'ongko' -i jadi' Magau', hewa Magau' Daud, ntu'a-na owi. He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David:
Hi'a jadi' magau' to mpoparentai hawe'ea muli Yakub duu' kahae-hae-na, pai' poparenta-na uma ria kahudua-na." And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.
Na'uli' Maria mpo'uli' -ki mala'eka: "Beiwa-hawo kajadi' -na to nu'uli' tetu-e? Apa' ko'ia-a-kuwo motomanei." Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man?
Na'uli' mala'eka: "Inoha' Tomoroli' mpai' mana'u hi iko, pai' kabaraka' Alata'ala to hi suruga ngkamoui-ko. Toe pai' ana' to putu toe mpai' rahanga' moroli', Ana' Alata'ala. And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.
Epe-dile: ompi' -nu Elisabet-ele, to tu'a lia-imi pai' to ra'uli' doo lalo-ie, motina'i ono mula-imi-hawo! Mo'ana' -i mpai', hadua ana' tomane. And, behold, thy cousin Elisabeth, she hath also conceived a son in her old age: and this is the sixth month with her, who was called barren.
Apa' napa-napa to na'uli' Alata'ala bate kana madupa'." For with God nothing shall be impossible.
Na'uli' Maria: "Aku' toi batua-na Pue', mengkoru-ama hi hawa' -na, bona napadupa' patuju-na hi aku', hewa to nu'uli' -ka tetu." Oti toe, malai-imi mala'eka mpalahii Maria. And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word. And the angel departed from her.
Ngkai ree, pe'ongko' -nami Maria hilou hi ngata to hi bulu' -na hi tana' Yudea. And Mary arose in those days, and went into the hill country with haste, into a city of Juda;
Karata-na hi tomi Zakharia, pesua' -nami pai' -i mpotabe Elisabet. And entered into the house of Zacharias, and saluted Elisabeth.
Kana'epe-na Elisabet petabe-na Maria toe, pongkale-nami ana' to hi rala puanaka-na, pai' Elisabet, nakuasai Inoha' Tomoroli' -imi. And it came to pass, that, when Elisabeth heard the salutation of Mary, the babe leaped in her womb; and Elisabeth was filled with the Holy Ghost:
Mekio' -imi napesukui mpo'uli' -ki Maria: "Iko-mi-kona to nagane' Alata'ala meliu ngkai hawe'ea tobine ntani' -na, pai' Alata'ala mpogane' ana' to nupotina'i-ki tetu. And she spake out with a loud voice, and said, Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb.
Ha hema-a-kuwo aku' toi-e, pai' iko tina-na Pue' -ku tumai mpokinomo-a! And whence is this to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me?
Wae kaku'epe-na petabe-nu, ana' to hi rala-ku ncaliu mongkale nakeni kagoe' -na. For, lo, as soon as the voice of thy salutation sounded in mine ears, the babe leaped in my womb for joy.
Morasi' mpu'u-ko, apa' nupangala' lolita Pue', apa' napa to na'uli' -koko bate madupa'." And blessed is she that believed: for there shall be a performance of those things which were told her from the Lord.
Na'uli' Maria: Mpo'une' -a Pue' hante nono-ku mpu'u. And Mary said, My soul doth magnify the Lord,
Goe' lia-a, apa' Alata'ala Magau' Tompohore-a ngkai huku' jeko' -ku. And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour.
Nakiwoi-awa-kuwo, aku' batua-na to mpe'ahii'. Ngkai wae lau, hawe'ea tauna mpo'uli' ka'aku' -na tobine to nagane' Alata'ala. For he hath regarded the low estate of his handmaiden: for, behold, from henceforth all generations shall call me blessed.
Apa' Alata'ala to mokuasa mpopehuwu kabaraka' -na hi aku'. Moroli' hanga' -na! For he that is mighty hath done to me great things; and holy is his name.
Ma'ahi' -i hi hawe'ea tauna to mengkoru hi Hi'a, duu' rata hi muli-muli-ra. And his mercy is on them that fear him from generation to generation.
Nababehi anu mobaraka' hante kuasa-na: Tauna to molangko nono-ra nagaro' bona uma oko patuju-ra. He hath shewed strength with his arm; he hath scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts.
Magau' -magau' napohu ngkai pangka' -ra. Tauna to dingki' tuwu' -ra napomolangko. He hath put down the mighty from their seats, and exalted them of low degree.
Tauna to mo'oro' nabohui hante pongkoni' to lompe'. Tauna topo'ua' napopalai hante ngkeni woto mara. He hath filled the hungry with good things; and the rich he hath sent empty away.
— He hath holpen his servant Israel, in remembrance of his mercy;
Napopohiloi ahi' -na hi kita' muli Israel, batua-na owi. Natulungi-ta hewa to najanci hi ntu'a-ta owi. Uma nalipo' pojanci-na hi Abraham pai' hi muli-na duu' kahae-hae-na." As he spake to our fathers, to Abraham, and to his seed for ever.
Ba tolu mula kahae-na Maria mo'oha' hante Elisabet, pai' lako' nculii' -idi hilou hi tomi-na. And Mary abode with her about three months, and returned to her own house.
Rata-mi tempo-na Elisabet mo'ana'. Mo'ana' mpu'u-imi, hadua ana' tomane. Now Elisabeth’s full time came that she should be delivered; and she brought forth a son.
Tongki-ra pai' ompi' -ra mpo'epe beiwa Pue' mpopohiloi ahi' -na hi Elisabet hi kanawai' -na ana' -na toe, toe pai' goe' wo'o-ramo-rawo hangkaa-ngkania hante Elisabet. And her neighbours and her cousins heard how the Lord had shewed great mercy upon her; and they rejoiced with her.

And it came to pass, that on the eighth day they came to circumcise the child; and they called him Zacharias, after the name of his father.
Tapi' na'uli' Elisabet mpo'uli' -raka: "Neo' waetu! Bate Yohanes hanga' -na." And his mother answered and said, Not so; but he shall be called John.
Hampetompoi' -ra: "Hiaa' bo uma-hanale ria ompi' -ni to rahanga' tetu-e!" And they said unto her, There is none of thy kindred that is called by this name.
Ngkai ree, rahuka' -ki Zakharia rapompekunei' ba napa to doko' nahanga' -ki ana' -na. And they made signs to his father, how he would have him called.
Zakharia mperapi' hameha' po'ukia' pai' na'uki': "Hanga' -na Yohanes." Konce omea-ramo. And he asked for a writing table, and wrote, saying, His name is John. And they marvelled all.
Nto'u toe, muu-mule' howa' nculii' -imi mololita, pai' -i mpo'une' -une' Alata'ala. And his mouth was opened immediately, and his tongue loosed, and he spake, and praised God.
Me'eka' omea-ramo tongki-ra, pai' kareba toe molele hobo' hi bulu' -na Yudea. And fear came on all that dwelt round about them: and all these sayings were noised abroad throughout all the hill country of Judea.
Hawe'ea to mpo'epe kareba toe mokanono, ra'uli': "Ha jadi' napa-i mpai' ana' toei?" Apa' Pue' mpodohei-i hante baraka' -na. And all they that heard them laid them up in their hearts, saying, What manner of child shall this be! And the hand of the Lord was with him.
Ane Zakharia, tuama ana' toei, Inoha' Tomoroli' mpokuasai-i, pai' -i mpohowa' lolita Alata'ala, na'uli': And his father Zacharias was filled with the Holy Ghost, and prophesied, saying,
