Ol i mekim samting bilong bihainim ol sting pasin bilong ol, yes, bilong ol lain Kenan, ol lain Hit, ol lain Peris, ol lain Jebus, ol lain Amon, ol lain Moap, ol lain Isip, na ol lain Amor. | Now when these things were done, the princes came to me, saying, The people of Israel, and the priests, and the Levites, have not separated themselves from the people of the lands, doing according to their abominations, even of the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Perizzites, the Jebusites, the Ammonites, the Moabites, the Egyptians, and the Amorites. |

Yes, han bilong ol hetman na ol bosman i bin nambawan long dispela pasin bilong sakim lo. | For they have taken of their daughters for themselves, and for their sons: so that the holy seed have mingled themselves with the people of those lands: yea, the hand of the princes and rulers hath been chief in this trespass. |
| 3 | Na taim mi harim dispela samting, mi brukim klos bilong mi na saket bilong mi, na pulim gras bilong het bilong mi na bilong mausgras bilong mi i kam ausait, na sindaun paul na mauspas olsem ston. | And when I heard this thing, I rent my garment and my mantle, and plucked off the hair of my head and of my beard, and sat down astonied. |

Na mi sindaun paul na mauspas olsem ston inap long taim bilong apinun sakrifais. | Then were assembled unto me every one that trembled at the words of the God of Israel, because of the transgression of those that had been carried away; and I sat astonied until the evening sacrifice. |

Na taim mi bin brukim klos bilong mi na saket bilong mi pinis, mi pundaun long tupela skru bilong lek bilong mi, na opim i go ausait tupela han bilong mi i go long BIKPELA, God bilong mi. | And at the evening sacrifice I arose up from my heaviness; and having rent my garment and my mantle, I fell upon my knees, and spread out my hands unto the Lord my God, |

Long wanem, ol sin nogut bilong mipela i kamap planti moa antap long het bilong mipela, na pasin bilong sakim lo bilong mipela i kamap bikpela i go antap i go long ol heven. | And said, O my God, I am ashamed and blush to lift up my face to thee, my God: for our iniquities are increased over our head, and our trespass is grown up unto the heavens. |
| 7 | I stat long ol de bilong ol tumbuna papa bilong mipela, mipela i bin stap long wanpela bikpela pasin bilong sakim lo i kam inap long tude. Na bilong ol sin nogut bilong mipela, mipela, ol king bilong mipela, na ol pris bilong mipela, Yu bin givim i go long han bilong ol king bilong ol dispela hap, long bainat, long kalabus, na long kamap wanpela kago bilong pait, na long tingting paul bilong pes, olsem em i stap tude. | Since the days of our fathers have we been in a great trespass unto this day; and for our iniquities have we, our kings, and our priests, been delivered into the hand of the kings of the lands, to the sword, to captivity, and to a spoil, and to confusion of face, as it is this day. |

Yet God bilong mipela i no bin givim baksait long mipela long taim kalabus bilong mipela, tasol Em i bin skruim sori i kam long mipela long ai bilong ol king bilong Persia, long givim long mipela wanpela taim bilong kirap gen, long sanapim haus bilong God bilong mipela, na long stretim ol hap i stap nating bilong en, na long givim mipela wanpela banis long Juda na long Jerusalem. | For we were bondmen; yet our God hath not forsaken us in our bondage, but hath extended mercy unto us in the sight of the kings of Persia, to give us a reviving, to set up the house of our God, and to repair the desolations thereof, and to give us a wall in Judah and in Jerusalem. |

| 11 | Dispela Yu bin tok strong long en long han bilong ol wokboi bilong Yu ol profet, i spik, Dispela hap, dispela yupela i go long en long holimpas dispela, em i wanpela hap i doti wantaim ol pasin i doti bilong ol manmeri bilong ol dispela hap, wantaim ol sting pasin bilong ol, dispela i bin pulimapim wanpela arere i go long narapela wantaim pasin doti bilong ol. | Which thou hast commanded by thy servants the prophets, saying, The land, unto which ye go to possess it, is an unclean land with the filthiness of the people of the lands, with their abominations, which have filled it from one end to another with their uncleanness. |

Ating i yes long Yu bai kamap belhat wantaim mipela inap long Yu bin kaikai mipela olgeta, inap long i no ken i gat hap lain i stap yet o lain bilong ranawe? | Should we again break thy commandments, and join in affinity with the people of these abominations? wouldest not thou be angry with us till thou hadst consumed us, so that there should be no remnant nor escaping? |

Long wanem, mipela i no inap sanap long ai bilong Yu bikos dispela i stap. | O Lord God of Israel, thou art righteous: for we remain yet escaped, as it is this day: behold, we are before thee in our trespasses: for we cannot stand before thee because of this. |
