Na ol i go insait long dispela hap graun long bagarapim dispela olgeta. | For they came up with their cattle and their tents, and they came as grasshoppers for multitude; for both they and their camels were without number: and they entered into the land to destroy it. |
| 6 | Na Isrel i kamap rabis tru bikos ol lain Midian i bagarapim ol. Na ol pikinini bilong Isrel i krai i go long BIKPELA. | And Israel was greatly impoverished because of the Midianites; and the children of Israel cried unto the Lord. |

Tasol nau BIKPELA i bin givim baksait long mipela, na givim mipela i go long han bilong ol lain Midian. | And Gideon said unto him, Oh my Lord, if the Lord be with us, why then is all this befallen us? and where be all his miracles which our fathers told us of, saying, Did not the Lord bring us up from Egypt? but now the Lord hath forsaken us, and delivered us into the hands of the Midianites. |
| 14 | Na BIKPELA i lukluk long em, na tok, Go long dispela strong bilong yu, na yu bai kisim bek Isrel long han bilong ol lain Midian. Ating i yes long Mi salim yu? | And the Lord looked upon him, and said, Go in this thy might, and thou shalt save Israel from the hand of the Midianites: have not I sent thee? |

| 20 | Na ensel bilong God i tokim em, Kisim abus na ol kek i no gat yis, na slipim ol antap long dispela ston, na kapsaitim sup. Na em i mekim olsem. | And the angel of God said unto him, Take the flesh and the unleavened cakes, and lay them upon this rock, and pour out the broth. And he did so. |

Then the angel of the Lord departed out of his sight. |

| 32 | Olsem na long dispela de em i kolim em Jerubeal, i spik, Larim Beal i toktok wantaim strongpela askim i birua long em, bilong wanem, em i bin tromoi i go daun alta bilong em. | Therefore on that day he called him Jerubbaal, saying, Let Baal plead against him, because he hath thrown down his altar. |

| 40 | Na God i mekim olsem long dispela nait. Long wanem, em i drai antap long hap gras bilong sipsip tasol, na i gat wara bilong nait long olgeta hap graun. | And God did so that night: for it was dry upon the fleece only, and there was dew on all the ground. |
