| 2 | BIKPELA, God bilong Isrel, i tok olsem long yu, O Baruk. | Thus saith the Lord, the God of Israel, unto thee, O Baruch; |
| 3 | Yu bin tok, Tok lukaut i stap long mi nau! Long wanem, BIKPELA i bin skruim bel sori antap long bel hevi bilong mi. Mi hap i dai long lusim win bilong soim wari bilong mi, na mi no painim malolo. | Thou didst say, Woe is me now! for the Lord hath added grief to my sorrow; I fainted in my sighing, and I find no rest. |
| 4 | Yu bai tokim em olsem, BIKPELA i tok olsem, Lukim, dispela samting Mi bin wokim bai Mi brukim i go daun, na dispela samting Mi bin planim bai Mi kamautim i kam antap, yes, dispela hap olgeta. | Thus shalt thou say unto him, The Lord saith thus; Behold, that which I have built will I break down, and that which I have planted I will pluck up, even this whole land. |
| 5 | Na ating yu painim ol bikpela samting bilong yu yet? No ken painim ol. Long wanem, lukim, Mi bai bringim samting nogut antap long olgeta samting i gat bodi, BIKPELA i tok. Tasol laip bilong yu bai Mi givim long yu olsem prais bilong pait long olgeta ples we yu go. | And seekest thou great things for thyself? seek them not: for, behold, I will bring evil upon all flesh, saith the Lord: but thy life will I give unto thee for a prey in all places whither thou goest. |
