| 2 | Na ol Filistin i singautim ol pris na ol glasman, i spik, Mipela bai mekim wanem long bokis kontrak bilong BIKPELA? Tokim mipela long mipela bai salim em i go long ples bilong em wantaim wanem samting. | And the Philistines called for the priests and the diviners, saying, What shall we do to the ark of the Lord? tell us wherewith we shall send it to his place. |
| 3 | Na ol i tok, Sapos yupela salim i go bokis kontrak bilong God bilong Isrel, yupela i no ken salim dispela emti. Tasol, long bihainim wanem rot, givim bek long Em wanpela ofa bilong sakim lo. Nau ol bodi bilong yupela bai orait gen, na em bai stap klia long yupela bilong wanem han bilong Em i no lusim yupela. | And they said, If ye send away the ark of the God of Israel, send it not empty; but in any wise return him a trespass offering: then ye shall be healed, and it shall be known to you why his hand is not removed from you. |

Ol i bekim tok, Faipela emrot gol, na faipela rat gol, bilong bihainim namba bilong ol bikman bilong ol Filistin. Long wanem, wanpela sik nogut i stap antap long yupela olgeta, na antap long ol bikman bilong yupela. | Then said they, What shall be the trespass offering which we shall return to him? They answered, Five golden emerods, and five golden mice, according to the number of the lords of the Philistines: for one plague was on you all, and on your lords. |

Na putim ol bilas i dia tru bilong gol, dispela yupela i givim bek long Em bilong wanpela ofa bilong sakim lo, insait long wanpela liklik bokis i slip klostu long en. Na salim dispela i go, inap long em i ken go. | And take the ark of the Lord, and lay it upon the cart; and put the jewels of gold, which ye return him for a trespass offering, in a coffer by the side thereof; and send it away, that it may go. |

Tasol sapos nogat, orait yumi bai save long dispela em i no han bilong Em i paitim yumi, em i sans long dispela i kamap long yumi. | And see, if it goeth up by the way of his own coast to Beth–shemesh, then he hath done us this great evil: but if not, then we shall know that it is not his hand that smote us; it was a chance that happened to us. |
| 10 | ¶ Na ol man i mekim olsem. Na ol i kisim tupela susu bulmakau meri, na pasim tupela long karis, na pasim tupela pikinini bilong ol bek long ples. | And the men did so; and took two milch kine, and tied them to the cart, and shut up their calves at home: |
| 11 | Na ol i slipim bokis kontrak bilong BIKPELA antap long karis, na liklik bokis wantaim ol rat gol, na ol piksa bilong ol emrot bilong ol. | And they laid the ark of the Lord upon the cart, and the coffer with the mice of gold and the images of their emerods. |
| 12 | Na tupela bulmakau meri i bihainim rot stret i go long rot bilong Bet-semes, na bihainim bikrot, na krai strong taim ol i go, na ol i no tanim long sait liklik long han sut o long han kais. Na ol bikman bilong ol Filistin i go bihainim ol inap long hap arere bilong Bet-semes. | And the kine took the straight way to the way of Beth–shemesh, and went along the highway, lowing as they went, and turned not aside to the right hand or to the left; and the lords of the Philistines went after them unto the border of Beth–shemesh. |
| 13 | Na ol bilong Bet-semes i wok long kamautim wit bilong ol long ples daun. Na ol i apim ol ai bilong ol, na lukim bokis kontrak, na wokim amamas tru long lukim dispela. | And they of Beth–shemesh were reaping their wheat harvest in the valley: and they lifted up their eyes, and saw the ark, and rejoiced to see it. |
| 14 | Na karis i kam long bikpela gaden bilong Josua, man Bet-semes, na sanap long dispela hap, we wanpela bikpela ston i stap. Na ol i brukim diwai bilong karis, na ofaim tupela bulmakau meri long ofa i kuk olgeta i go long BIKPELA. | And the cart came into the field of Joshua, a Beth–shemite, and stood there, where there was a great stone: and they clave the wood of the cart, and offered the kine a burnt offering unto the Lord. |
| 15 | Na ol lain Livai i kisim bokis kontrak bilong BIKPELA i kam daun, na liklik bokis i stap wantaim dispela, we ol bilas i dia tru bilong gol i stap, na putim ol antap long dispela bikpela ston. Na ol man bilong Bet-semes i ofaim ol ofa i kuk olgeta na ofaim ol sakrifais i go long BIKPELA long dispela de stret. | And the Levites took down the ark of the Lord, and the coffer that was with it, wherein the jewels of gold were, and put them on the great stone: and the men of Beth–shemesh offered burnt offerings and sacrificed sacrifices the same day unto the Lord. |
| 16 | Na taim dispela faipela bikman bilong ol Filistin i bin lukim dispela, ol i go bek long Ekron long dispela de stret. | And when the five lords of the Philistines had seen it, they returned to Ekron the same day. |
| 17 | Na ol dispela em ol dispela emrot gol ol Filistin i givim bek long BIKPELA bilong wanpela ofa bilong sakim lo, bilong Asdot wanpela, bilong Gasa wanpela, bilong Askelon wanpela, bilong Gat wanpela, bilong Ekron wanpela. | And these are the golden emerods which the Philistines returned for a trespass offering unto the Lord; for Ashdod one, for Gaza one, for Askelon one, for Gath one, for Ekron one; |
| 18 | Na ol rat gol, bilong bihainim namba bilong olgeta biktaun bilong ol Filistin i bilong dispela faipela bikman, ol biktaun i gat banis, na ol hap bilong ol vilis wantaim, yes, i go inap long dispela bikpela ston bilong Ebel, we ol i slipim bokis kontrak bilong BIKPELA antap long en. Dispela ston i stap yet inap long tude long bikpela gaden bilong Josua, man Bet-semes. | And the golden mice, according to the number of all the cities of the Philistines belonging to the five lords, both of fenced cities, and of country villages, even unto the great stone of Abel, whereon they set down the ark of the Lord: which stone remaineth unto this day in the field of Joshua, the Beth–shemite. |

Na ol manmeri i krai sori, bilong wanem, BIKPELA i bin paitim planti bilong ol manmeri wantaim wanpela bikpela kilim i dai. | And he smote the men of Beth–shemesh, because they had looked into the ark of the Lord, even he smote of the people fifty thousand and threescore and ten men: and the people lamented, because the Lord had smitten many of the people with a great slaughter. |
| 20 | Na ol man bilong Bet-semes i tok, Husat em inap long sanap long ai bilong dispela holi God BIKPELA? Na Em bai lusim yumi long i go antap long husat? | And the men of Beth–shemesh said, Who is able to stand before this holy Lord God? and to whom shall he go up from us? |
| 21 | Na ol i salim ol mausman long ol man i stap long Kiriat-jerim, i spik, Ol Filistin i bin bringim gen bokis kontrak bilong BIKPELA. Yupela kam daun, na kisim dispela i go antap long yupela. | And they sent messengers to the inhabitants of Kirjath–jearim, saying, The Philistines have brought again the ark of the Lord; come ye down, and fetch it up to you. |
