| 2 | Go long hauslain bilong ol lain Rekap, na toktok long ol, na bringim ol i go insait long haus bilong BIKPELA, i go insait long wanpela bilong ol rum, na givim ol wain long dringim. | Go unto the house of the Rechabites, and speak unto them, and bring them into the house of the Lord, into one of the chambers, and give them wine to drink. |
| 3 | Nau mi kisim Jasanaia pikinini man bilong Jeremaia, pikinini man bilong Habasinaia, na ol brata bilong em, na olgeta pikinini man bilong em, na hauslain olgeta bilong ol lain Rekap. | Then I took Jaazaniah the son of Jeremiah, the son of Habaziniah, and his brethren, and all his sons, and the whole house of the Rechabites; |
| 4 | Na mi bringim ol insait long haus bilong BIKPELA, i go insait long rum bilong ol pikinini man bilong Hanan, pikinini man bilong Ikdalaia, wanpela man bilong God, dispela i klostu long rum bilong ol hetman, dispela i antap long rum bilong Measeaia, pikinini man bilong Salum, wasman bilong dua. | And I brought them into the house of the Lord, into the chamber of the sons of Hanan, the son of Igdaliah, a man of God, which was by the chamber of the princes, which was above the chamber of Maaseiah the son of Shallum, the keeper of the door: |
| 5 | Na mi putim long ai bilong ol pikinini man bilong hauslain bilong ol lain Rekap ol sospen i pulap wantaim wain, na ol kap, na mi tokim ol, Yupela dringim wain. | And I set before the sons of the house of the Rechabites pots full of wine, and cups, and I said unto them, Drink ye wine. |

Long wanem, Jonadap, pikinini man bilong tumbuna papa bilong mipela Rekap, i tok strong long mipela, i spik, Yupela no ken dringim wain, yupela, o ol pikinini man bilong yupela oltaim oltaim. | But they said, We will drink no wine: for Jonadab the son of Rechab our father commanded us, saying, Ye shall drink no wine, neither ye, nor your sons for ever: |

Tasol olgeta de bilong yupela yupela mas stap long ol haus sel, inap long yupela ken stap laip planti de long dispela hap we yupela stap ol ausait man. | Neither shall ye build house, nor sow seed, nor plant vineyard, nor have any: but all your days ye shall dwell in tents; that ye may live many days in the land where ye be strangers. |

| 9 | O bilong wokim ol haus bilong mipela long stap long en. Na tu mipela i no gat gaden wain, o bikpela gaden, o pikinini kaikai. | Nor to build houses for us to dwell in: neither have we vineyard, nor field, nor seed: |
| 10 | Tasol mipela i bin stap long ol haus sel, na mipela i bin bihainim tok, na mekim bilong bihainim olgeta samting papa bilong mipela Jonadap i tok strong long mipela. | But we have dwelt in tents, and have obeyed, and done according to all that Jonadab our father commanded us. |
| 11 | Tasol em i kamap olsem, taim Nebukadresar, king bilong Babilon, i kam antap insait long dispela hap, long mipela i tok, Kam, na larim yumi go long Jerusalem, long wanem, yumi pret long ami bilong ol lain Kaldia, na long wanem, yumi pret long ol ami bilong ol lain Siria. Olsem na mipela i stap long Jerusalem. | But it came to pass, when Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon came up into the land, that we said, Come, and let us go to Jerusalem for fear of the army of the Chaldeans, and for fear of the army of the Syrians: so we dwell at Jerusalem. |

| 13 | BIKPELA bilong ol ami, God bilong Isrel, i tok olsem, Go na tokim ol man bilong Juda na ol man i stap long Jerusalem, Ating i yes long yupela bai kisim skul bilong harim ol toktok bilong Mi, BIKPELA i tok? | Thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel; Go and tell the men of Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, Will ye not receive instruction to hearken to my words? saith the Lord. |

Long wanem, inap long tude ol i no dringim liklik, tasol ol i bihainim tok strong bilong papa bilong ol. Tasol Mi bin toktok long yupela, taim Mi kirap long moning tru na toktok, tasol yupela i no harim long Mi. | The words of Jonadab the son of Rechab, that he commanded his sons not to drink wine, are performed; for unto this day they drink none, but obey their father’s commandment: notwithstanding I have spoken unto you, rising early and speaking; but ye hearkened not unto me. |

Tasol yupela i no bin lindaunim ia bilong yupela, o harim long Mi. | I have sent also unto you all my servants the prophets, rising up early and sending them, saying, Return ye now every man from his evil way, and amend your doings, and go not after other gods to serve them, and ye shall dwell in the land which I have given to you and to your fathers: but ye have not inclined your ear, nor hearkened unto me. |

Bilong wanem, Mi bin toktok long ol, tasol ol i no bin harim. Na Mi bin singaut long ol, tasol ol i no bin bekim tok. | Therefore thus saith the Lord God of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will bring upon Judah and upon all the inhabitants of Jerusalem all the evil that I have pronounced against them: because I have spoken unto them, but they have not heard; and I have called unto them, but they have not answered. |
