¶ Nau Ilaisa i tok, Yupela i harim tok bilong BIKPELA. BIKPELA i tok olsem, Tumora, klostu olsem dispela taim, ol bai salim wanpela hap skel naispela plaua long wanpela sekel, na tupela hap skel bali long wanpela sekel, long dua bilong banis bilong Samaria. | Then Elisha said, Hear ye the word of the Lord; Thus saith the Lord, To morrow about this time shall a measure of fine flour be sold for a shekel, and two measures of barley for a shekel, in the gate of Samaria.
Nau wanpela bikman, husat king i lindaun long han bilong em, i bekim dispela man bilong God, na tok, Lukim, sapos BIKPELA i gat laik long wokim ol windo long heven, ating dispela samting i ken stap? Na em i tok, Lukim, yu bai lukim dispela wantaim tupela ai bilong yu, tasol yu no inap long kaikai long en. | Then a lord on whose hand the king leaned answered the man of God, and said, Behold, if the Lord would make windows in heaven, might this thing be? And he said, Behold, thou shalt see it with thine eyes, but shalt not eat thereof.
¶ Na i gat fopela man i gat sik lepra long ai bilong dua bilong banis. Na ol i tok wanpela i go long narapela, Bilong wanem yumi sindaun hia inap long yumi dai? | And there were four leprous men at the entering in of the gate: and they said one to another, Why sit we here until we die?
Sapos yumi tok, Yumi bai go insait long biktaun, orait dispela bikpela taim hangre i stap insait long biktaun, na yumi bai dai long dispela hap. Na sapos yumi sindaun nating hia, yumi bai dai tu. Olsem na nau kam, na larim yumi pundaun i go long ami bilong Siria. Sapos ol i kisim bek yumi i stap laip, yumi bai stap laip. Na sapos ol i kilim yumi, yumi bai dai tasol. | If we say, We will enter into the city, then the famine is in the city, and we shall die there: and if we sit still here, we die also. Now therefore come, and let us fall unto the host of the Syrians: if they save us alive, we shall live; and if they kill us, we shall but die.
Na ol i kirap long taim san i laik go daun, long go long kem bilong ol lain Siria. Na taim ol i kam long las hap arere bilong kem bilong ol lain Siria, lukim, i no gat wanpela man long dispela hap. | And they rose up in the twilight, to go unto the camp of the Syrians: and when they were come to the uttermost part of the camp of Syria, behold, there was no man there.
Long wanem, Bikpela i bin mekim dispela ami bilong ol lain Siria long harim wanpela nois bilong ol karis, na wanpela nois bilong ol hos, yes, nois bilong wanpela bikpela ami. Na ol i tok wanpela i go long narapela, Harim, king bilong Isrel i bin baim ol king bilong lain Hit, na ol king bilong lain Isip long birua long yumi, long kam antap long yumi. | For the Lord had made the host of the Syrians to hear a noise of chariots, and a noise of horses, even the noise of a great host: and they said one to another, Lo, the king of Israel hath hired against us the kings of the Hittites, and the kings of the Egyptians, to come upon us.
Olsem na ol i kirap na ranawe long taim san i laik go daun, na lusim ol haus sel bilong ol, na ol hos bilong ol, na ol donki bilong ol, yes, dispela kem olsem em i stap, na ol i ranawe long lukautim laip bilong ol. | Wherefore they arose and fled in the twilight, and left their tents, and their horses, and their asses, even the camp as it was, and fled for their life.
Na taim ol dispela lepraman i kam long las hap arere bilong kem, ol i go insait long wanpela haus sel, na ol i bin kaikai na dring, na karim long dispela ples silva, na gol, na klos, na go haitim dispela. Na ol i kam bek gen, na go insait long narapela haus sel, na karim long dispela ples tu, na go na haitim dispela. | And when these lepers came to the uttermost part of the camp, they went into one tent, and did eat and drink, and carried thence silver, and gold, and raiment, and went and hid it; and came again, and entered into another tent, and carried thence also, and went and hid it.
Nau ol i tok wanpela i go long narapela, Yumi no mekim gutpela samting. Tude em i wanpela de bilong ol gutpela nius, na yumi pasim maus bilong yumi. Sapos yumi stap yet inap long lait bilong moning, sampela trabel bai kam antap long yumi. Olsem na nau kam, inap long yumi ken go na tokim hauslain bilong king. | Then they said one to another, We do not well: this day is a day of good tidings, and we hold our peace: if we tarry till the morning light, some mischief will come upon us: now therefore come, that we may go and tell the king’s household.
Olsem na ol i kam na singaut i go long wasman bilong dua bilong biktaun. Na ol i tokim ol, i spik, Mipela i kam long kem bilong ol lain Siria, na, lukim, i no gat wanpela man i stap long dispela hap, o nek bilong man tu, tasol ol hos i pas wantaim rop, na ol donki i pas wantaim rop, na ol haus sel olsem ol i stap. | So they came and called unto the porter of the city: and they told them, saying, We came to the camp of the Syrians, and, behold, there was no man there, neither voice of man, but horses tied, and asses tied, and the tents as they were.
Na em i singautim ol wasman bilong dua, na ol i tokaut long dispela long haus bilong king insait. | And he called the porters; and they told it to the king’s house within.
¶ Na king i kirap long nait, na tokim ol wokboi bilong em, Nau mi bai soim yupela wanem samting ol lain Siria i bin mekim long yumi. Ol i save long yumi stap hangre. Olsem na ol i go ausait long kem long haitim ol yet long ples kunai, i spik, Taim ol i kam ausait long biktaun, yumi bai holimpas ol i stap laip, na go insait long biktaun. | And the king arose in the night, and said unto his servants, I will now shew you what the Syrians have done to us. They know that we be hungry; therefore are they gone out of the camp to hide themselves in the field, saying, When they come out of the city, we shall catch them alive, and get into the city.
Na wanpela bilong ol wokboi bilong em i bekim na tok, Larim sampela kisim, mi askim yu plis, faipela long ol hos, dispela i stap yet long biktaun, (lukim, ol i stap olsem olgeta planti manmeri tru bilong Isrel husat i stap yet insait long en, lukim, mi tok, yes, ol i olsem olgeta planti manmeri tru bilong Isrel long hangre i kaikai ol olgeta,) na larim yumi salim ol man na luksave. | And one of his servants answered and said, Let some take, I pray thee, five of the horses that remain, which are left in the city, (behold, they are as all the multitude of Israel that are left in it: behold, I say, they are even as all the multitude of the Israelites that are consumed:) and let us send and see.
Olsem na ol i kisim tupela hos bilong karis. Na king i salim ol man long bihainim ami bilong ol lain Siria, i spik, Go na luksave. | They took therefore two chariot horses; and the king sent after the host of the Syrians, saying, Go and see.
Na ol i go bihainim ol inap long Jordan. Na, harim, olgeta hap long rot em i pulap wantaim ol klos na ol sospen samting, dispela ol lain Siria i bin tromoi i go taim ol i hariap. Na ol mausman i kam bek, na tokim king. | And they went after them unto Jordan: and, lo, all the way was full of garments and vessels, which the Syrians had cast away in their haste. And the messengers returned, and told the king.
Na ol manmeri i go ausait, na kisim ol kago bilong pait long ol haus sel bilong ol lain Siria. Olsem na ol i salim wanpela hap skel naispela plaua long wanpela sekel, na tupela hap skel bali long wanpela sekel, bilong bihainim tok bilong BIKPELA. | And the people went out, and spoiled the tents of the Syrians. So a measure of fine flour was sold for a shekel, and two measures of barley for a shekel, according to the word of the Lord.
Na king i makim dispela bikman husat em i lindaun long han bilong em long bosim dua bilong banis. Na ol manmeri i krungutim em long dua bilong banis, na em i dai pinis, olsem dispela man bilong God i bin tok, husat i toktok taim king i kam daun long em. | And the king appointed the lord on whose hand he leaned to have the charge of the gate: and the people trode upon him in the gate, and he died, as the man of God had said, who spake when the king came down to him.
Na em i kamap olsem taim dispela man bilong God i toktok long king, i spik, Tupela hap skel bali long wanpela sekel, na wanpela hap skel naispela plaua long wanpela sekel, bai stap tumora klostu olsem dispela taim long dua bilong banis bilong Samaria. | And it came to pass as the man of God had spoken to the king, saying, Two measures of barley for a shekel, and a measure of fine flour for a shekel, shall be to morrow about this time in the gate of Samaria:
Na dispela bikman i bekim man bilong God, na tok, Nau, lukim, sapos BIKPELA i ken wokim ol windo long heven, ating wanpela kain samting olsem i ken stap? Na em i tok, Lukim, yu bai lukim dispela wantaim tupela ai bilong yu, tasol yu no inap long kaikai long en. | And that lord answered the man of God, and said, Now, behold, if the Lord should make windows in heaven, might such a thing be? And he said, Behold, thou shalt see it with thine eyes, but shalt not eat thereof.
Na olsem tasol em i kamap long em. Long wanem, ol manmeri i krungutim em long dua bilong banis, na em i dai pinis. | And so it fell out unto him: for the people trode upon him in the gate, and he died.
