¶ Nau i gat sampela profet na tisa i stap long sios long Antiok, olsem Banabas, na Simion husat ol i kolim Naijer, na Lusias bilong Sairini, na Manaen, husat papamama i bin lukautim inap long em i bikpela wantaim namba foa hap king Herot, na Sol. | Now there were in the church that was at Antioch certain prophets and teachers; as Barnabas, and Simeon that was called Niger, and Lucius of Cyrene, and Manaen, which had been brought up with Herod the tetrarch, and Saul.
Taim ol i wokim wok long Bikpela, na tambuim kaikai, Holi Spirit i tok, Brukim long mi Banabas na Sol long dispela wok we mi bin singautim ol long en. | As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them.
Na taim ol i bin tambuim kaikai na beten, na slipim ol han bilong ol antap long ol, ol i salim ol i go. | And when they had fasted and prayed, and laid their hands on them, they sent them away.
¶ Olsem na, taim Holi Spirit i salim ol i go, ol i go long Selusia. Na long dispela ples ol i ran long sip i go long Saipras. | So they, being sent forth by the Holy Ghost, departed unto Seleucia; and from thence they sailed to Cyprus.
Na taim ol i stap long Salamis, ol i autim tok bilong God long ol sinagog bilong ol Ju. Na ol i gat Jon tu bilong wokim wok long ol. | And when they were at Salamis, they preached the word of God in the synagogues of the Jews: and they had also John to their minister.
Na taim ol i bin go namel long ailan i go long Pafos, ol i lukim wanpela poisin man stret, wanpela giaman profet, wanpela Ju, husat nem bilong em em Ba-jisas. | And when they had gone through the isle unto Paphos, they found a certain sorcerer, a false prophet, a Jew, whose name was Bar–jesus:
Husat i stap wantaim tultul bilong dispela kantri, Serjias Paulas, wanpela man bilong yusim save. Husat i singautim Banabas na Sol, na askim long harim tok bilong God. | Which was with the deputy of the country, Sergius Paulus, a prudent man; who called for Barnabas and Saul, and desired to hear the word of God.
Tasol poisin man Elimas (long wanem, em nem bilong em olsem taim yumi tanim) i sanap strong na birua long ol, taim em i painim rot long tanim i go tultul long lusim bilip tru. | But Elymas the sorcerer (for so is his name by interpretation) withstood them, seeking to turn away the deputy from the faith.
Nau Sol, (husat tu ol i kolim Pol,) taim em i pulap wantaim Holi Spirit, i putim tupela ai bilong em i go long em, | Then Saul, (who also is called Paul,) filled with the Holy Ghost, set his eyes on him,
Na tok, O man i pulap long olgeta tingting i antap tumas na olgeta pasin i gat trabel, yu pikinini bilong Seten, yu birua bilong olgeta stretpela pasin, ating i yes long yu ken lusim pasin bilong paulim ol stretpela rot bilong Bikpela? | And said, O full of all subtilty and all mischief, thou child of the devil, thou enemy of all righteousness, wilt thou not cease to pervert the right ways of the Lord?
Na nau, lukim, han bilong Bikpela i stap antap long yu, na yu bai stap aipas, yu no inap lukim san liklik taim. Na wantu i gat wanpela sno wara na wanpela tudak i pundaun antap long em. Na em i go nabaut long painim sampela long holim han na stiaim em. | And now, behold, the hand of the Lord is upon thee, and thou shalt be blind, not seeing the sun for a season. And immediately there fell on him a mist and a darkness; and he went about seeking some to lead him by the hand.
Nau tultul, taim em i lukim wanem samting i kamap, i bilip, taim em i kirap nogut long skul bilong Bikpela. | Then the deputy, when he saw what was done, believed, being astonished at the doctrine of the Lord.
Nau taim Pol na ol lain bilong em i lusim Pafos, ol i kam long Perga bilong Pamfilia. Na Jon i lusim ol na go bek long Jerusalem. | Now when Paul and his company loosed from Paphos, they came to Perga in Pamphylia: and John departing from them returned to Jerusalem.
¶ Tasol taim ol i lusim Perga, ol i kam long Antiok long Pisidia, na ol i go insait long sinagog long de sabat, na sindaun. | But when they departed from Perga, they came to Antioch in Pisidia, and went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and sat down.
Na bihain long ol i ritim long lo na ol profet ol hetman bilong sinagog i salim tok long ol, i spik, Yupela ol man na olbrata, sapos yupela i gat wanpela tok bilong strongim bel bilong ol manmeri, toktok tasol. | And after the reading of the law and the prophets the rulers of the synagogue sent unto them, saying, Ye men and brethren, if ye have any word of exhortation for the people, say on.
Nau Pol i sanap, na wokim mak wantaim han bilong em na tok, Ol man bilong Isrel, na yupela husat i pret long God, givim ia. | Then Paul stood up, and beckoning with his hand said, Men of Israel, and ye that fear God, give audience.
God bilong dispela lain manmeri bilong Isrel i makim ol tumbuna papa bilong yumi, na litimapim ol manmeri taim ol i stap olsem ol ausait man long hap bilong Isip, na wantaim wanpela han i antap em i bringim ol i kam ausait long en. | The God of this people of Israel chose our fathers, and exalted the people when they dwelt as strangers in the land of Egypt, and with an high arm brought he them out of it.
Na taim nabaut olsem 40 yia em i karim hevi long ol pasin bilong ol long ples i no gat man. | And about the time of forty years suffered he their manners in the wilderness.
Na taim em i bin bagarapim olgeta sevenpela kantri long hap bilong Kenan, em i brukim hap graun bilong ol long satu. | And when he had destroyed seven nations in the land of Chanaan, he divided their land to them by lot.
Na bihain long dispela em i givim i go long ol ol jas long taim nabaut olsem 450 yia, inap long taim bilong profet Samyuel. | And after that he gave unto them judges about the space of four hundred and fifty years, until Samuel the prophet.
Na bihain long en ol i askim long wanpela king. Na God i givim long ol Sol, pikinini man bilong Kis, wanpela man bilong lain bilong Benjamin, long taim olsem 40 yia. | And afterward they desired a king: and God gave unto them Saul the son of Cis, a man of the tribe of Benjamin, by the space of forty years.
Na taim em i bin rausim em, em i kirapim Devit long ol long stap king bilong ol, long husat tu em i givim testimoni, na tok, Mi bin lukim Devit, pikinini man bilong Jesi, wanpela man i bihainim bel bilong mi yet, husat bai inapim olgeta laik bilong mi. | And when he had removed him, he raised up unto them David to be their king; to whom also he gave testimony, and said, I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after mine own heart, which shall fulfil all my will.
Long tumbuna pikinini bilong dispela man God, bilong bihainim promis bilong em, i bin kirapim long Isrel wanpela Man Bilong Kisim Bek, Jisas, | Of this man’s seed hath God according to his promise raised unto Israel a Saviour, Jesus:
Taim Jon i bin autim tok pastaim, bipo em i kamap, long baptais bilong tanim bel long olgeta manmeri bilong Isrel. | When John had first preached before his coming the baptism of repentance to all the people of Israel.
Na taim Jon i inapim wok bilong em, em i tok, Yupela i ting mi husat? Mi no dispela man. Tasol, lukim, i gat wanpela i kam bihain long mi, husat ol su bilong lek bilong em mi no gat namba inap long lusim. | And as John fulfilled his course, he said, Whom think ye that I am? I am not he. But, behold, there cometh one after me, whose shoes of his feet I am not worthy to loose.
Ol man na ol brata, ol pikinini bilong lain tumbuna bilong Ebraham, na husat man namel long yupela i pret long God, long yupela God i salim dispela tok bilong kisim bek. | Men and brethren, children of the stock of Abraham, and whosoever among you feareth God, to you is the word of this salvation sent.
Long wanem, ol husat i stap long Jerusalem, na ol hetman bilong ol, bikos ol i no save long em, o yet ol nek bilong ol profet husat ol i ritim olgeta wan wan de sabat, ol i bin inapim ol taim ol i mekim em lus long kot. | For they that dwell at Jerusalem, and their rulers, because they knew him not, nor yet the voices of the prophets which are read every sabbath day, they have fulfilled them in condemning him.
Na maski ol i no lukim wanpela as bilong dai insait long em, yet ol i askim Pailat long em i ken kilim em i dai. | And though they found no cause of death in him, yet desired they Pilate that he should be slain.
Na taim ol i bin inapim olgeta samting ol profet i raitim long em, ol i kisim em i kam daun long diwai, na slipim em long wanpela matmat. | And when they had fulfilled all that was written of him, they took him down from the tree, and laid him in a sepulchre.
Tasol God i kirapim em long dai. | But God raised him from the dead:
Na ol husat i kam antap wantaim em long Galili i go long Jerusalem i bin lukim em planti de, husat i stap ol witnes bilong em i go long ol manmeri. | And he was seen many days of them which came up with him from Galilee to Jerusalem, who are his witnesses unto the people.
Na mipela i tokaut long gutpela nius long yupela, olsem long dispela promis God i wokim long ol tumbuna papa, | And we declare unto you glad tidings, how that the promise which was made unto the fathers,
God i bin inapim dispela stret long yumi ol tumbuna pikinini bilong ol, long dispela, em i bin kirapim Jisas gen, olsem rait i stap pinis tu long namba tu sam, yu stap Pikinini Man bilong mi, tude mi bin kamapim yu. | God hath fulfilled the same unto us their children, in that he hath raised up Jesus again; as it is also written in the second psalm, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee.
Na long sait bilong em i kirapim em long dai, nau long em i no inap go bek long ples bagarap moa, em i tok long dispela pasin, Mi bai givim yu ol sori i tru olgeta bilong Devit. | And as concerning that he raised him up from the dead, now no more to return to corruption, he said on this wise, I will give you the sure mercies of David.
Olsem na em i tok tu long narapela sam, Yu bai i no inap larim Man Holi bilong yu sting long matmat. | Wherefore he saith also in another psalm, Thou shalt not suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.
Long wanem Devit, bihain long em i bin wokim wok long wan lain tumbuna bilong em yet long laik bilong God, em i slip pinis, na ol i slipim em i go long ol tumbuna papa bilong em, na em i sting long matmat. | For David, after he had served his own generation by the will of God, fell on sleep, and was laid unto his fathers, and saw corruption:
Tasol em, husat God i kirapim gen, i no sting long matmat. | But he, whom God raised again, saw no corruption.
Olsem na, ol man na ol brata, yupela i ken save, long wok bilong dispela man mipela i autim tok long yupela long God i ken lusim ol sin bilong yupela. | Be it known unto you therefore, men and brethren, that through this man is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins:
Na long em olgeta husat i bilip i kamap stretpela long olgeta samting, long ol dispela yupela i no inap kamap stretpela long ol long lo bilong Moses. | And by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses.
Olsem na lukaut gut, nogut dispela i kam antap long yupela, dispela ol i toktok long en insait long ol profet. | Beware therefore, lest that come upon you, which is spoken of in the prophets;
Lukim, yupela man bilong tingim God em i samting nating, na tingting planti, na dai olgeta. Long wanem, mi bai wokim wanpela wok long ol de bilong yupela, wanpela wok, dispela yupela i no inap tru long bilipim, maski wanpela man i tokaut long en long yupela. | Behold, ye despisers, and wonder, and perish: for I work a work in your days, a work which ye shall in no wise believe, though a man declare it unto you.
¶ Na taim ol Ju i go ausait long sinagog pinis, ol man i no Ju i askim plis strong long ol i ken autim ol dispela toktok long ol long sabat bihain. | And when the Jews were gone out of the synagogue, the Gentiles besought that these words might be preached to them the next sabbath.
Nau taim dispela bung bilong ol manmeri i bruk pinis, planti bilong ol Ju na ol lotu man i bihainim lotu bilong ol Ju i bihainim Pol na Banabas, husat, taim ol i toktok long ol, i pulim tingting bilong ol long stap yet insait long marimari bilong God. | Now when the congregation was broken up, many of the Jews and religious proselytes followed Paul and Barnabas: who, speaking to them, persuaded them to continue in the grace of God.
Na de sabat bihain klostu olgeta bilong dispela biktaun i kam bung wantaim bilong harim tok bilong God. | And the next sabbath day came almost the whole city together to hear the word of God.
Tasol taim ol Ju i lukim ol bikpela lain tru, ol i pulap wantaim mangal tingting, na tok birua long ol dispela samting Pol i toktok long en, taim ol i tok i birua long tok yet na taim ol i tok bilas. | But when the Jews saw the multitudes, they were filled with envy, and spake against those things which were spoken by Paul, contradicting and blaspheming.
Nau Pol na Banabas i wok long kamap ol man i no pret, na tok, Em i gat nid long mipela i mas toktok long tok bilong God long yupela pastaim. Tasol taim yumi luksave long yupela i putim dispela longwe long yupela, na jasim olsem yupela yet i no gat namba inap long kisim laip i stap gut oltaim oltaim, harim, mipela i tanim i go long ol man i no Ju. | Then Paul and Barnabas waxed bold, and said, It was necessary that the word of God should first have been spoken to you: but seeing ye put it from you, and judge yourselves unworthy of everlasting life, lo, we turn to the Gentiles.
Long wanem, Bikpela i bin tok strong long mipela olsem, i spik, Mi bin putim yu bilong stap wanpela lait long ol man i no Ju, inap long yu ken stap samting bilong kisim bek i go inap long las hap bilong dispela graun. | For so hath the Lord commanded us, saying, I have set thee to be a light of the Gentiles, that thou shouldest be for salvation unto the ends of the earth.
Na taim ol man i no Ju i harim dispela, ol i amamas, na givim glori long tok bilong Bikpela. Na hamas man God i makim bilong kisim laip i stap gut oltaim oltaim i bilip. | And when the Gentiles heard this, they were glad, and glorified the word of the Lord: and as many as were ordained to eternal life believed.
Na tok bilong Bikpela i kamap ples klia long olgeta hap bilong dispela hap graun. | And the word of the Lord was published throughout all the region.
Tasol ol Ju i kirapim ol meri i strong long bihainim lotu na i gat ona, na ol nambawan hetman bilong dispela biktaun, na ol i kirapim pasin bilong givim hevi i birua long Pol na Banabas, na rausim ol i go ausait long ol hap arere bilong ol. | But the Jews stirred up the devout and honourable women, and the chief men of the city, and raised persecution against Paul and Barnabas, and expelled them out of their coasts.
Tasol ol i seksekim das i lusim ol lek bilong ol i birua long ol, na kam insait long Aikoniam. | But they shook off the dust of their feet against them, and came unto Iconium.
Na ol disaipel i pulap wantaim amamas tru, na wantaim Holi Spirit. | And the disciples were filled with joy, and with the Holy Ghost.
