¶ Na em i kamap olsem, taim king Hesekaia i harim dispela, em i brukim ol klos bilong em na em i putim ol klos bilong soim sori long em yet na em i go insait long haus bilong BIKPELA. And it came to pass, when king Hezekiah heard it, that he rent his clothes, and covered himself with sackcloth, and went into the house of the Lord.
Na em i salim Elaiakim, man bilong bosim hauslain bilong king, na Sepna, man bilong rait, na ol lapun hetman bilong ol pris, na ol i bin karamapim ol yet long klos bilong soim sori, na ol i go long pikinini man bilong Emos, em profet Aisea. And he sent Eliakim, who was over the household, and Shebna the scribe, and the elders of the priests covered with sackcloth, unto Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz.
Na ol i tokim em, Hesekaia i tok olsem, Dispela de em i de bilong trabel, na bilong hatim, na bilong tok bilas long God. Long wanem ol pikinini i kamap long taim mama i laik karim ol na ol mama i no gat strong inap long karim ol. And they said unto him, Thus saith Hezekiah, This day is a day of trouble, and of rebuke, and of blasphemy: for the children are come to the birth, and there is not strength to bring forth.
Ating BIKPELA na God bilong yu bai harim ol tok bilong Rap-seke, em man bosman bilong em king bilong Asiria i bin salim long tok long daunim God i gat laip, na God bai bekim bilong krosim ol tok BIKPELA em God bilong yu i bin harim. Olsem na litimapim beten bilong yu bilong helpim dispela liklik lain i stap yet. It may be the Lord thy God will hear the words of Rabshakeh, whom the king of Assyria his master hath sent to reproach the living God, and will reprove the words which the Lord thy God hath heard: wherefore lift up thy prayer for the remnant that is left.
Olsem ol wokboi bilong king Hesekaia i kam long Aisea. So the servants of king Hezekiah came to Isaiah.
Na Aisea i tokim ol, Bai yupela i mas tok olsem long bosman bilong yupela, BIKPELA i tok olsem, Yu no ken pret long ol toktok yu bin harim, ol wokboi bilong king bilong Asiria i bin tok bilas long Mi long dispela. And Isaiah said unto them, Thus shall ye say unto your master, Thus saith the Lord, Be not afraid of the words that thou hast heard, wherewith the servants of the king of Assyria have blasphemed me.
Harim, bai Mi salim wanpela strongpela win i go long em, na em bai harim wanpela tok win na go bek long hap graun bilong em yet. Na bai Mi mekim em i pundaun long bainat insait long hap graun bilong em yet. Behold, I will send a blast upon him, and he shall hear a rumour, and return to his own land; and I will cause him to fall by the sword in his own land.
¶ Olsem Rap-seke i go bek na lukim king bilong Asiria i mekim bikpela pait i birua long Lipna. Long wanem em i bin harim tok long king i bin lusim Lekis. So Rabshakeh returned, and found the king of Assyria warring against Libnah: for he had heard that he was departed from Lachish.
Na em i bin harim tok i tokaut long Tirhaka king bilong Itiopia olsem, Em i kam hia bilong kirapim bikpela pait wantaim yu. Na taim em i harim dispela, em i salim ol mausman long Hesekaia na em i tok, And he heard say concerning Tirhakah king of Ethiopia, He is come forth to make war with thee. And when he heard it, he sent messengers to Hezekiah, saying,
Yupela mas toktok long Hesekaia, king bilong Juda, na tok olsem, Dispela God yu bin putim bilip bilong yu long Em, yu no ken larim Em i giamanim yu, na tok, Bai Jerusalem i no go long han bilong king bilong Asiria. Thus shall ye speak to Hezekiah king of Judah, saying, Let not thy God, in whom thou trustest, deceive thee, saying, Jerusalem shall not be given into the hand of the king of Assyria.
Harim, yu bin harim wanem samting ol king bilong Asiria i bin mekim long olgeta arapela hap graun. Ol i bin bagarapim ol olgeta. Na ating God bai kisim bek yu, a? Behold, thou hast heard what the kings of Assyria have done to all lands by destroying them utterly; and shalt thou be delivered?
Ating ol god bilong ol kantri i bin kisim bek ol taim ol papa bilong mi i bin bagarapim ol, olsem Gosan, na Haran, na Resep, na ol pikinini bilong Iden i bin stap long Telasar, a? Have the gods of the nations delivered them which my fathers have destroyed, as Gozan, and Haran, and Rezeph, and the children of Eden which were in Telassar?
King bilong Hemat, na king bilong Arpat, na king bilong biktaun Sefarvaim, na Hena, na Iva, ol i stap we? Where is the king of Hamath, and the king of Arphad, and the king of the city of Sepharvaim, Hena, and Ivah?
Na Hesekaia i bin kisim dispela pas long han bilong ol mausman na em i ritim dispela. Na Hesekaia i go antap na i go long haus bilong BIKPELA. Na em i putim dispela long pes bilong BIKPELA. And Hezekiah received the letter from the hand of the messengers, and read it: and Hezekiah went up unto the house of the Lord, and spread it before the Lord.
Na Hesekaia i beten long BIKPELA, na tok, And Hezekiah prayed unto the Lord, saying,
O BIKPELA bilong bikpela ami, Yu God bilong Isrel, na Yu stap namel long ol ensel serup, yes Yu wanpela i stap God bilong olgeta kingdom bilong dispela graun, na Yu bin wokim heven na dispela graun. O Lord of hosts, God of Israel, that dwellest between the cherubims, thou art the God, even thou alone, of all the kingdoms of the earth: thou hast made heaven and earth.
O BIKPELA, putim ia bilong Yu klostu na harim. O BIKPELA, opim ol ai bilong Yu na lukluk. Na Yu mas harim olgeta toktok bilong Senakerip em i bin salim long daunim God i gat laip. Incline thine ear, O Lord, and hear; open thine eyes, O Lord, and see: and hear all the words of Sennacherib, which hath sent to reproach the living God.
Tru tumas, BIKPELA, ol king bilong Asiria i bin bagarapim olgeta kantri na ol graun bilong ol. Of a truth, Lord, the kings of Assyria have laid waste all the nations, and their countries,
Na ol i bin tromoi ol god bilong ol i go long paia. Long wanem ol i no bin i stap ol god tru tru, tasol ol i wok bilong ol han bilong ol man. Ol i diwai na ston tasol. Olsem na ol i bin bagarapim ol. And have cast their gods into the fire: for they were no gods, but the work of men’s hands, wood and stone: therefore they have destroyed them.
Olsem na, O BIKPELA na God bilong mipela, kisim bek mipela nau long han bilong em, bai olgeta kingdom bilong dispela graun i ken save long Yu stap BIKPELA, yes Yu tasol. Now therefore, O Lord our God, save us from his hand, that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that thou art the Lord, even thou only.
¶ Long dispela taim Aisea pikinini man bilong Emos i salim tok long Hesekaia na tok, BIKPELA na God bilong Isrel i tok olsem, Yu bin beten long Mi long birua long Senakerip, king bilong Asiria. Then Isaiah the son of Amoz sent unto Hezekiah, saying, Thus saith the Lord God of Israel, Whereas thou hast prayed to me against Sennacherib king of Assyria:
Dispela em i tok BIKPELA i bin mekim bilong tok save long em, Dispela meri i no bin slip wantaim man, em pikinini meri bilong Saion, em i bin tingim yu i samting nating na em i lap bilong daunim yu. Dispela pikinini meri bilong Jerusalem i bin mekim het bilong em i seksek long yu. This is the word which the Lord hath spoken concerning him; The virgin, the daughter of Zion, hath despised thee, and laughed thee to scorn; the daughter of Jerusalem hath shaken her head at thee.
Yu bin daunim nem na tok bilas long husat? Na yu bin litimapim nek bilong yu na litimapim ol ai bilong yu i go antap bilong birua long husat? Yes, y u bin mekim bilong birua long dispela Wanpela i Holi bilong Isrel. Whom hast thou reproached and blasphemed? and against whom hast thou exalted thy voice, and lifted up thine eyes on high? even against the Holy One of Israel.
Yu bin daunim nem bilong Bikpela long toktok bilong ol wokboi bilong yu. Na yu bin tok olsem, Mi bin kamap long ples i antap tru bilong ol maunten long ol arere bilong Lebanon long strong bilong planti tru karis bilong pait bilong mi. Na bai mi katim bilong daunim ol diwai sida i antap tumas bilong dispela hap wantaim ol naispela diwai fir bilong dispela hap. Na bai mi go insait long ples i antap bilong arere bilong em na long bikbus bilong hap Karmel bilong em. By thy servants hast thou reproached the Lord, and hast said, By the multitude of my chariots am I come up to the height of the mountains, to the sides of Lebanon; and I will cut down the tall cedars thereof, and the choice fir trees thereof: and I will enter into the height of his border, and the forest of his Carmel.
Mi bin brukim graun na dringim wara. Na mi bin mekim olgeta wara riva bilong ol hap ami bilong mi i pasim biktaun i kamap drai long aninit bilong ol fut bilong mi. I have digged, and drunk water; and with the sole of my feet have I dried up all the rivers of the besieged places.
Ating yu no bin harim longpela taim pastaim Mi bin mekim dispela, na long bipo tru Mi bin wokim dispela olsem wanem? Nau Mi bin kirapim dispela bai yu ken bagarapim ol biktaun i gat bikpela banis na mekim ol i kamap hap bilong hipim ol rabis. Hast thou not heard long ago, how I have done it; and of ancient times, that I have formed it? now have I brought it to pass, that thou shouldest be to lay waste defenced cities into ruinous heaps.
Olsem na ol manmeri i stap long ol, ol i gat liklik strong. Ol i bin stap bel hevi na pilim sem. Ol i bin stap olsem gras bilong hap i no gat diwai, na olsem grinpela sayor, na olsem gras i stap antap long ol haus, na olsem wit samting san i bagarapim pastaim long em i kamap bikpela. Therefore their inhabitants were of small power, they were dismayed and confounded: they were as the grass of the field, and as the green herb, as the grass on the housetops, and as corn blasted before it be grown up.
Tasol Mi save long ples yu stap long em, na taim yu go ausait na taim yu kam insait na bikpela belhat bilong yu i birua long Mi. But I know thy abode, and thy going out, and thy coming in, and thy rage against me.
Bikos bikpela belhat bilong yu em i birua long Mi na bikpela nois bilong yu em i kamap long ol ia bilong Mi. Olsem na bai Mi putim huk bilong Mi long nus bilong yu, na dispela samting bilong Mi long stiaim hos long maus bilong yu. Na bai Mi tanim yu i go bek long rot you bin i kam long em. Because thy rage against me, and thy tumult, is come up into mine ears, therefore will I put my hook in thy nose, and my bridle in thy lips, and I will turn thee back by the way by which thou camest.
Na dispela bai stap wanpela mak long yu, Dispela yia bai yupela i kaikai ol samting i kamap bikpela long strong bilong em yet. Na long namba tu yia bai yupela i kaikai dispela samting i kamap long ol dispela. Na long namba tri yia yupela i mas tromoi pikinini kaikai long graun, na kisim dispela taim em i mau, na planim ol diwai wain na kaikai ol kaikai bilong dispela. And this shall be a sign unto thee, Ye shall eat this year such as groweth of itself; and the second year that which springeth of the same: and in the third year sow ye, and reap, and plant vineyards, and eat the fruit thereof.
Na ol i stap yet bilong ol i bin ranawe bilong lain bilong Juda, ol bai putim ol rop gen i go daun, na karim kaikai long antap olsem diwai. And the remnant that is escaped of the house of Judah shall again take root downward, and bear fruit upward:
Long wanem liklik lain i stap yet bai go ausait long Jerusalem, na ol husat i bin ranawe bai go long lusim maunten Saion. Strongpela laik bilong BIKPELA bilong bikpela ami bai mekim dispela. For out of Jerusalem shall go forth a remnant, and they that escape out of mount Zion: the zeal of the Lord of hosts shall do this.
Olsem na BIKPELA i tok long Hesekaia long king bilong Asiria olsem, Bai em i no kam insait long dispela biktaun, o sutim wanpela spia long em, o kam long pes bilong em wantaim ol hap plang, o tromoi planti graun klostu long banis bilong em. Therefore thus saith the Lord concerning the king of Assyria, He shall not come into this city, nor shoot an arrow there, nor come before it with shields, nor cast a bank against it.
BIKPELA i tok, Long rot em i bin kam long em, long dispela rot bai em i go bek, na bai em i no kam insait long dispela biktaun. By the way that he came, by the same shall he return, and shall not come into this city, saith the Lord.
Long wanem bai Mi lukautim dispela biktaun bilong kisim bek em bilong bihainim laik bilong Mi na bilong bihainim laik bilong wokboi bilong Mi Devit. For I will defend this city to save it for mine own sake, and for my servant David’s sake.
Long dispela taim ensel bilong BIKPELA i go long ples bung bilong ami bilong Asiria na em i paitim 185 tausen soldia. Na taim ol arapela i kirap long moningtaim tru, harim, olgeta bilong ol i stap ol daiman. Then the angel of the Lord went forth, and smote in the camp of the Assyrians a hundred and fourscore and five thousand: and when they arose early in the morning, behold, they were all dead corpses.
Olsem Senakerip king bilong Asiria i bin lusim dispela hap na i go bek na em i stap long Niniva. So Sennacherib king of Assyria departed, and went and returned, and dwelt at Nineveh.
Na em i bin kamap olsem, taim em i lotu long haus bilong Nisrok, em god bilong em, Adramelek na Sareser, tupela pikinini man bilong em, i paitim em long bainat. Na tupela i ranawe long hap graun bilong Arminia. Na Esar-hadon, pikinini man bilong em, i bin kisim namba bilong em na bosim kingdom. And it came to pass, as he was worshipping in the house of Nisroch his god, that Adrammelech and Sharezer his sons smote him with the sword; and they escaped into the land of Armenia: and Esar–haddon his son reigned in his stead.
