| 2 | Pikinini man bilong man, toktok long ol pikinini bilong lain manmeri bilong yu, na tokim ol, Taim Mi bringim bainat antap long wanpela hap, sapos ol manmeri bilong dispela hap i kisim wanpela man bilong ol hap arere bilong ol, na putim em bilong stap wasman bilong ol, | Son of man, speak to the children of thy people, and say unto them, When I bring the sword upon a land, if the people of the land take a man of their coasts, and set him for their watchman: |
| 3 | Sapos taim em i lukim bainat i kam antap long dispela hap, em i winim biugel, na givim tok lukaut long ol manmeri, | If when he seeth the sword come upon the land, he blow the trumpet, and warn the people; |
| 4 | Nau husat man i harim nois bilong biugel, na em i no kisim tok lukaut, sapos bainat i kam, na kisim em i go, blut bilong em bai stap antap long het bilong em yet. | Then whosoever heareth the sound of the trumpet, and taketh not warning; if the sword come, and take him away, his blood shall be upon his own head. |
| 5 | Em i harim nois bilong biugel, na em i no kisim tok lukaut. Blut bilong em bai stap antap long em. Tasol man husat i kisim tok lukaut bai kisim bek tewel bilong em yet. | He heard the sound of the trumpet, and took not warning; his blood shall be upon him. But he that taketh warning shall deliver his soul. |

Tasol blut bilong em Mi bai strong long askim long han bilong wasman. | But if the watchman see the sword come, and blow not the trumpet, and the people be not warned; if the sword come, and take any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at the watchman’s hand. |

Olsem na yu bai harim tok long maus bilong Mi, na tok lukaut long ol i kam long Mi. | So thou, O son of man, I have set thee a watchman unto the house of Israel; therefore thou shalt hear the word at my mouth, and warn them from me. |
| 8 | Taim Mi tokim man nogut, O man nogut, tru tumas, yu bai dai, sapos yu no toktok bilong givim tok lukaut long man nogut long pasin bilong em, dispela man nogut bai dai long sin nogut bilong em. Tasol blut bilong em Mi bai strong long askim long han bilong yu. | When I say unto the wicked, O wicked man, thou shalt surely die; if thou dost not speak to warn the wicked from his way, that wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand. |

Tasol yu bin kisim bek tewel bilong yu. | Nevertheless, if thou warn the wicked of his way to turn from it; if he do not turn from his way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul. |
| 10 | ¶ Olsem na yu, O pikinini man bilong man, toktok long hauslain bilong Isrel, Yupela i toktok long en, i spik, Sapos ol pasin bilong mipela bilong kalapim lo na ol sin bilong mipela i stap antap long mipela, na mipela wok long go bun nating long ol, nau mipela i ken stap laip olsem wanem? | Therefore, O thou son of man, speak unto the house of Israel; Thus ye speak, saying, If our transgressions and our sins be upon us, and we pine away in them, how should we then live? |

Yupela tanim, yupela tanim long ol pasin nogut bilong yupela, long wanem, bilong wanem yupela laik dai, O hauslain bilong Isrel? | Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord God, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel? |

Na tu stretpela man bai i no inap stap laip long stretpela pasin bilong em long dispela de long em i mekim sin. | Therefore, thou son of man, say unto the children of thy people, The righteousness of the righteous shall not deliver him in the day of his transgression: as for the wickedness of the wicked, he shall not fall thereby in the day that he turneth from his wickedness; neither shall the righteous be able to live for his righteousness in the day that he sinneth. |

Tasol long ol sin nogut bilong em, dispela em i bin mekim, em bai dai long en. | When I shall say to the righteous, that he shall surely live; if he trust to his own righteousness, and commit iniquity, all his righteousnesses shall not be remembered; but for his iniquity that he hath committed, he shall die for it. |
| 14 | Na gen, taim Mi tokim man nogut, Tru tumas, yu bai dai, sapos em i tanim long sin bilong em na mekim dispela samting i bihainim lo na i stretpela, | Again, when I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; if he turn from his sin, and do that which is lawful and right; |
| 15 | Sapos man nogut i givim bek mak bilong promis, givim gen dispela em i bin stilim long raskol stil pasin, wokabaut long ol lo Mi raitim bilong laip, taim em i no mekim sin nogut, tru tumas, em bai stap laip, em bai i no inap dai. | If the wicked restore the pledge, give again that he had robbed, walk in the statutes of life, without committing iniquity; he shall surely live, he shall not die. |
| 16 | I no gat wanpela bilong ol sin bilong em long em i bin mekim bai wanpela man bai kolim liklik long em. Em i bin mekim dispela samting i bihainim lo na i stretpela. Tru tumas, em bai stap laip. | None of his sins that he hath committed shall be mentioned unto him: he hath done that which is lawful and right; he shall surely live. |
| 17 | Yet ol pikinini bilong lain manmeri bilong yu tok, Pasin bilong Bikpela i no wanmak stret. Tasol long sait bilong ol, pasin bilong ol i no wanmak stret. | Yet the children of thy people say, The way of the Lord is not equal: but as for them, their way is not equal. |
| 18 | Taim stretpela man i tanim long stretpela pasin bilong em, na mekim sin nogut, yes, em bai dai long en. | When the righteous turneth from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, he shall even die thereby. |
| 19 | Tasol sapos man nogut i tanim long pasin nogut bilong em, na mekim dispela samting i bihainim lo na i stretpela, em bai stap laip long en. | But if the wicked turn from his wickedness, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall live thereby. |
| 20 | Yet yupela i tok, Pasin bilong Bikpela i no wanmak stret. O yupela hauslain bilong Isrel, Mi bai jasim yupela olgeta wan wan i bihainim ol pasin bilong em. | Yet ye say, The way of the Lord is not equal. O ye house of Israel, I will judge you every one after his ways. |
| 21 | ¶ Na em i kamap long namba 12 yia bilong kalabus bilong mipela, long namba ten mun, long namba faiv de bilong mun, long wanpela husat i bin ranawe ausait long Jerusalem i kam long mi, i spik, Biktaun ol i paitim pinis. | And it came to pass in the twelfth year of our captivity, in the tenth month, in the fifth day of the month, that one that had escaped out of Jerusalem came unto me, saying, The city is smitten. |

Tasol mipela i planti. Dispela hap ol i givim long mipela bilong samting papa i givim pikinini. | Son of man, they that inhabit those wastes of the land of Israel speak, saying, Abraham was one, and he inherited the land: but we are many; the land is given us for inheritance. |
| 25 | Olsem na tokim ol, GOD Bikpela i tok olsem, Yupela i kaikai wantaim blut, na litimapim ol ai bilong yupela i go long ol piksa bilong god giaman bilong yupela, na kapsaitim blut. Na ating yupela bai holimpas dispela hap? | Wherefore say unto them, Thus saith the Lord God; Ye eat with the blood, and lift up your eyes toward your idols, and shed blood: and shall ye possess the land? |
| 26 | Yupela i sanap antap long bainat bilong yupela, yupela i wokim sting pasin, na yupela olgeta wan wan i mekim doti meri bilong man i stap klostu long em. Na ating yupela bai holimpas dispela hap? | Ye stand upon your sword, ye work abomination, and ye defile every one his neighbour’s wife: and shall ye possess the land? |
| 27 | Yu tok olsem long ol, GOD Bikpela i tok olsem, Olsem Mi stap laip, tru tumas, ol husat i stap long ol ples i pipia bai pundaun long bainat, na em husat i stap long ples kunai i op bai Mi givim long ol animal bilong kaikai olgeta, na ol husat i stap long ol haus soldia na insait long ol hul bilong ston bai dai long sik nogut. | Say thou thus unto them, Thus saith the Lord God; As I live, surely they that are in the wastes shall fall by the sword, and him that is in the open field will I give to the beasts to be devoured, and they that be in the forts and in the caves shall die of the pestilence. |

Na ol maunten bilong Isrel bai stap nating olgeta, inap long i no gat wanpela samting bai wokabaut namel long ol. | For I will lay the land most desolate, and the pomp of her strength shall cease; and the mountains of Israel shall be desolate, that none shall pass through. |
| 29 | Nau ol bai save long Mi stap BIKPELA, taim Mi bin mekim dispela hap i stap nating olgeta moa, bilong wanem, bilong olgeta sting pasin bilong ol, dispela ol i bin mekim. | Then shall they know that I am the Lord, when I have laid the land most desolate because of all their abominations which they have committed. |
| 30 | ¶ Na tu yu, pikinini man bilong man, ol pikinini bilong lain manmeri bilong yu i wok long toktok yet i birua long yu klostu long ol banis na insait long ol dua bilong ol haus, na toktok wanpela i go long narapela, olgeta wan wan long brata bilong em, i spik, Kam, mi askim yu plis, na harim wanem em i dispela tok i lusim BIKPELA i kam ausait. | Also, thou son of man, the children of thy people still are talking against thee by the walls and in the doors of the houses, and speak one to another, every one to his brother, saying, Come, I pray you, and hear what is the word that cometh forth from the Lord. |
| 31 | Na ol i kam long yu olsem ol manmeri i kam, na ol i sindaun long ai bilong yu olsem lain manmeri bilong Mi, na ol i harim ol toktok bilong yu, tasol ol i no laik mekim ol. Long wanem, wantaim maus bilong ol, ol i soim planti laikim tru, tasol bel bilong ol i go bihainim mangal pasin bilong ol. | And they come unto thee as the people cometh, and they sit before thee as my people, and they hear thy words, but they will not do them: for with their mouth they shew much love, but their heart goeth after their covetousness. |
| 32 | Na, harim, yu stap long ol olsem wanpela naispela song tru bilong wanpela husat i gat wanpela gutpela nek, na husat i ken wokim gut wanpela samting bilong wokim musik. Long wanem, ol i harim ol toktok bilong yu, tasol ol i no mekim ol. | And, lo, thou art unto them as a very lovely song of one that hath a pleasant voice, and can play well on an instrument: for they hear thy words, but they do them not. |
| 33 | Na taim dispela i kamap, (harim, em bai kamap,) nau ol bai save long wanpela profet i bin stap namel long ol. | And when this cometh to pass, (lo, it will come,) then shall they know that a prophet hath been among them. |
