|---|---|---|
¶ Larim olgeta wan wan tewel stap aninit long ol pawa i winim em. Long wanem, i no gat pawa i no kam long God tasol. Ol dispela pawa i stap God i makim. | Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.
Olsem na husat man i sanap na birua long dispela pawa, em i sanap na birua long lo God i makim. Na ol husat i sanap na birua bai kisim long ol yet pe nogut bilong kot. | Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation.
Long wanem, ol hetman i no wanpela samting bilong pretim nogut tru long ol gutpela wok, tasol long ol pasin nogut. Ating i yes long nau yu bai pret long dispela pawa? Mekim dispela samting i gutpela, na dispela stret bai litimapim nem bilong yu. | For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same:
Long wanem, em i wokman bilong God long yu bilong helpim yu stap gut. Tasol sapos yu mekim dispela samting i nogut, stap pret. Long wanem, em i no karim bainat nating. Long wanem, em i wokman bilong God, man bilong bekim pe nogut bilong mekim belhat tru kam antap long em husat i mekim pasin nogut. | For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil.
Olsem na yupela i mas i gat nid long stap aninit, i no bilong tingim belhat tru tasol, tasol tu bilong tingim mausbel. | Wherefore ye must needs be subject, not only for wrath, but also for conscience sake.
Long wanem, long dispela as yupela i mas baim takis tu. Long wanem, ol i stap ol wokman bilong God, bilong tingting olgeta taim long dispela samting stret. | For for this cause pay ye tribute also: for they are God’s ministers, attending continually upon this very thing.
¶ Olsem na mekim long olgeta ol samting em i stret long ol, takis mani long ol husat takis mani i stret long ol, kastam mani long ol husat kastam mani i stret long ol, pret long ol husat pret i stret long ol, ona long ol husat ona i stret long ol. | Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute is due; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honour to whom honour.
No ken gat dinau long man long wanpela samting, dinau long laikim tru wanpela i go long narapela tasol. Long wanem, em husat i laikim tru narapela i bin inapim lo. | Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.
Long wanem dispela, Yu no ken bagarapim marit wantaim pamuk pasin, Yu no ken kilim man, Yu no ken stil, Yu no ken stap giaman witnes, Yu no ken mangal, na sapos i gat wanpela arapela tok strong, yupela i ken save long en tru long dispela liklik toktok, em i olsem, Yu bai laikim tru man i stap klostu long yu olsem yu laikim tru yu yet. | For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
Pasin bilong laikim tru i no mekim nogut long man i stap klostu long em. Olsem na laikim tru em i samting i inapim lo. | Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.
¶ Na dispela, taim yupela i save long taim, long nau em i taim stret bilong kirap na lusim slip. Long wanem, nau kisim bek bilong yumi i stap klostu moa long taim yumi i bin bilip. | And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed.
Nait i klostu long pinis, san i stap klostu. Olsem na larim yumi tromoi ol wok bilong tudak, na larim yumi putim klos pait bilong lait. | The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light.
Larim yumi wokabaut wantaim pasin i no gat giaman, olsem long san, i no long wail pasin na spak pasin, i no long pasin bilong aigris nogut na raun nating nogut, i no long ol strongpela pait na mangal tingting. | Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying.
Tasol yupela i mas putim Bikpela Jisas Kraist olsem klos, na no ken givim spes long bodi, long inapim ol aigris bilong en. | But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.
