¶ Na bihain long ol dispela samting, taim belhat tru bilong king Ahasuerus i kol gen, em i tingim gen Vasti, na wanem samting meri i bin mekim, na wanem strongpela tokaut i kamap i birua long em. | After these things, when the wrath of king Ahasuerus was appeased, he remembered Vashti, and what she had done, and what was decreed against her.
Nau ol wokboi bilong king husat i wokim wok long em i tokim em, Larim ol i painim bilong king ol naispela yangpela meri i no bin slip wantaim man. | Then said the king’s servants that ministered unto him, Let there be fair young virgins sought for the king:
Na larim king i makim ol ofisa bilong olgeta provins long kingdom bilong em, inap long ol i ken bungim wantaim olgeta naispela yangpela meri i no bin slip wantaim man i kam long haus king Susan, long haus bilong ol meri, i kam long han bilong Hege, man bilong king bilong bosim ol rum, wasman bilong ol meri. Na larim ol i givim long ol ol samting bilong ol bilong klinim. | And let the king appoint officers in all the provinces of his kingdom, that they may gather together all the fair young virgins unto Shushan the palace, to the house of the women, unto the custody of Hege the king’s chamberlain, keeper of the women; and let their things for purification be given them:
Na larim dispela yangpela meri husat i amamasim bel bilong king kamap kwin bilong senisim Vasti. Na dispela samting i amamasim bel bilong king, na em i mekim olsem. | And let the maiden which pleaseth the king be queen instead of Vashti. And the thing pleased the king; and he did so.
Nau long haus king Susan i gat wanpela Ju i stap, husat nem bilong en em Mordekai, pikinini man bilong Jair, pikinini man bilong Simei, pikinini man bilong Kis, wanpela man Benjamin, | Now in Shushan the palace there was a certain Jew, whose name was Mordecai, the son of Jair, the son of Shimei, the son of Kish, a Benjamite;
Husat ol i bin karim i go lusim Jerusalem wantaim ol kalabus lain husat ol i bin karim i go wantaim Jekonaia, king bilong Juda, husat Nebukatnesar, king bilong Babilon, i bin karim i go. | Who had been carried away from Jerusalem with the captivity which had been carried away with Jeconiah king of Judah, whom Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon had carried away.
Na em i lukautim Hadasa inap long em i bikpela, em i olsem, Esta, pikinini meri bilong liklik papa bilong em. Long wanem, em i no gat papa o mama tu, na dispela yangpela meri em i naispela na naispela tru, husat Mordekai, taim papa na mama bilong meri i dai pinis, i kisim olsem pikinini meri bilong em yet. | And he brought up Hadassah, that is, Esther, his uncle’s daughter: for she had neither father nor mother, and the maid was fair and beautiful; whom Mordecai, when her father and mother were dead, took for his own daughter.
Olsem na em i kamap olsem, taim ol man i harim tok strong bilong king na strongpela tokaut bilong em, na taim planti yangpela meri i bung wantaim long haus king Susan, long han bilong Hegai, long ol i bringim Esta tu long haus bilong king, long han bilong Hegai, wasman bilong ol meri. | So it came to pass, when the king’s commandment and his decree was heard, and when many maidens were gathered together unto Shushan the palace, to the custody of Hegai, that Esther was brought also unto the king’s house, to the custody of Hegai, keeper of the women.
Na dispela yangpela meri i amamasim bel bilong em, na meri i kisim gutpela pasin long em. Na em i givim hariap long em ol samting bilong em bilong kamap klin, wantaim ol kain samting olsem em i bilong em, na sevenpela yangpela meri, husat i fit long em i ken givim long em, ausait long haus bilong king. Na em i putim em na ol yangpela meri bilong em i go pas long nambawan ples bilong haus bilong ol meri. | And the maiden pleased him, and she obtained kindness of him; and he speedily gave her her things for purification, with such things as belonged to her, and seven maidens, which were meet to be given her, out of the king’s house: and he preferred her and her maids unto the best place of the house of the women.
Na Esta i no bin soim lain bilong em o kandre bilong em. Long wanem, Mordekai i bin givim tok long em long em i no ken soim dispela. | Esther had not shewed her people nor her kindred: for Mordecai had charged her that she should not shew it.
Na Mordekai i wokabaut olgeta wan wan de long ai bilong ples op bilong haus bilong ol meri, long save long Esta i stap olsem wanem, na wanem samting bai kamap long em. | And Mordecai walked every day before the court of the women’s house, to know how Esther did, and what should become of her.
Nau taim taim bilong olgeta wan wan yangpela meri i kamap bilong go insait long king Ahasuerus, bihain long em i bin stap 12 mun, bilong bihainim pasin bilong ol meri, (long wanem, olsem tasol ol de bilong kamap klin bilong ol i kamap pinis, em i olsem, sikispela mun wantaim wel bilong mur, na sikispela mun wantaim ol switpela smel, na wantaim ol arapela samting bilong mekim ol meri i kamap klin,) | Now when every maid’s turn was come to go in to king Ahasuerus, after that she had been twelve months, according to the manner of the women, (for so were the days of their purifications accomplished, to wit, six months with oil of myrrh, and six months with sweet odours, and with other things for the purifying of the women;)
Nau olsem tasol olgeta wan wan yangpela meri i kam long king. Wanem samting meri i gat laik long kisim, ol i givim long em long go wantaim em ausait long haus bilong ol meri i go insait long haus bilong king. | Then thus came every maiden unto the king; whatsoever she desired was given her to go with her out of the house of the women unto the king’s house.
Long apinun tru em i go, na long de bihain em i kam bek long namba tu haus bilong ol meri, long han bilong Sasgas, man bilong king bilong bosim ol rum, husat i lukautim ol nambatu lain meri. Meri i no kam insait i go long king moa, sapos king i no gat gutpela amamas long em, na long king i kolim em long nem bilong em. | In the evening she went, and on the morrow she returned into the second house of the women, to the custody of Shaashgaz, the king’s chamberlain, which kept the concubines: she came in unto the king no more, except the king delighted in her, and that she were called by name.
Nau taim taim bilong Esta, pikinini meri bilong Abihail, liklik papa bilong Mordekai, husat i bin kisim em olsem pikinini meri bilong em, i kamap long go long king, em i no strong long askim long wanpela samting, em i kisim tasol wanem samting Hegai, man bilong king bilong bosim ol rum, wasman bilong ol meri, i makim. Na Esta i kisim gutpela amamas long ai bilong olgeta lain husat i lukluk long em. | Now when the turn of Esther, the daughter of Abihail the uncle of Mordecai, who had taken her for his daughter, was come to go in unto the king, she required nothing but what Hegai the king’s chamberlain, the keeper of the women, appointed. And Esther obtained favour in the sight of all them that looked upon her.
Olsem na ol i kisim Esta i go long king Ahasuerus i go long haus king bilong em long namba ten mun, dispela em i mun Tebet, long namba seven yia em i bosim kingdom. | So Esther was taken unto king Ahasuerus into his house royal in the tenth month, which is the month Tebeth, in the seventh year of his reign.
Na king i laikim tru Esta antap moa long olgeta meri, na em i kisim marimari na gutpela amamas long ai bilong em moa long olgeta meri i no bin slip wantaim man, inap long em i putim hat kwin antap long het bilong em, na makim em kwin bilong senisim Vasti. | And the king loved Esther above all the women, and she obtained grace and favour in his sight more than all the virgins; so that he set the royal crown upon her head, and made her queen instead of Vashti.
Nau king i wokim wanpela bikpela kaikai tru i go long olgeta hetman bilong em na ol wokboi bilong em, yes, bikpela kaikai bilong Esta. Na em i wokim wanpela lusim long olgeta provins, na givim ol presen, bilong bihainim sindaun bilong king. | Then the king made a great feast unto all his princes and his servants, even Esther’s feast; and he made a release to the provinces, and gave gifts, according to the state of the king.
Na taim ol meri i no bin slip wantaim man i bung wantaim long namba tu taim, nau Mordekai i sindaun long dua bilong banis bilong king. | And when the virgins were gathered together the second time, then Mordecai sat in the king’s gate.
Esta i no bin soim yet ol kandre bilong em o ol lain bilong em, olsem Mordekai i bin givim tok long em. Long wanem, Esta i save wokim tok strong bilong Mordekai, wankain olsem taim Mordekai i lukautim em inap long em i bikpela. | Esther had not yet shewed her kindred nor her people; as Mordecai had charged her: for Esther did the commandment of Mordecai, like as when she was brought up with him.
¶ Long ol dispela de, taim Mordekai i sindaun long dua bilong banis bilong king, tupela bilong ol man bilong king bilong bosim ol rum, Biktan na Teres, bilong ol husat i lukautim dua, i belhat tru, na painim rot bilong putim han long king Ahasuerus. | In those days, while Mordecai sat in the king’s gate, two of the king’s chamberlains, Bigthan and Teresh, of those which kept the door, were wroth, and sought to lay hand on the king Ahasuerus.
Na dispela samting Mordekai i save long en, husat i tokim kwin Esta long en. Na Esta i strongim tok i go long king long en long nem bilong Mordekai. | And the thing was known to Mordecai, who told it unto Esther the queen; and Esther certified the king thereof in Mordecai’s name.
Na taim bikpela painimaut i kamap long dispela samting, ol i painimaut pinis dispela. Olsem na ol i hangamapim tupela wantaim long wanpela diwai. Na dispela ol i raitim long buk bilong ol stori long ai bilong king. | And when inquisition was made of the matter, it was found out; therefore they were both hanged on a tree: and it was written in the book of the chronicles before the king.
