| 2 | Toktok nau long Serubabel, pikinini man bilong Sealtiel, nambawan gavman bilong Juda, na long Josua, pikinini man bilong Josedek, dispela hetpris, na long lain i stap yet bilong ol manmeri, i spik, | Speak now to Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest, and to the residue of the people, saying, |
| 3 | Husat i stap yet namel long yupela husat i lukim dispela haus long namba wan glori bilong en? Na yupela lukim dispela nau olsem wanem? Ating i yes long em i olsem samting nating long ol ai bilong yupela taim yupela i skelim tupela? | Who is left among you that saw this house in her first glory? and how do ye see it now? is it not in your eyes in comparison of it as nothing? |
| 4 | Yet nau yu mas stap strong, O Serubabel, BIKPELA i tok. Na yu mas stap strong, O Josua, pikinini man bilong Josedek, dispela hetpris. Na yupela mas stap strong, olgeta yupela manmeri bilong dispela hap, BIKPELA i tok, na wok. Long wanem, Mi stap wantaim yupela, BIKPELA bilong ol ami i tok. | Yet now be strong, O Zerubbabel, saith the Lord; and be strong, O Joshua, son of Josedech, the high priest; and be strong, all ye people of the land, saith the Lord, and work: for I am with you, saith the Lord of hosts: |

| 6 | Long wanem, BIKPELA bilong ol ami i tok olsem, Yet wanpela taim, em i liklik taim, na Mi bai seksekim ol heven, na dispela graun, na biksi, na dispela hap graun i drai. | For thus saith the Lord of hosts; Yet once, it is a little while, and I will shake the heavens, and the earth, and the sea, and the dry land; |
| 7 | Na Mi bai seksekim olgeta kantri, na laik bilong olgeta kantri bai kam. Na Mi bai pulimapim dispela haus wantaim glori, BIKPELA bilong ol ami i tok. | And I will shake all nations, and the desire of all nations shall come: and I will fill this house with glory, saith the Lord of hosts. |

Na insait long dispela ples bai Mi givim bel isi, BIKPELA bilong ol ami i tok. | The glory of this latter house shall be greater than of the former, saith the Lord of hosts: and in this place will I give peace, saith the Lord of hosts. |

| 12 | Sapos wanpela i karim mit holi insait long arere bilong klos bilong em, na wantaim arere bilong klos bilong em em i tasim bret, o sup, o wain, o wel, o sampela kaikai, bai em i stap holi? Na ol pris i bekim na tok, Nogat. | If one bear holy flesh in the skirt of his garment, and with his skirt do touch bread, or pottage, or wine, or oil, or any meat, shall it be holy? And the priests answered and said, No. |
| 13 | Nau Hagai i tok, Sapos wanpela husat i stap doti long wanpela dai bodi i tasim wanpela bilong ol dispela, bai dispela i stap doti? Na ol pris i bekim na tok, Dispela bai stap doti. | Then said Haggai, If one that is unclean by a dead body touch any of these, shall it be unclean? And the priests answered and said, It shall be unclean. |
| 14 | Nau Hagai i bekim, na tok, Dispela lain manmeri i stap olsem, na dispela kantri i stap olsem long ai bilong Mi, BIKPELA i tok. Na olgeta wan wan wok bilong ol han bilong ol i stap olsem. Na dispela samting ol i ofaim em i doti. | Then answered Haggai, and said, So is this people, and so is this nation before me, saith the Lord; and so is every work of their hands; and that which they offer there is unclean. |

Taim wanpela i kam long masin bilong krungutim wel bilong pulim i kam ausait 50 sospen samting ausait long masin bilong krungutim, i gat 20 tasol i stap. | Since those days were, when one came to an heap of twenty measures, there were but ten: when one came to the pressfat for to draw out fifty vessels out of the press, there were but twenty. |
| 17 | Mi bin paitim yupela wantaim sik i kisim gaden na wantaim ras na wantaim ren ais insait long olgeta hatwok bilong ol han bilong yupela. Yet yupela i no tanim i kam long Mi, BIKPELA i tok. | I smote you with blasting and with mildew and with hail in all the labours of your hands; yet ye turned not to me, saith the Lord. |
| 18 | Tingim na skelim nau i stat long dispela de na i go antap, i stat long namba 24 de bilong namba nain mun, yes, i stat long de bilong ol i slipim ol as ston bilong tempel bilong BIKPELA, tingim na skelim dispela. | Consider now from this day and upward, from the four and twentieth day of the ninth month, even from the day that the foundation of the Lord’s temple was laid, consider it. |
| 19 | Ating pikinini kaikai i stap yet long bakstua? Yes, inap long nau diwai wain, na diwai fik, na pomigranet, na diwai oliv, i no bin bringim kaikai i kam ausait. I stat long dispela de bai Mi blesim yupela. | Is the seed yet in the barn? yea, as yet the vine, and the fig tree, and the pomegranate, and the olive tree, hath not brought forth: from this day will I bless you. |

| 22 | Na Mi bai tromoi i go daun sia king bilong ol kingdom, na Mi bai bagarapim strong bilong ol kingdom bilong ol haiden olgeta. Na Mi bai tromoi i go daun ol karis, na ol husat i ran antap long ol. Na ol hos na ol man bilong ol husat i ran antap long ol bai kam daun, olgeta wan wan long bainat bilong brata bilong em. | And I will overthrow the throne of kingdoms, and I will destroy the strength of the kingdoms of the heathen; and I will overthrow the chariots, and those that ride in them; and the horses and their riders shall come down, every one by the sword of his brother. |
