Nogut namba bilong ol i kamap planti taims moa yet, na em i kamap olsem, taim bikpela pait i kamap, ol tu i bung wantaim ol birua bilong yumi na pait birua long yumi, na long dispela ol i kirap long lusim dispela hap graun. | Come on, let us deal wisely with them; lest they multiply, and it come to pass, that, when there falleth out any war, they join also unto our enemies, and fight against us, and so get them up out of the land. |

And they built for Pharaoh treasure cities, Pithom and Raamses. |

Na ol Isip i bel hevi, na as bilong dispela em i ol pikinini bilong Isrel. | But the more they afflicted them, the more they multiplied and grew. And they were grieved because of the children of Israel. |

Olgeta wok bilong ol, ol Isip i bin mekim ol i wok long em, em long hatwok tasol. | And they made their lives bitter with hard bondage, in morter, and in brick, and in all manner of service in the field: all their service, wherein they made them serve, was with rigour. |

| 16 | Na em i tok, Taim yupela i mekim wok long helpim ol meri i karim pikinini long ol meri Hibru, na yupela i lukim ol i sindaun long ol liklik sia bilong karim pikinini, sapos em i stap pikinini man, orait yupela i mas kilim em i dai. Tasol sapos em i stap pikinini meri, orait em i ken i stap laip. | And he said, When ye do the office of a midwife to the Hebrew women, and see them upon the stools; if it be a son, then ye shall kill him: but if it be a daughter, then she shall live. |
| 17 | Tasol ol meri i helpim ol meri i karim pikinini ol i pret long God, na ol i no mekim olsem king bilong Isip i givim strongpela tok long ol long mekim. Tasol ol i larim ol pikinini man i stap laip. | But the midwives feared God, and did not as the king of Egypt commanded them, but saved the men children alive. |
| 18 | Na king bilong Isip i singautim ol meri i helpim ol meri i karim pikinini na em i tokim ol, Bilong wanem yupela i bin mekim dispela samting, na yupela i bin larim ol pikinini man i stap laip? | And the king of Egypt called for the midwives, and said unto them, Why have ye done this thing, and have saved the men children alive? |
| 19 | Na ol meri i helpim ol meri i karim pikinini i toktok long Fero, Bikos ol meri Hibru i no olsem ol meri Isip, long wanem ol i strong tru na ol i karim pastaim long ol meri bilong helpim ol meri i karim pikinini i kam long ol. | And the midwives said unto Pharaoh, Because the Hebrew women are not as the Egyptian women; for they are lively, and are delivered ere the midwives come in unto them. |
| 20 | Olsem na God i mekim gutpela pasin long ol meri i helpim ol meri i karim pikinini. Na ol dispela manmeri i kamap planti moa yet, na kamap strongpela tru. | Therefore God dealt well with the midwives: and the people multiplied, and waxed very mighty. |
| 21 | Na em i kamap olsem, bikos ol meri i helpim ol meri long karim pikinini i pret long God, orait Em i wokim ol haus bilong ol. | And it came to pass, because the midwives feared God, that he made them houses. |
| 22 | Na Fero i givim tok long olgeta manmeri bilong em, na spik, Olgeta pikinini man wan wan mama i karim, yupela i mas tromoi em i go insait long wara riva, na olgeta pikinini meri wan wan yupela mas larim em i stap laip. | And Pharaoh charged all his people, saying, Every son that is born ye shall cast into the river, and every daughter ye shall save alive. |
