|---|---|---|
¶ O pikinini meri bilong Babilon i no bin slip yet wantaim man, yu mas kam daun na sindaun long das, yes sindaun long graun. I no gat sia kwin i stap, O pikinini meri bilong ol Kaldia. Long wanem bai ol i no tokaut moa long yu no mekim hatwok na yu stap mani meri. | Come down, and sit in the dust, O virgin daughter of Babylon, sit on the ground: there is no throne, O daughter of the Chaldeans: for thou shalt no more be called tender and delicate.
Kisim bikpela ston bilong krungutim wit na wokim plaua. Rausim laplap i karamapim gras bilong yu, na rausim laplap long lek, na rausim inap long antap bilong lek, na go hapsait long ol wara riva. | Take the millstones, and grind meal: uncover thy locks, make bare the leg, uncover the thigh, pass over the rivers.
Bai yu stap skin nating, yes ol bai lukim sem bilong yu. Bai Mi bekim long yu na bai Mi no kam long yu olsem wanpela man. | Thy nakedness shall be uncovered, yea, thy shame shall be seen: I will take vengeance, and I will not meet thee as a man.
Bilong makim Man bilong baim bek mipela, nem bilong Em i BIKPELA bilong bikpela ami, na Em i dispela Wanpela i Holi bilong Isrel. | As for our redeemer, the Lord of hosts is his name, the Holy One of Israel.
Yu mas sindaun na pasim maus na go long ples tudak, O pikinini meri bilong ol Kaldia, long wanem bai ol i no tokaut long yu i hetmeri bilong ol kingdom. | Sit thou silent, and get thee into darkness, O daughter of the Chaldeans: for thou shalt no more be called, The lady of kingdoms.
Mi bin belhat long ol manmeri bilong Mi, Mi bin bagarapim ol samting papa i givim pikinini bilong Mi, na givim ol i go long han bilong yu. Yu no bin soim sori long ol. Antap long ol lapun tru yu bin putim yok bilong yu i hevi tru. | I was wroth with my people, I have polluted mine inheritance, and given them into thine hand: thou didst shew them no mercy; upon the ancient hast thou very heavily laid thy yoke.
¶ Na yu bin tok, Bai mi stap hetmeri inap long oltaim oltaim. Inap long yu no bin larim ol dispela samting i wok long bel bilong yu, na tu yu no bin holim tingting long las taim bilong dispela. | And thou saidst, I shall be a lady for ever: so that thou didst not lay these things to thy heart, neither didst remember the latter end of it.
Olsem na harim dispela nau, yu husat i laikim tumas ol amamas, yu husat i no lukautim gut sindaun bilong yu, yu husat i tok long bel bilong yu olsem, Mi stap, na i no gat narapela i stap olsem mi. Bai mi no sindaun olsem meri man bilong em i bin dai pinis, na tu bai mi no kisim save long pasin bilong lusim ol pikinini. | Therefore hear now this, thou that art given to pleasures, that dwellest carelessly, that sayest in thine heart, I am, and none else beside me; I shall not sit as a widow, neither shall I know the loss of children:
Tasol dispela tupela samting, em kamap meri man bilong em i bin dai pinis wantaim lusim ol pikinini, bai kam long yu wantu tasol long wanpela de. Ol bai kam long yu long pasin i inap tru bilong ol, bilong bekim planti tru sanguma pasin bilong yu na bilong bekim planti taim yu bin wokim poisin. | But these two things shall come to thee in a moment in one day, the loss of children, and widowhood: they shall come upon thee in their perfection for the multitude of thy sorceries, and for the great abundance of thine enchantments.
Long wanem yu bin putim bilip bilong yu long ol pasin nogut bilong yu. Yu bin tok, No gat wanpela i lukim mi. Save bilong yu na pasin bilong yusim save bilong yu em i bin paulim yu, na yu bin tok long bel bilong yu, Mi stap, na i no gat narapela i stap olsem Mi. | For thou hast trusted in thy wickedness: thou hast said, None seeth me. Thy wisdom and thy knowledge, it hath perverted thee; and thou hast said in thine heart, I am, and none else beside me.
Olsem na taim nogut bai kam long yu. Bai yu no save long dispela i kamap long we. Na bagarap bai pundaun antap long yu. Bai yu no inap lusim dispela, na bagarap yu no save long em bai kam long yu wantu. | Therefore shall evil come upon thee; thou shalt not know from whence it riseth: and mischief shall fall upon thee; thou shalt not be able to put it off: and desolation shall come upon thee suddenly, which thou shalt not know.
Sanap nau wantaim ol poisin pasin bilong yu na wantaim planti tru sanguma pasin bilong yu. Yu bin hatwok long dispela long taim yu bin stap yangpela inap long nau. Traim sapos dispela em inap long helpim yu, o sapos em inap long mekim yu win. | Stand now with thine enchantments, and with the multitude of thy sorceries, wherein thou hast laboured from thy youth; if so be thou shalt be able to profit, if so be thou mayest prevail.
Yu stap les long planti tru tok helpim bilong yu. Ol poisin man i bihainim ol sta, na ol husat i luksave long ol sta, na ol i tok save long ol wan wan mun, larim ol i sanap nau na kisim bek yu long ol dispela samting em bai kam long yu. | Thou art wearied in the multitude of thy counsels. Let now the astrologers, the stargazers, the monthly prognosticators, stand up, and save thee from these things that shall come upon thee.
Harim, ol bai stap olsem ol stik bilong wit. Paia bai kukim ol. Bai ol i no kisim bek ol yet long strong bilong dispela lait bilong paia. Bai ol i no gat hap diwai i kuk yet bilong hatim skin bilong ol, o paia long sindaun klostu long dispela. | Behold, they shall be as stubble; the fire shall burn them; they shall not deliver themselves from the power of the flame: there shall not be a coal to warm at, nor fire to sit before it.
Ol husat yu bin hatwok wantaim ol inap long taim yu bin stap yangpela, yes em ol bisnisman bilong yu, ol bai stap olsem long yu, olgeta wan wan bai go nabaut long ples bilong em. No gat wanpela bai kisim bek yu. | Thus shall they be unto thee with whom thou hast laboured, even thy merchants, from thy youth: they shall wander every one to his quarter; none shall save thee.
