절King Jems Pisin BaibelKing James Version
¶ Nau taim ol i bin wokabaut long Amfipolis na Apolonia, ol i kam long Tesalonaika, we i gat wanpela sinagog bilong ol Ju. Now when they had passed through Amphipolis and Apollonia, they came to Thessalonica, where was a synagogue of the Jews:
Na Pol, olsem em i kastam bilong em, i go insait long ol, na tripela de sabat em i wok long stretim tok wantaim ol wantaim rait bilong God, And Paul, as his manner was, went in unto them, and three sabbath days reasoned with them out of the scriptures,
Taim em i opim na soim tingting, long Kraist i mas i gat nid long karim pen, na kirap bek gen long dai. Na long dispela Jisas, husat mi autim long yupela, em Kraist. Opening and alleging, that Christ must needs have suffered, and risen again from the dead; and that this Jesus, whom I preach unto you, is Christ.
Na sampela bilong ol i bilip, na poroman wantaim Pol na Sailas, na bilong ol Grik i strong long bihainim lotu wanpela traipela lain tru, na bilong ol nambawan meri i no liklik lain. And some of them believed, and consorted with Paul and Silas; and of the devout Greeks a great multitude, and of the chief women not a few.
Tasol ol Ju husat i no bilip, taim mangal tingting i muvim ol, i kisim sampela pamuk rot man bilong ol kain man nating, na bungim wanpela lain, na kirapim bikpela paul nabaut long dispela biktaun olgeta, na ol i paitim hauslain bilong Jeson, na painim rot long bringim ol ausait i go long ol manmeri. But the Jews which believed not, moved with envy, took unto them certain lewd fellows of the baser sort, and gathered a company, and set all the city on an uproar, and assaulted the house of Jason, and sought to bring them out to the people.
Na taim ol i no lukim ol, ol i pulim Jeson na sampela brata i go long ol hetman bilong biktaun, na singaut, Ol dispela man husat i bin tanim dispela graun antap long het bilong en i kam hia tu, And when they found them not, they drew Jason and certain brethren unto the rulers of the city, crying, These that have turned the world upside down are come hither also;
Husat Jeson i bin kisim. Na ol dispela olgeta i mekim pasin i birua long ol strongpela tokaut bilong Sisar, taim ol i toktok long i gat narapela king, wanpela Jisas. Whom Jason hath received: and these all do contrary to the decrees of Cesar, saying that there is another king, one Jesus.
Na ol i givim wari long ol manmeri na ol hetman bilong biktaun, taim ol i harim ol dispela samting. And they troubled the people and the rulers of the city, when they heard these things.
Na taim ol i bin kisim mak bilong tok promis long Jeson, na bilong arapela, ol i larim ol i go. And when they had taken security of Jason, and of the other, they let them go.
¶ Na wantu ol brata i salim Pol na Sailas i go long nait i go long Beria, husat taim ol i kam long dispela hap i go insait long sinagog bilong ol Ju. And the brethren immediately sent away Paul and Silas by night unto Berea: who coming thither went into the synagogue of the Jews.
Ol dispela i bikman moa long ol dispela long Tesalonaika, long dispela, ol i kisim tok wantaim olgeta pasin redi bilong tingting, na ol i painim tru long rait bilong God olgeta wan wan de, long ol dispela samting i tru o nogat. These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.
Olsem na planti bilong ol i bilip. Na tu bilong ol meri i gat ona husat i bilong ol Grik, na bilong ol man, i no liklik lain. Therefore many of them believed; also of honourable women which were Greeks, and of men, not a few.
Tasol taim ol Ju bilong Tesalonaika i bin kisim save long Pol i autim tok bilong God long Beria, ol i kam long dispela hap tu, na kirapim ol manmeri. But when the Jews of Thessalonica had knowledge that the word of God was preached of Paul at Berea, they came thither also, and stirred up the people.
Na nau wantu ol brata i salim Pol i go samting olsem em i go long biksi. Tasol Sailas na Timotias i stap yet long dispela hap. And then immediately the brethren sent away Paul to go as it were to the sea: but Silas and Timotheus abode there still.
Na ol i husat i bringim Pol i bringim em long Atens. Na taim ol i kisim wanpela tok strong i go long Sailas na Timotias long kam long em wantaim olgeta hariap, ol i go. And they that conducted Paul brought him unto Athens: and receiving a commandment unto Silas and Timotheus for to come to him with all speed, they departed.
¶ Nau taim Pol i wetim ol long Atens, spirit bilong em i kirap insait long em, taim em i lukim dispela biktaun olgeta i givim ol yet long lotuim ol piksa bilong god giaman. Now while Paul waited for them at Athens, his spirit was stirred in him, when he saw the city wholly given to idolatry.
Olsem na em i tok pait insait long sinagog wantaim ol Ju, na wantaim ol man i strong long bihainim lotu, na long maket olgeta wan wan de wantaim ol husat i bung wantaim em. Therefore disputed he in the synagogue with the Jews, and with the devout persons, and in the market daily with them that met with him.
Nau sampela saveman bilong man bilong ol lain Epikurian, na ol lain Stoik, i bungim em. Na sampela i tok, Dispela man bilong tok nating bai tok wanem? Sampela arapela i tok, I luk olsem em i man bilong putim ples klia ol narakain god. Bilong wanem, em i autim tok long ol long Jisas, na kirap bek long dai. Then certain philosophers of the Epicureans, and of the Stoicks, encountered him. And some said, What will this babbler say? other some, He seemeth to be a setter forth of strange gods: because he preached unto them Jesus, and the resurrection.
Na ol i kisim em, na bringim em i go long Areopagas, i spik, Inap long mipela i ken save long dispela nupela skul, we yu toktok long en, em wanem? And they took him, and brought him unto Areopagus, saying, May we know what this new doctrine, whereof thou speakest, is?
Long wanem, yu bringim sampela narakain samting i kam long ol ia bilong mipela. Olsem na mipela i gat laik long save long ol dispela samting i gat wanem mining. For thou bringest certain strange things to our ears: we would know therefore what these things mean.
(Long wanem, olgeta man bilong Atens na ol ausait man husat i stap long dispela hap i no yusim taim bilong ol long wanpela narapela samting, nogat, long tokaut o long harim sampela nupela samting tasol.) (For all the Athenians and strangers which were there spent their time in nothing else, but either to tell, or to hear some new thing.)
¶ Nau Pol i sanap insait long namel bilong liklik maunten Mars, na tok, Yupela ol man bilong Atens, mi kisim save long insait long olgeta samting, yupela i gat ol kain kain bilip nating tumas. Then Paul stood in the midst of Mars’ hill, and said, Ye men of Athens, I perceive that in all things ye are too superstitious.
Long wanem, taim mi wokabaut klostu, na lukim ol lotu samting bilong yupela, mi lukim wanpela alta wantaim dispela rait, I GO LONG GOD MIPELA I NO SAVE. Olsem na em husat yupela i no klia na lotu, mi tokaut long yupela long em. For as I passed by, and beheld your devotions, I found an altar with this inscription, TO THE UNKNOWN GOD. Whom therefore ye ignorantly worship, him declare I unto you.
God husat i wokim dispela graun na olgeta samting i stap insait long en, taim yumi luksave olsem em i Bikpela bilong heven na dispela graun, i no stap insait long ol tempel ol han i wokim. God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands;
Na tu ol han bilong man i no inap long lotuim em, olsem em i gat nid long wanpela samting, taim yumi luksave long em i givim laip long olgeta, na win, na olgeta samting. Neither is worshipped with men’s hands, as though he needed any thing, seeing he giveth to all life, and breath, and all things;
Na em i bin wokim long wanpela blut olgeta kantri bilong ol man bilong stap long olgeta hap bilong pes bilong dispela graun, na em i bin pasim tok long em yet long ol taim bipo em i bin makim, na long ol hap arere bilong ol bilong stap. And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation;
Inap long ol i ken painim Bikpela, sapos i ken kamap long ol i ken pilim i bihainim em, na painim em pinis, maski em i no stap longwe long olgeta wan wan bilong yumi. That they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after him, and find him, though he be not far from every one of us:
Long wanem, insait long em yumi stap laip, na muv, na gat laip bilong yumi. Olsem sampela tu bilong ol man bilong raitim poem bilong yupela i bin tok, Long wanem, yumi tu i kamaut long em. For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring.
Bikos nau yumi kamaut long God, yumi no ken ting olsem dispela God Olgeta em i wankain olsem gol, o silva, o ston, dispela man i sapim long save samting na plen bilong man. Forasmuch then as we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Godhead is like unto gold, or silver, or stone, graven by art and man’s device.
Na ol dispela taim bilong ol man i no klia God i no tingting tumas long en. Tasol nau em i tok strong long olgeta man long olgeta wan wan hap long ol i mas tanim bel. And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:
Bilong wanem, em i bin makim wanpela de, insait long dispela em bai jasim dispela graun long stretpela pasin long dispela man husat em i bin makim. We em i bin givim strongpela bilip long olgeta man long en, long dispela, em i bin kirapim em long dai. Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead.
¶ Na taim ol i harim stori long kirap bek long dai, sampela i wokim pani bilong daunim. Na ol arapela i tok, Mipela i gat laik long harim yu gen long dispela samting. And when they heard of the resurrection of the dead, some mocked: and others said, We will hear thee again of this matter.
Olsem na Pol i lusim hap i namel long ol. So Paul departed from among them.
Tasol sampela man i holimpas em strong, na bilip. Namel long husat em man Areopagas Daionisias, na wanpela meri husat nem bilong em em Damaris, na ol arapela wantaim ol. Howbeit certain men clave unto him, and believed: among the which was Dionysius the Areopagite, and a woman named Damaris, and others with them.
