| 1 | ¶ BIKPELA i tok olsem long mi, Go na kisim wanpela bikpela let bilong naispela laplap, na pasim dispela long ol namel bilong bel bilong yu, na yu no ken putim dispela long wara. | Thus saith the Lord unto me, Go and get thee a linen girdle, and put it upon thy loins, and put it not in water. |
| 2 | Olsem na mi kisim wanpela bikpela let bilong bihainim tok bilong BIKPELA, na pasim long ol namel bilong bel bilong mi. | So I got a girdle according to the word of the Lord, and put it on my loins. |
| 3 | Na tok bilong BIKPELA i kam long mi namba tu taim, i spik, | And the word of the Lord came unto me the second time, saying, |
| 4 | Kisim dispela bikpela let yu bin kisim, dispela i stap long ol namel bilong bel bilong yu, na kirap, go long Yufretis, na haitim dispela long hap insait long hul bilong ston. | Take the girdle that thou hast got, which is upon thy loins, and arise, go to Euphrates, and hide it there in a hole of the rock. |

| 6 | Na em i kamap olsem bihain long planti de, long BIKPELA i tokim mi, Kirap, go long Yufretis, na kisim bikpela let long dispela ples, dispela Mi tok strong long yu long haitim long dispela hap. | And it came to pass after many days, that the Lord said unto me, Arise, go to Euphrates, and take the girdle from thence, which I commanded thee to hide there. |

Na, lukim, bikpela let i bagarap, em i no gutpela long wanpela samting. | Then I went to Euphrates, and digged, and took the girdle from the place where I had hid it: and, behold, the girdle was marred, it was profitable for nothing. |

| 9 | BIKPELA i tok olsem, Long bihainim dispela pasin bai Mi bagarapim hambak pasin bilong Juda, na bikpela hambak pasin bilong Jerusalem. | Thus saith the Lord, After this manner will I mar the pride of Judah, and the great pride of Jerusalem. |
| 10 | Dispela lain nogut, husat i tok nogat long harim ol toktok bilong Mi, husat i wokabaut long tingting nating bilong bel bilong ol, na wokabaut i bihainim ol arapela god, long stap aninit long ol, na long lotuim ol, yes, bai stap olsem dispela bikpela let, dispela em i no gutpela long wanpela samting. | This evil people, which refuse to hear my words, which walk in the imagination of their heart, and walk after other gods, to serve them, and to worship them, shall even be as this girdle, which is good for nothing. |

Tasol ol i tok nogat long harim. | For as the girdle cleaveth to the loins of a man, so have I caused to cleave unto me the whole house of Israel and the whole house of Judah, saith the Lord; that they might be unto me for a people, and for a name, and for a praise, and for a glory: but they would not hear. |

| 13 | Nau bai yu tokim ol, BIKPELA i tok olsem, Lukim, Mi bai pulimapim olgeta man i stap long dispela hap, yes, ol king husat i sindaun antap long sia king bilong Devit, na ol pris, na ol profet, na olgeta man i stap long Jerusalem, wantaim spak pasin. | Then shalt thou say unto them, Thus saith the Lord, Behold, I will fill all the inhabitants of this land, even the kings that sit upon David’s throne, and the priests, and the prophets, and all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, with drunkenness. |

| 16 | Givim glori long BIKPELA, God bilong yupela, bipo Em i mekim tudak i kamap, na bipo ol fut bilong yupela i sutim lek antap long ol maunten i tudak, na, taim yupela painim lait, Em i tanim dispela i kamap tewel bilong dai, na mekim dispela strongpela tudak. | Give glory to the Lord your God, before he cause darkness, and before your feet stumble upon the dark mountains, and, while ye look for light, he turn it into the shadow of death, and make it gross darkness. |
| 17 | Tasol sapos yupela i no laik harim dispela, tewel bilong Mi bai krai tru long ol ples hait long tingim hambak pasin bilong yupela. Na ai bilong Mi bai krai strong tru, na ran i go daun wantaim aiwara, bilong wanem, ol i karim lain sipsip bilong BIKPELA i go kalabus. | But if ye will not hear it, my soul shall weep in secret places for your pride; and mine eye shall weep sore, and run down with tears, because the Lord’s flock is carried away captive. |

Long wanem, ol hetman bilong gavman bilong yupela bai kam daun, yes, hat king bilong glori bilong yupela. | Say unto the king and to the queen, Humble yourselves, sit down: for your principalities shall come down, even the crown of your glory. |

| 20 | Apim ol ai bilong yu, na lukim ol husat i kam long hap not. Lain sipsip Mi givim long yu, lain sipsip bilong yu i naispela tru, i stap we? | Lift up your eyes, and behold them that come from the north: where is the flock that was given thee, thy beautiful flock? |
| 21 | Yu bai tok wanem taim Em bai wokim mekim save long yu? Long wanem, yu bin skulim ol long stap ol kepten, na stap olsem nambawan hetman long bosim yu. Ating i yes long ol bel hevi bai kisim yu, olsem wanpela meri i hatwok long karim pikinini? | What wilt thou say when he shall punish thee? for thou hast taught them to be captains, and as chief over thee: shall not sorrows take thee, as a woman in travail? |
| 22 | ¶ Na sapos yu toktok insait long bel bilong yu, Olsem wanem na ol dispela samting i kamap long mi? Long bikpela sin nogut bilong yu Mi mekim ol arere bilong ol klos bilong yu i kamap ples klia, na Mi mekim ol baksait bilong fut bilong yupela i kamap as nating. | And if thou say in thine heart, Wherefore come these things upon me? For the greatness of thine iniquity are thy skirts discovered, and thy heels made bare. |
| 23 | Ating man Itiopia em inap long senisim skin bilong em, o lepat ol mak bilong em? Orait yupela tu i ken mekim gutpela pasin, husat em i kastam bilong yupela long wokim pasin nogut. | Can the Ethiopian change his skin, or the leopard his spots? then may ye also do good, that are accustomed to do evil. |
| 24 | Olsem na bai Mi brukim ol nabaut olsem dispela pipia i go olgeta long wok bilong win bilong ples i no gat man. | Therefore will I scatter them as the stubble that passeth away by the wind of the wilderness. |

Bilong wanem, yu bin lusim tingting long Mi, na putim bilip long giaman samting. | This is thy lot, the portion of thy measures from me, saith the Lord; because thou hast forgotten me, and trusted in falsehood. |
| 26 | Olsem na bai Mi kamapim ples klia ol laplap bilong yu antap long pes bilong yu, inap long sem bilong yu i ken kamap ples klia. | Therefore will I discover thy skirts upon thy face, that thy shame may appear. |

Wanem taim bai dispela i kamap wanpela taim? | I have seen thine adulteries, and thy neighings, the lewdness of thy whoredom, and thine abominations on the hills in the fields. Woe unto thee, O Jerusalem! wilt thou not be made clean? when shall it once be? |
