| 9 | Na Adonaisa i kilim i dai ol sipsip na ol bulmakau man na ol patpela bulmakau samting klostu long ston bilong Sohelet, dispela i stap klostu long En-rogel, na singautim olgeta brata bilong em, ol pikinini man bilong king, na olgeta man bilong Juda, ol wokboi bilong king. | And Adonijah slew sheep and oxen and fat cattle by the stone of Zoheleth, which is by En–rogel, and called all his brethren the king’s sons, and all the men of Judah the king’s servants: |
| 10 | Tasol profet Netan, na Benea, na ol strongpela man, na Solomon, brata bilong em, em i no singautim. | But Nathan the prophet, and Benaiah, and the mighty men, and Solomon his brother, he called not. |
| 11 | ¶ Olsem na Netan i tokim Bat-siba, mama bilong Solomon, i spik, Ating i yes long yu harim long Adonaisa, pikinini man bilong Hagit, i bosim kingdom, na Devit, bikman bilong yumi, i no save long dispela? | Wherefore Nathan spake unto Bath–sheba the mother of Solomon, saying, Hast thou not heard that Adonijah the son of Haggith doth reign, and David our lord knoweth it not? |

Bilong wanem nau Adonaisa i bosim kingdom? | Go and get thee in unto king David, and say unto him, Didst not thou, my lord, O king, swear unto thine handmaid, saying, Assuredly Solomon thy son shall reign after me, and he shall sit upon my throne? why then doth Adonijah reign? |
| 14 | Lukim, taim yu toktok yet long dispela hap wantaim king, mi tu bai kam insait bihain long yu, na strongim ol toktok bilong yu. | Behold, while thou yet talkest there with the king, I also will come in after thee, and confirm thy words. |
| 15 | Na Bat-siba i go long king insait long rum. Na king i lapun tru. Na meri Sunem Abisak i wokim wok long king. | And Bath–sheba went in unto the king into the chamber: and the king was very old; and Abishag the Shunammite ministered unto the king. |
| 16 | Na Bat-siba i lindaun, na wokim pasin bilong lindaun long king. Na king i tok, Yu gat laik long wanem samting? | And Bath–sheba bowed, and did obeisance unto the king. And the king said, What wouldest thou? |
| 17 | Na em i tokim em, Bikman bilong mi, yu wokim strongpela promis pinis long nem bilong BIKPELA, God bilong yu, i kam long wokmeri bilong yu, i spik, Tru tumas Solomon, pikinini man bilong yu, bai bosim kingdom bihain long mi, na em bai sindaun antap long sia king bilong mi. | And she said unto him, My lord, thou swarest by the Lord thy God unto thine handmaid, saying, Assuredly Solomon thy son shall reign after me, and he shall sit upon my throne. |
| 18 | Na nau, lukim, Adonaisa i bosim kingdom. Na nau, king, bikman bilong mi, yu no save long dispela. | And now, behold, Adonijah reigneth; and now, my lord the king, thou knowest it not: |
| 19 | Na em i bin kilim i dai ol bulmakau man na ol patpela bulmakau samting na sipsip i planti moa yet, na em i bin singautim olgeta pikinini man bilong king, na pris Abaiatar, na kepten bilong ami Joap. Tasol Solomon, wokboi bilong yu, em i no bin singautim. | And he hath slain oxen and fat cattle and sheep in abundance, and hath called all the sons of the king, and Abiathar the priest, and Joab the captain of the host: but Solomon thy servant hath he not called. |
| 20 | Na yu, bikman bilong mi, O king, ol ai bilong olgeta Isrel i stap antap long yu, inap long yu ken tokim ol long husat bai sindaun long sia king bilong king, bikman bilong mi, bihain long em. | And thou, my lord, O king, the eyes of all Israel are upon thee, that thou shouldest tell them who shall sit on the throne of my lord the king after him. |
| 21 | Sapos nogat, em bai kamap olsem, taim king, bikman bilong mi, bai slip wantaim ol tumbuna papa bilong em, long mi, na pikinini man bilong mi Solomon, bai ol i kaunim olsem ol man bilong bagarapim bel. | Otherwise it shall come to pass, when my lord the king shall sleep with his fathers, that I and my son Solomon shall be counted offenders. |
| 22 | Na, harim, taim meri i toktok yet wantaim king, profet Netan tu i kam insait. | And, lo, while she yet talked with the king, Nathan the prophet also came in. |
| 23 | Na ol i tokim king, i spik, Lukim profet Netan. Na taim em i kam insait long ai bilong king, em i lindaunim em yet long ai bilong king wantaim pes bilong em long graun. | And they told the king, saying, Behold Nathan the prophet. And when he was come in before the king, he bowed himself before the king with his face to the ground. |
| 24 | Na Netan i tok, Bikman bilong mi, O king, yu bin tok, Adonaisa bai bosim kingdom bihain long mi, na em bai sindaun antap long sia king bilong mi? | And Nathan said, My lord, O king, hast thou said, Adonijah shall reign after me, and he shall sit upon my throne? |
| 25 | Long wanem, em i go daun tude, na em i bin kilim i dai ol bulmakau man na ol patpela bulmakau samting na sipsip i planti moa yet, na em i bin singautim olgeta pikinini man bilong king, na ol kepten bilong ami, na pris Abaiatar. Na, lukim, ol i kaikai na dring long ai bilong em, na tok, God i mas mekim king Adonaisa i stap laip. | For he is gone down this day, and hath slain oxen and fat cattle and sheep in abundance, and hath called all the king’s sons, and the captains of the host, and Abiathar the priest; and, behold, they eat and drink before him, and say, God save king Adonijah. |

| 28 | Nau king Devit i bekim na tok, Singautim Bat-siba i kam long mi. Na meri i kam long pes bilong king, na sanap long ai bilong king. | Then king David answered and said, Call me Bath–sheba. And she came into the king’s presence, and stood before the king. |
| 29 | Na king i wokim strongpela promis, na tok, Olsem BIKPELA i stap laip, husat i bin baim bek tewel bilong mi i kam ausait long olgeta bikpela wari, | And the king sware, and said, As the Lord liveth, that hath redeemed my soul out of all distress, |
| 30 | Yes, olsem mi bin wokim strongpela promis long yu long nem bilong God BIKPELA bilong Isrel, i spik, Tru tumas, pikinini man bilong yu Solomon bai bosim kingdom bihain long mi, na em bai sindaun long sia king bilong mi long senisim mi. Yes, olsem tasol bai mi mekim tru tru tude. | Even as I sware unto thee by the Lord God of Israel, saying, Assuredly Solomon thy son shall reign after me, and he shall sit upon my throne in my stead; even so will I certainly do this day. |
| 31 | Nau Bat-siba i lindaun wantaim pes bilong em i go long graun, na givim biknem long king, na tok, Larim bikman bilong mi, king Devit, i stap laip oltaim oltaim. | Then Bath–sheba bowed with her face to the earth, and did reverence to the king, and said, Let my lord king David live for ever. |
| 32 | ¶ Na king Devit i tok, Singautim i kam long mi pris Sedok, na profet Netan, na Benea, pikinini man bilong Jehoiada. Na ol i kam long ai bilong king. | And king David said, Call me Zadok the priest, and Nathan the prophet, and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada. And they came before the king. |
| 33 | King tu i tokim ol, Kisim wantaim yupela ol wokboi bilong bikman bilong yupela, na mekim Solomon, pikinini man bilong mi, long ran antap long miul bilong mi yet, na bringim em i go daun long Gihon. | The king also said unto them, Take with you the servants of your lord, and cause Solomon my son to ride upon mine own mule, and bring him down to Gihon: |

Na yupela winim biugel, na tok, God i mas mekim king Solomon i stap laip. | And let Zadok the priest and Nathan the prophet anoint him there king over Israel: and blow ye with the trumpet, and say, God save king Solomon. |

Na mi bin makim em long stap hetman long bosim Isrel na long bosim Juda. | Then ye shall come up after him, that he may come and sit upon my throne; for he shall be king in my stead: and I have appointed him to be ruler over Israel and over Judah. |
| 36 | Na Benea, pikinini man bilong Jehoiada, i bekim king, na tok, Amen. God BIKPELA bilong king, bikman bilong mi, i mas tok olsem tu. | And Benaiah the son of Jehoiada answered the king, and said, Amen: the Lord God of my lord the king say so too. |
| 37 | Olsem BIKPELA i bin stap wantaim king, bikman bilong mi, yes, olsem tasol Em i mas stap wantaim Solomon, na mekim sia king bilong em i bikpela moa long sia king bilong bikman bilong mi king Devit. | As the Lord hath been with my lord the king, even so be he with Solomon, and make his throne greater than the throne of my lord king David. |
| 38 | Olsem na pris Sedok, na profet Netan, na Benea, pikinini man bilong Jehoiada, na ol lain Keretim, na ol lain Pelet, i go daun, na mekim Solomon long ran antap long miul bilong king Devit, na ol i bringim em long Gihon. | So Zadok the priest, and Nathan the prophet, and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, and the Cherethites, and the Pelethites, went down, and caused Solomon to ride upon king David’s mule, and brought him to Gihon. |
| 39 | Na pris Sedok i kisim wanpela kom wel i kam ausait long haus sel holi, na makim Solomon. Na ol i winim biugel. Na olgeta manmeri i tok, God i mas mekim king Solomon i stap laip. | And Zadok the priest took an horn of oil out of the tabernacle, and anointed Solomon. And they blew the trumpet; and all the people said, God save king Solomon. |

Na taim Joap i harim nois bilong biugel, em i tok, Olsem wanem na dispela nois bilong dispela biktaun i stap taim ol i stap long wanpela bikpela paul nabaut? | And Adonijah and all the guests that were with him heard it as they had made an end of eating. And when Joab heard the sound of the trumpet, he said, Wherefore is this noise of the city being in an uproar? |
| 42 | Na taim em i toktok yet, lukim, Jonatan, pikinini man bilong pris Abaiatar i kam. Na Adonaisa i tokim em, Kam insait. Long wanem, yu stap wanpela strongpela man bilong pait, na yu bringim ol gutpela nius. | And while he yet spake, behold, Jonathan the son of Abiathar the priest came: and Adonijah said unto him, Come in; for thou art a valiant man, and bringest good tidings. |
| 43 | Na Jonatan i bekim na tokim Adonaisa, Tru tumas, bikman bilong yumi king Devit i bin mekim Solomon king. | And Jonathan answered and said to Adonijah, Verily our lord king David hath made Solomon king. |
| 44 | Na king i bin salim wantaim em pris Sedok, na profet Netan, na Benea, pikinini man bilong Jehoiada, na ol lain Keret, na ol lain Pelet, na ol i bin mekim em long ran antap long miul bilong king. | And the king hath sent with him Zadok the priest, and Nathan the prophet, and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, and the Cherethites, and the Pelethites, and they have caused him to ride upon the king’s mule: |
| 45 | Na pris Sedok na profet Netan i bin makim em king wantaim wel long Gihon. Na ol i wok long lusim dispela ples i kam antap wantaim amamas, inap long biktaun i ring gen. Dispela em i dispela nois yupela i bin harim. | And Zadok the priest and Nathan the prophet have anointed him king in Gihon: and they are come up from thence rejoicing, so that the city rang again. This is the noise that ye have heard. |

Na king i lindaunim em yet antap long bet. | And moreover the king’s servants came to bless our lord king David, saying, God make the name of Solomon better than thy name, and make his throne greater than thy throne. And the king bowed himself upon the bed. |
| 48 | Na tu king i tok olsem, Blesing i stap antap long God BIKPELA bilong Isrel, husat i bin givim wanpela bilong sindaun antap long sia king bilong mi tude, yes, ol ai bilong mi i lukim dispela. | And also thus said the king, Blessed be the Lord God of Israel, which hath given one to sit on my throne this day, mine eyes even seeing it. |
| 49 | Na olgeta husat i stap aninit long lukaut bilong Adonaisa na stap wantaim em i pret, na ol i kirap, na ol i go, olgeta wan wan man, long rot bilong em yet. | And all the guests that were with Adonijah were afraid, and rose up, and went every man his way. |
| 50 | Na Adonaisa i pret long Solomon, na kirap, na go, na holimpas strong ol kom bilong alta. | And Adonijah feared because of Solomon, and arose, and went, and caught hold on the horns of the altar. |

Long wanem, harim, em i bin holimpas strong ol kom bilong alta, i spik, Larim king Solomon wokim strongpela promis i kam long mi tude long em bai i no inap kilim i dai wokboi bilong em wantaim bainat. | And it was told Solomon, saying, Behold, Adonijah feareth king Solomon: for, lo, he hath caught hold on the horns of the altar, saying, Let king Solomon swear unto me to day that he will not slay his servant with the sword. |
